I'm giving it 5 starts.......BUT......

Ever since I had a chef friend/neighbor show me how to make a good brisket, I've never found one better than what I can makeat home, and I absolutely despise paying restaurant prices for a brisket that I don't feel is as good as what I can make at home.

So, having said that, I'll still give this 5 stars for making a pretty good brisket. We flew in to visit family. I've eaten at this location a couple times. Last time I got a meat sampler with sausage, brisket and other stuff. We all just got the brisket on this trip and shared it.

I wouldn't mind a spicier BBQ sauce though. Maybe there was some at a different table, but I didn't see any at our tables.

The rye bread was tasty, and the ribs my nephew got looked pretty tasty as well, but I was already stuffed by the time he said he had extra.

It's a pretty average price for BBQ, and definitely worth a stop........unless my neighbor teaches you how to smoke a perfect brisket. ;).

This was our first time visiting When Pigs Fly. I never have only been to one other barbecue spot, but it’s been years because I stopped eating pork. Well my boyfriend (who’s visiting town) wanted to try some barbecue so I did some research and this place was top rated! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. I really appreciate that they were playing worship music and had a huge sign mentioning God. The customer service was fantastic and the guy taking our order helped with recommendations and the food came out quickly. It was delicious and I will definitely be back again!

We ordered a Smoked Turkey for Thanksgiving and it was soo good. The entire experience, from ordering over the phone, to picking it up, to heating and eating it on, Thanksgiving day, was so professional and efficient. The reheating instructions were clear and concise. We will be ordering again for Christmas‼

Took a chance on this place and I’m glad I did!! The ribs (1/2 rack) were smoked and seasoned to perfection. Perfect amount of tug, truly a great experience.

Then we move to the 1/2lb. of moist brisket. Unreal. Melt in your mouth, smoked awesomeness. I’ve been to Memphis, KC, Texas, North Carolina….etc. This Mom and Pop vibe place is a gem. Easily top 5 brisket I’ve had.

This place is wonderful and I’ll be back when I’m in Wichita again. HIGHLY recommend.

We went for lunch on a weekday and was worried with our limited time and the amount of people in front of us, but the service was fast and friendly. We got our order in and only waited a few minutes to receive it. I had a pork sandwich that was very tender and delicious. My lunch partner had turkey and pork which was also yummy. I tried their cream corn and would definitely recommend it. I tasted the potato salad too and it was very flavorful. We will definitely be back and I'm bringing a bigger appetite this time because everything I seen them bring to tables smelled and looked awesome and I want to try them all.

A local recommended this and it was amazing. The staff was so friendly and offered us all sorts of recommendations. I ended up with a little of everybody ordering the 2 meat platter, and extra rib and the sausage. The smoked turkey was melt in your mouth and the brisket moist and falling apart. The creamed corn was the best I ever had.

When we were planning our wedding, we knew we would have a lot of out-of-town guests so we wanted them to experience amazing midwest BBQ. Our searching led us to When Pigs Fly. We met with Brian and Kendra (the owner's) for our tasting and they sat with us for over an hour telling us about themselves, what brought them to start their business, their experience with weddings, and ultimately how they will go above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was flawless. Everything they told us held true. They tailored the menu to exactly what we wanted. They traveled over 2 hours to our venue and the food tasted so good you would have thought it just got done. It was amazing! We got so many compliments, not only on the food but also on how wonderful Brian was! He was fantastic with all our guests. He brought the wedding party waters while we were busy with photos. Brian and Kendra started as our caterers but after the wedding, we consider them friends.

This place is my FAVORITE BBQ in Wichita. The staff are always friendly and in a good mood. The restaurant is always super clean. The food is always amazing! My favorite is the Atomic Spud, but occasionally I'll branch out and get the Weekly Special. The last one I got was a BBQ Nacho Plate and it was SO good!

None of the meat was dry. The meats were all very flavorful. I had potato salad and green beans and sides. Green beans were very good. Potato salad was bland

Get here!!! Wowza! Delicious!! So delicious! My husband just kept saying, it’s like butter! The brisket, the pulled pork, it’s so tender, it melts like butter in your mouth! All five of us practically licked our plates clean!

Excellent bbq. Everything is good. Creamed corn is phenomenal. I’ve never had a bad experience here. They also catered my wedding reception several years ago and that was also a great experience.

My husband and I have eaten here several times before and it is the BEST BBQ in Wichita! We travel to KC frequently, and I would even venture to say it is just as good, if not better, than some Kansas City BBQ! If you're looking for a good BBQ joint, here it is!

This place lives up to the hype of the other reviews I read that brought me here. Got the special of the week, "the burnt ends", basically the end pieces of the brisket put on a couple of pieces of bread, drenched in their delicious bbq sauce with a side of sliced pickles. one it was sleepovers to my table I looked down I wondered who ate my sandwich. Only to look at my hands that resembled a wild animal that just makes a calf. It was so good the thing was just gone before I realized it but so filling I was satisfied.

The people working their are so nice and helpful too, this is the go to bbq place in Wichita. Just a good vibe place with delicious food. Unless you're a horrible human being out a vegan, you should live this place too.

Updated review for the temporary special they have for lent. The lobster tails were awesome! This would be a great menu item to have all year hint hint.

Great food and great service. They have the best dry rub fall off the bone ribs in all of Wichita, maybe even Kansas.

Crew members were so helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our meals and had extra to have the next day. Will be back soon.

Delicious barbecue and yummy side dishes. I like to get the family deal which is about $35 and feeds a family of 4. I think it could probably feed 6. We had the garlic green beans, which I loved, and potato salad. Both were delicious. The staff is always friendly and I feel it's sufficiently priced. I never leave feeling disappointed.

We got a little bit of everything! Delicious meats, especially the brisket and the jalapeno sausage. Great service and atmosphere. Very clean.
