Great park at the end of the paved portion of the Grant Wood trail. I always park at the Can shed and run my dogs here and back. It is a good distance for them when it's hot and slopes are very mild when they are pulling with their harnesses.

When I heard about the new park in Marion with a gigantic glacial boulder, I couldn't wait to go check it out! This is a great quiet hidden-away park. It has a serene pond with wildlife and a nice little pavillion. There is a trail going by, great for walking or biking. I was very impressed the boulder is much taller than me or anyone I've ever known! My girls enjoyed climbing all the way through the crack in the rock & had space to kick a soccer ball around. We'll be visiting for afternoon picnics throughout the year!

Simply park with a big rock. Benches, windmill, frogs, bike parking, restored grassland, sunfish in a man made pond, sitting area, big rock, and grilling station. Access to the Grant Wood Trail system. Basic and simple.

Just a big rock on the side of a small lake in an industrial park. Good views of native prairie grasses and cornfields. Also plenty of birds, bees and butterflies. It's just a shame how trashy some visitors are when there's a trash can on site.
NOTE TO CITY: PUT A DANG LID ON THE TRASH CAN!!!

Waldo's Rock Park is a nice area, long flat bicycle trail and great for walking too. Some different scenery and wildlife to see and a nice little tunnel under the highway and a nice bridge over a small creek. Great little escape.

Great little park and attraction. The only downside is that it's a little tricky to find from the Highway.

My grandchildren and I grabbed some food and headed to the rock park for a picnic! It was very quiet. And the kids enjoyed walking over to the pound afterwards! They can’t believe just how big the rock was in the middle of the pound! Think next time we go we will be going for a walk on the trails to discover what else we can find.

a great place to walk on a trail. Not too hilly and a great way to get out and enjoy nature. The trail is not fully paved but the trail is in good condition...and I think they plan to pave some more on the grant wood trail in the next year.

The kids love coming here and climbing the rock. Its a nice little loop to do a handful of times, not sure how long the loop is. I would assume maybe 8 times around would make a mile. Nice little hidden gem!

This was a great little stop. They had portable restroom, but it was super dirty. Still super fun place. Great rock to climb, a pond, a prairie, and lots of birds. Great for a lunch stop.

This used to be a hidden gem. With paved bikepath extending around pond at park now much more accessible. As always Marion Parks do an outstanding job maintaining another nice park!
