As professional as a utility can be. Service is consistent, and very easy to get a human being on the line if you ever need to call.

Linn County REC has been spectacular. I had trouble with intermittent electrical in my kitchen. I had an electrician out and they checked everything from the outlets to the box and couldn’t find anything. We tried changing out the two main breakers to no avail. REC had been out previously to check the meter and didn’t find anything. But as it turned out the connection between the house and the meter was bad and they didn’t catch it. So when they came out with the electrician to get it fixed they told me that REC would pay for everything up to the point of the meter as they felt it should have been caught the first time they were out. Again REC is the best.

I asked about a security light on 10/27 because we had lost ours during the derecho. When I turned off our house lights tonight at 9:30 pm.....we had a security light! Linn County REC has provided us THE best service in our 15 years of living here. #humbled #lovelinncountyREC

Linn County REC is excellent. Their website is very user friendly, and the people that I've dealt with in person in the office or over the phone are very patient, friendly, and helpful. Their power rarely goes out, but when it does they are very quick to respond. A lot more than what I could say for Alliant Energy.

Amazing service. I submitted a ticket late at night during the derecho that we didn’t have power and the rest of the street did. I fully expected it to take several days to get to me with all the work going on. The next morning who shows up? Linn County REC. Very impressed.

I live in Nashville Tn., and just saw a Convoy of Linn Electric Trucks headed to where I can only guess, is the people in Florida and effected areas from hurricane Irma. My Hat is off to you guys for this selfless act of kindness. Be safe

After a snow storm I reported my power was out. They has a truck in front of my house in 20 minutes. The power was back on in less than an hour following my report of the outage.

No problems in my time with REC. I have all Alliant energy now and thinking of moving back so I can use REC.

I never had a negative interaction with the employees, they were always amiable and helpful. Also, pay-by-phone is free of charge.

Had 3 brief power outages in about 6 hours and every time I have to go all over the house re setting things in multiple ways ! My old computer takes 15-20 minutes to be again usable.

They threw these metal locks in my grass, one was no where near the electrical box they were working on, so clearly didn’t just accidentally drop it but intentionally threw it in my yard. Then I hit it with the mower. Now my mower is messed up. Luckily no one was injured. Sent them a message about it and get messages back with misspelled words and terrible grammar. It was like the person never attended a junior high English class. This is supposedly a manager, these are the people working on your lawn and electrical components. Lower your expectations and if they are working on your lawn look in the grass because these guys don’t care.

Linn County Rec are scammers, unprofessional, and money hungry. They will charge you the remaining balance of the last tenant that lived in the unit. So whatever the balance was, they expect you to pay it. If you live in a small house, apartment, or condo- they will charge you the equivalent of having a 5 bedroom house. They will charge you 50% increase after 5PM, so when you are at home you will be charged more. Everyone in the office is also uneducated, poor customer service skills. If you can switch to Mediacom, do it. If I could give them 0 stars I would. A A bunch of racist small town Iowa fools work here.
