The Marion police are responsive and have helped take care of trouble makers in our neighborhood.

They are nice and always willing to serve without question.

Marion PD could use some training in crisis de-escalation. Like any PD, quality seems to come down to the officer; some should take notes. I do like that they have monthly opportunities for citizens to casually discuss concerns with an officer. However, the weekday, late-morning time of these opportunities means those with day jobs are out of luck.

I was very disappointed when I called in a drunk driver. I felt as if the dispatcher was questioning me as to why I thought the individual was intoxicated when I had just seen him leave the bar stumbling into his truck and yelling obscenities to passerby. She didnt even inquire as to his license plate number at all. I am disappointed and really upset that the marion police department did not act as if this was an important matter that needed to be addressed as soon as possible.

will violate your rights with no hesitation. cops are rude and do not know the laws at all. no repercussions for unlawfulness either. they get their feelings hurt and arrest you without probable cause

These officers consistently try to violate the rights of individuals particularly at public buildings. Some of the officers look like they’re teenagers and some of those female officers could not arrest even a normal size guy.

They should learn to be a little bit more understanding. They don’t have a quota to meet, so there isn’t a need to give a ticket to everyone in sight just because they feel like it.
