Had my son's second birthday party in the banquet room. Jimmy was very helpful and accommodating and it was very easy to childproof so parents could sit and chat while the kids played! Jimmy was very helpful in putting tables up to block off areas and arranging things the way we wanted. Great prices, great food, everyone was so nice and helpful. Would definitely have more parties there and recommend to all my friends and family. Definitely worth the drive!

Went to the Thanksgiving buffet a few days ago. The food was absolutely delicious and as good of turkey dinner I've ever had even better than my mom's I would highly recommend and I had my sister and brother-in-law from Kansas City with me they were totally impressed and we hope to come back next year. Just great home cooking for a great price!

I went there with my ex-wife back when we were still together. I had the catfish. It was very very good and she had the chicken. She was very happy with her meal, which I have to admit. It was nice to see her. Happy once in a while. The french fries regarding the Sotos cold. The atmosphere is cool and the staff is very nice.

Had dinner here tonight (9/17/22). We were celebrating my son and my nieces birthdays. The food was great and our waitress was amazing. Kalmes is one of my favorite restaurants, and we live about an hour away. We'll worth the hour drive. Prime rib was excellent tonight. Great salad bar. Really nice, simple atmosphere. We have had good food and good service every time we stop in. I believe our waitresses name was maybe Laura? I believe she was one of the owners? Sorry if I got that wrong.. Anyway she was awesome and made the night very enjoyable for us all. Thank you.

Great small town service and food! The ambiance and history of the building only adds to the experience. The fried chicken was some of the best I have ever had. The waitress was awesome! You could tell they were short staffed, as she was running around taking care of everyone, but through it all she never once complained or got short. She was great! I recommend you take the drive and experience this place for yourself.

We had Kalmes cater our 300 person wedding last weekend and I received raving reviews from all who attended. I originally booked them about a year and a half ago and since then inflation has made food prices soar. Despite that, Kalmes never came back to try and raise my rates or give me less than we agreed to. We left with tons of leftover food despite many of our guests making multiple trips to the buffet line, and the food was piping hot and delicious. They are so easy to work with and I will recommend them to anyone and everyone! The ham and fried chicken are the way to go!

Thank you for the delicious buffet you served at our daughters wedding this past Saturday. We‘ve made the trip to your restaurant several times and you never disappoint. I recommend others to take a short drive and check your menu out. We will be back soon. Thank you again. Carol

We absolutely love this restaurant and recommend it to anyone looking for a family owned place to eat. The salad bar and Windy Whopper are our favorites, along with the chicken noodle soup. Don't forget to grab a mug of 1919 Rootbeer from the tap while you're there. The staff is friendly and the service is quick! Call ahead and make a reservation Friday-Sunday as they can be very busy.

Had the Sunday evening buffet. Excellent!! Homade cinnimon rolls were an unexpected treat. Others were having burgers that also looked great! Locally grown buffalo is available.
Besides great food and wonderful service, the staff offers up a caboodle of information of local lore and things to do. Apparently, if you stay at the hotel across the road, you can get half off your breakfast at Kalmes

Everything I’ve ever tried has been excellent. The buffet is great home style cooking and the bar is a lot of fun. Definitely worth a try!

Great family owned small town restaurant. Owner was very pleasant and checked on our meal and service several times. Food was delicious.

Great food for an excellent price! They are known for their prime rib, but their menu items are very diverse.

Catered our wedding and we have been back many times since. Their seafood buffet over lent is wonderful.

Visiting from out of town and saw this place and decided to give it a try. Was not disappointed. Excellent sandwiches.

If you're looking for a great steak, look no further. All their food is delicious.
