This restaurant recently changed ownership to Kevin. I've been to Brazen and Birds Food Truck, located in Dubuque, Iowa, that is also owned by him. We have been wanting to venture over to Galena to try Otto's Place for awhile. It did not disappoint! The food was scrumptious. I enjoyed the plants and our waiter was very attentive. I wish there were more fancy coffee drinks, but that's no big deal. We will definitely come back again! Definitely try the cinnamon roll. I would suggest splitting it - it is huge! We had reservations at 8:15 on a Sunday. It was good.

What a great find. This quaint and cozy brunch spot has delicious breakfast options. I had the sweet potato hash and my husband had the veggie omelette and a Cinnamon roll. We shared a side of bacon. Can't say enough great things about how fresh and flavorful the food was. Delicious!!

Eat here if you’re visiting Galena!

My wife, in-laws, and I came two years in a row.

Everything is great; the food, the prices, and the friendly staff.

I’d especially recommend the country hash (it’s big enough to split) and cinnamon roll.

We were worried when we heard the place switched owners, but it’s still a top-tier restaurant.

I’d recommend making a reservation.

My husband and I went to Galena and we always try to find little restaurants that are not chain restaurants and eat there.

When we got there we found out there was a 45 minute wait which was no big deal. So we went and sat in the car and waited for them to call us.

We went back after 45 minutes and luckily our table had just became available. We got seated right away and had water brought to us within just a few minutes of being sat.

We looked at the menu and our waiter came over and explained about the daily menu for the specials.

His name was Dylan and he provided the best service. Then he came back to the table into our order. We made a change while we were waiting for our food and he gladly did it without and he hesitation or attitude.

When he brought our food he brought us our meal that we were sharing and an additional plate without us having to ask for it because he knew we were going to be sharing it and he brought us our cinnamon rolls into go containers.

This is a very cute little restaurant by the Galena visitor center. I would highly recommend visiting there if you go, but I would make a reservation which is allowed.

Spectacular breakfast next to the railroad with great views of downtown in a cozy atmosphere.
Menu is fantastic and everything is prepared superbly.
Our table shared a giant hot cinnamon roll and the special lemon pop tarts. Both were phenomenal and gigantic. Definitely good items to split with a few others.
Their huevos rancheros were out of the park and the Cuban sandwich had the best bread and butter pickles.
Left with tons of leftovers and couldn’t stop talking about the food.
Can’t wait to come back! Definitely make a reservation ahead if you can as this place fills up quick!

Nice, quaint, little treasure located right on the other side of the bridge. We came across this place after searching Google for a great breakfast. We loved our experience here... they were busy but got us sat in approximately 10 minutes none the less. We came for breakfast later than most and were able to avoid the rush. My wife and I both had meat omelets with American potatoes and shares a Cinnamon roll. We washed them down with a fee mimosas and everything was delicious. Out server was the best and was extremely knowledgeable and polite when answering any questions we came up with. We got our rolls in about 10 minutes and our main breakfast in approximately another 7-10. It's a little small so I understand there's generally a wait... However, they're definitely worth the time.

Otto’s is a perfect little gem just off the main road in Downtown Galena. The wait was long, but very well worth it. My wife and I were greeted with smiling faces and fast service. Dillon, who served us, brought out drinks mere minutes after ordering.
And when the food arrived, I was met with the fluffiest veggie omlett I’ve had, with excellent fried potatoes. Their cinnamon roll was huge and was covered in cream cheese frosting. And the space we enjoyed was well decorated, if a little close to other tables.
All in all, a wonderful experience and we definitely plan to come back next time we’re in town.

I ordered the Salmon Lox for breakfast and it was great. I was very satisfied with the portions as well as taste, which was pretty much an omelet and lox combined. Delish! Their house coffee (Otto’s Blend) is very good too, and is great value with the unlimited refills. All the other dishes & pastries I saw served at other tables looked amazing as well.

Regrettably I forgot the name of my server but he was so nice, pleasant, and attentive, as were all the staff I interacted with. Very positive dining experience overall.

We recently visited the Galena area for the 1st time. Otto’s came highly recommended by friends. They had online reservations for selected times, which was really convenient and highly recommend. The restaurant itself has two levels with a cozy feel. The staff was super friendly and our food came out pretty quick. If you’re looking for a good spot for breakfast, this is the place to go.

Excellent service and wonderful breakfast. Highly recommend the lox - it is not tradition lox & bagel.
Service (Jake) was outstanding.

Best breakfast potatoes I have ever had, crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Coffee and breakfast burrito was very good as well. Highly recommend checking this place out.

You cannot go wrong eating at Otto’s. Totally worth the wait. They’ve got a full bar with top shelf Bloody Marys, Irish Coffee, etc… From the menu everything is good. Locally sourced ingredients creatively cooked with care. Our group had the breakfast burrito, the corned beef hash, Quinoa bowl and breakfast tacos, all very very good. Table service was top notch.

Some of the best breakfast/brunch you can get within 50 miles of Galena.

Glad they keep the same feel from the previous owners but seeing Kevin's spin on the food is great.

I wish I could eat there everyday.
