Victory Café

Came to Victory on 9/24/23 and had great food and phenomenal service. Mary is fantastic and fun to talk to. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone who visits Galena. Breakfast is great and the salads are awesome. Kuddos to the chef my fiance finished her meal and she never finishes her meal. Travel photographer from Galena.

It took a while to get seated on a Saturday Morning. Other than the long wait, the food was pretty good. My Croissant sandwich was delicious and the hashbrowns too. Everything was flavorful and filling. The service was great too. Free refills on certain drinks is also a nice touch. Very reasonably priced food too!

Our 4 person group was able to be sat in about 10 minutes on a busy fall day so felt like a win right off the bat. Service was good through the duration of our meal and the food was good as well. I would definitely return here!

This is our first time in Galena and we loved the breakfast here! I subbed gluten free toast for their breakfast croissant sandwich and it was delicious. The service was friendly and we only had a 10-15 min wait around 10am on a Saturday! We would absolutely come back here!

This place is great! Greated when we first got in and quickly seated. Looked over them menu. Found what we would like to try and placed our order. They brought it out fast, fresh, hot! Everything was great. I had the bacon hamburgers, and my wife had a burger. We both had fries, and all tasted great! Would recommend!

A great place to stop for breakfast. Ordered eggs & they arrived at our table hot & delicious! Well done Victory ... And we'll be coming again.

My mom sisters and I had a ladies weekend start off with a lunch on a disappointing note with two waitresses (one was rude, and seemed to be put out having to help a busy section and the other was a young lady with no respect for elders and remarked with snide comments, then MARY took over.. what can I say that would be the best compliment, she was in a nutshell..THE SWEETEST, MOST ENDEARING, ATTENTIVE, JOY TO HAVE MET. Definitely an asset to this place! We didn't get to have breakfast there like we wanted the next morning, however, if you are in Galena and see Victory cafe on Main Street and want to have a breakfast or lunch.. ask to sit at Mary's section...you won't be disappointed!!! THANKS MARY FOR TAKING CARE OF US AND MAKING MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF THE PEOPLE OF GALENA AND THE TOWN GREAT

Doesn't look fancy on the outside, kind of a corner bar cafe look. Check it out though ... Good food (great fries & hotdogs!) good prices and 5-star pies w/ice cream. Super friendly staff.

We stopped in for a Saturday breakfast before walking around downtown Galena. We were seated and waited on promptly. Food was good and came out quickly. The cinnamon roll was fresh and delicious.

The restaurant is cash only, which was prominently displayed and they have an ATM onsite.

The staff is super nice. The food is good. Took a little bit of time for a food to get out to us but it was a pretty busy day. Would definitely return.

Reasonable breakfast prices. Good good and the servers were all very fast and friendly. A good way to start your day!

We had a lovely breakfast here over our minimoon in Galena. The tables could be slightly spread out better for social distancing but we felt safe. The food was delicious and the service was very attentive.

Thanks goodness the Victory Cafe is open again! After a long closure to repair extensive from frozen pipes, the Victory Cafe is once again serving customers in downtown Galena. They feature breakfast all day along with a great lunch menu. We enjoyed flavorful omelets this morning, toast, hash browns and great coffee. Locals love this place and when a restaurant is a local favorite, you know it's going to be great. Good to have you back, Victory Cafe.

Always great food and friendly staff, they make you feel like a local even if you're just passing through. And yeah, that's one giant pancake.

Lovely place, friendly staff, great locals. Open air seating as well as indoor tables and diner style counter seating. Large portions and great coffee.

Mom and Pop Diner
We were looking for a reasonable breakfast place before leaving town and this one fit the bill. Located in an old building in the Historic District right in the center of town. We were greeted immediately by the host who sat us and offered coffee before we could even thank him. It's a non-pretentious cafe with spartan tables, chairs, and booths against the wall. The walls are decorated with famous posters and prints befitting a breakfast establishment. Our server, Katy, was friendly and efficient. We both had omelets, hashbrowns and toast and everything was hot, filling, and delicious. And moderately priced considering you're in a big-time tourist zone. We were highly impressed at how spotless and sanitary the restrooms were. That usually relates to the conditions in the kitchen, in my opinion. Not the classiest restaurant in town, but they have the quaint small town ambience we were looking for.

Our "go to" for breakfast when visiting. Great coffee, pancakes and biscuits and gravy.
