We got there about 20 min after 4 and they close at 5. They did not rush us out. So thoughtful and helpful. Interactive displays were amazing. We definitely could have stayed longer if we got there earlier. The price is great for families.

Was a great experience and learned a good bit of stuff. Very neat place and worth the visit if your in town. Could be a great place if you have kids plenty of kids and activities to keep them interested and entertained.

Enjoyed out groups tour thru the museum. Lots of rich history of the clinton area saw mills and business. Enjoyed looking at the different machines to pictures of the old rafts ect. Over that they had different areas for the kids to interact and play with things. They have a water table that the kids can close gates ect and float down boats and logs. Great place to visit for a few hours. I would recommend checking it out.

The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the history and general information. The old line shaft tools were amazing and in great shape. The presentation with the animatronics Was informative and interesting.

What a great hidden gem! My wife and I were visiting family in Port Byron when we found the sawmill museum. There's a great mix of items for adults and children. You could tell that they invested in quality exhibits. We loved the water exhibit, the interactive log raft, and the animatronic lumber barons (which were so realistic as to be borderline creepy! Lol) we spent a solid two hours there, and will probably visit again!

A fun experience overall. The best feature is the water table, it's unparalleled and fun to play with even as an adult!

Great info on mill operations and surrounding areas. Really near old photographs of logging and area history. If you have kids there are many fun activities for them, including a giant water table. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

What a find! This museum completely surpassed any expectations I could have had. To find that Clinton was the sawmill capital of the U.S. at one time . Very interactive museum for kids and adults alike.

Holy cow, better plan at least 2 hours to get the full experience here. So so much history. The host kept checking on us to answer questions, and the retired gent in the saw room is very passionate about his shop, which really adds to the experience. They both are locals and had other tidbits to share about their community and other places if interest. We will try to go back, we missed about 1/3 of the exhibits.

We had four generations in our family ranging from age 92 to 3 when we visited this museum and it had something to entertain/interest everyone! We learned so much thanks to the very informative tour guide. Very pleased with our time here and so glad we stopped in!

The kids loved the giant water table and all the train sets. The adults loved the automatons, old pictures and learning the history of the lumber barons in Iowa. Good museum, good price, and the kids ask to go back and visit again every day. Well done!
