Veterans Memorial Hospital

Went to ER had blood clot in lung. They took action right away. I was their priority. Received excellent care both medically and emotionally. Wonderful caring and knowledgeable staff. Dr Schwartz is the best Dr I could ask for

I have utilized this facility for all my hospital needs for years. From delivering babies to ER visits for stitches to walk in clinic for ear aches. We have always had a positive experience. The staff is always willing to help.

First son born here. Dr. Schwartz is an angel, and all the staff from the front deakin to the nurses to the custodians were so unbelievably helpful and kind throughout all our visits!

We rate this Hospital and staff second to none. We have been admitted to other facilities that could not compare with the hands-on care we have received with compassion, skill, while protecting our privacy and dignity at Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa.

Always the best care!!!! Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Very kind staff and faculty. Nice service.only complaint is the cleanliness of the ER rooms.yellow dried mustard looking substance on floor of rm 2.hence why only 3 stars.piece of camel corn as well.

Nursing staff and paramedics are amazing here. The providers on call are not great. I have taken both of my children here due to severe illness and other reasons. Nursing staff and paramedics there have always been prompt with helping and making sure we are taken care of. The last experience I had when I was there will be the last time I ever take my children or myself to this facility. I always end up with the same provider there and he is horrible and rude. Back when they had mayo providers, my urgent care and er visits were great.

Went in to ER to have a fish hook removed from my thumb. No problems with the care. Three months later I get a bill for over $1600. No wonder this hospital can't even break even. Will not go back again.

Exceeding poor performance by staff. Had to get Rx filled, but they could not even do that correctly. Had to call back 4-5 times just so my medications were called into the pharmacy correctly. They would have killed me if it wasn't for me doing a complete audit against what they prescribed me and what I should have been taking. I would not trust this place in any form, manner or means. I'm a diabetic, and they didn't even place a Rx for insulin. I had to call multiple times just to clarify the PA still wanted me to take it or not. They couldn't even answer simple questions like that. Time for a lawyer. Is it any wonder they are afraid of loosing the place / closing doors due to poor performance and bad actors.

Hi so not to be rude but the experience that I had was horrible. It all started by myself having to go take a ambulance ride into the e.r ah few weeks ago. I had a bad seizure while sleeping and went to the e.r around pry midnight. When I get there instead of the male doctor being caring, compassionate, and reassuring. He created a more stressful situation when at the moment that's the last thing I needed. Due to myself just having a seizure but the doctor never once checked out my body. I bit through my tongue and was in lots of pain. He also seemed proud to say you can't drive for the next 6 months. Which to me meant loss of my jobs and lots of other horrible changes I wasn't excited about going through. He literally said " well if you would've been taking your medicine you wouldn't be here." Well what he did know is that I've tried many medicine's and had no luck due to horrible side effects.. He was super rude and uncompassionate!!! Who ever that doctor was would've made a Better prison guard than a person who is supposed to be helping and caring for other human beings

Would not go here unless you need a band-aid or a bill. Apply pressure to your wounds and drive to a further hospital.
