Great place to access the Belmar Bridge and begin a bike ride, either on the Sandy Creek trail or the Allegheny River Trail. Note that the lot is quite small and can be easy to miss when passing on the road. Word of warning: if you're planning on biking the Allegheny River Trail, you will need to carry your bike down stairs from the top of the bridge.

Very nice area. The Allegheny river trail to the south of beautiful. I assume the other 3 directions are as well, but I haven't ridden them.
If you go that way, you have to see Freedom falls.

We had a hell of a time finding it! We only rode our bikes in for about 3 miles and saw so many things in those 3 miles! There's a lot to see! Definitely want to rode the whole trail next time!

Absolutely breathtaking view of the Allegheny River! We drive up from Butler at least twice a month to get our fix. So relaxing and serene.

The trail is a beautiful paved railroad bed through the forest and across the Allegheny River. The trail continues across multiple bridges over the sand creek stream with a refurbished tunnel that you pass through. The tunnel is straight so no light is required.
There is also plenty of parking with porta-johns at the trail access near the Allegheny Bridge. Great place to enjoy the beauty of creation and improve physical health.

This is a great bike trail. If you start on the west end it's a gradual uphill climb. That makes the return very nice. The view from the river bridge is wonderful.

Absolutely gorgeous place to ride your bike or take a walk! There's a lot of shade on this trial also. There is a large Iron Bridge, a long tunnel with interesting graffiti, and five or six wood bridges, which are all safe to cross. There are areas where you can go down to the creek and swim. The trail is paved the entire way and it's the smoothest Trail I've ever been on. It is quite level both ways. The first time I went on it I easily went 16 miles without even feeling effort. It's quite a distance from where I live but I still drive there a few times a week because of the beauty of the trail!

This is a wonderful paved bicycle path with six bridges and has free parking and a port-a-potty at the end of the big red bridge. One of our favorite areas because we enjoy the shade and some sunny areas. We use our GPS to find the Belmar road parking area.

From this access point you can go in several directions on the Allegheny River, and there are trails on both banks of the river. A trail also goes along East Sandy Creek. To access the river trail on the eastern shore from the Sandy Creek trail and the bridge, you have to descend a sturdy but rustic stairway. An adjacent ramp helps to walk your bike down the stairs. TIP- use the hand brakes on your bike to help control the descent! And remember if you take your bike down, you have to be able to bring it back up, too! When I visited, there was a porta-john on the western shore at the parking lot.

The trail is 8 miles long in One Direction just about right for my grandchildren on bicycles. It is picturesque and beautiful goes over numerous Bridges and creeks. There is one tunnel my grandchildren find extremely exciting to go through. Make sure you have flashlights it does get quite dark inside the tunnel. The temperature inside the tunnel was quite cool probably 58 degrees or so. Just across the large Iron Bridge you see in the photo there is an intersection to another bicycle trail the runs north and south opposed to east and west from Titusville to be on Kennedale alongside the Allegheny River. The intersection is somewhere between Titusville and Kennedale. Northwood be towards Titusville and South towards Pittsburgh would be towards Kennedale. An avid bicyclist can make a day of it. Highly recommended nicely paved and beautiful.

One of the most scenic, paved bike trails in the region, complete with a very high bridge crossing of the Allegheny River, several panaramic bridge crossings of East Sandy Creek, and a long cool tunnel, while traveling through the heavily wooded countryside.

These trails are absolutely beautiful. Most are paved, offering great rides for bikes. The old railroad bridge is fun to cross as well

Beautiful scenery here and a place to go down under one of the walking bridges to put your feet in the water.
