Sea Gypsy Motel

Doesn't get much better than this. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Comfy bed. Studio rooms with the kitchenette have everything needed. Beautiful view of the ocean with a short walk down the beach to the pier. Pleasant staff. Clean pool and jacuzzi. Quiet location.

We stay here every time we head to the beach from the central valley. The beachfront rooms are always large, in good condition, and I've never had any issues. The balconies are also large enough for two people to sit comfortably and you can't beat the view!

Always the best place to stay when in Pismo Beach. The price is always the best around that vicinity. The service is always excellent. The location is the best. Any room you get is awesome, even if it’s not an oceanfront. However the ocean front rooms are the best and very inexpensive. If you do happen to stay there and you request an oceanfront balcony the best oceanfront rooms to try to get would be the bottom floor because you’re right on the beach. Your balcony is facing the beach and just below maybe 2 feet is the sand from the beach and the water is not very far from there. You can hear the ocean and leave your sliding door open at night when you sleep. Very peaceful. Also, the price is the same for the ground floor oceanfront along with any other ocean balcony. It’s very peaceful and quiet there. I’ve never had any issues, or disturbances, or heard any other visitors while sleeping or during the day. There are conjoining rooms for those of you who come with other people, or come with kids, or big families but you want to have separate rooms. The front desk agents are the awesome. They are very genuine, kind, caring, and helpful. The front desk offers dispenser with hot coffee (decaf and regular), creamer, sugar, and the extras for coffee, as well as hot chocolate. They do provide shampoo (no conditioner), lotion, bar soap, shower caps, razors, clean towels. The rooms themselves are very clean. The best part is that they are timeshares. The rooms have kitchens that are fully stocked with dishes cooking utensils, even cutting boards, stoves, refrigerators, microwave, oven, and anything you need has a few were right at home. with all the extra amenities you can’t beat their price ANYWHERE. The pictures I’m posting with this review are right from my balcony on the first floor. I highly recommend the Sea Gypsy Motel. It’s definitely one of my top 10 places to stay in California. Also, it is right near the pier and all of the festivities that go on in Pismo Beach. The restaurants are within walking distance as well as the downtown area and the family fun centers that are one block over you don’t have to worry about parking because you can walk. There’s also an ocean entrance in the building and if you get a ground floor oceanfront, it’s only steps away. There’s a hose at the beginning of the stairs that lead to the ocean so you can wash your feet or surfboards or equipment on your way in. And there’s also a laundry room available for the guests to wash their clothes. It is kid friendly, very family oriented, as well as can be romantic and fun. It can cater to anyone’s needs. Parking is permit (would you receive your permit when you check in). So there’s no struggle to find a parking and no fighting with other people who are not guests just to park. There is a changing station showers and equipment rinse off stations, within feet of the hotel, still part of the property I believe right next to the main entrance to the ocean for non-guests. Also, I forgot to mention the rooms are very spacious with a sofa, lounge chair, dining area, TV, plenty of closet, space, and drawers, as well as pantries and stuff for food and some even have Murphy beds which gives you even more space on top of that along with the sofa having a pull out bed. They even provide a fan located in the big closet. I Highly recommend this place. Do not pass it up if you have the opportunity to stay there.

Stayed here with my brother Chris Jenkins in May & October. What a nice place to stay. We both love this place. This is the only place my brother stays. I can see why. I'm from Spokane Washington and I will be back. Highly recommend.

It's been many years since the last time I stayed here. I'm so glad I came back. The staff were so helpful with getting us booked. We're on the second floor of back building and still had a fantastic view, especially since it's only considered "partial" view. Very dog friendly with a grassy area by the beach with trash cans and waste bags. They even put a netting up on our balcony since we were worried about our small dogs being out there. The kitchen was well stocked. Very spacious suite (combined studio & bedroom, 2 bathrooms). It's not new or fancy but the prices are fantastic, it's great for a family and you can't beat the location.

Favorite place to stay in Pismo, has awesome beach front rooms/studio apartments! They LOVE dogs here....I swear every time I'm here it seems like everyone staying here brought their dogs too!! You literally can walk out of your room & down a few stairs & you're on the beach!!! Fall asleep at night listening to the sounds of the ocean, always hate leaving!!!

Right in the beach so beautiful so peaceful the guests were all so nice and shared the grill the weekend we stayed. The kitchen was spacious the beds were comfortable the room was clean. Highly recommend this hotel for the rates and all around service.

The staff was great and very helpful. The room was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The pool and spa were clean and relaxing. The view from our room was amazing! We are looking forward to our next stay.

Very nice, friendly place to stay right on Pismo Beach. 3 floors (no elevators), 2 buildings, plus plenty of parking next to the building. Right on the beach with a beautiful unblocked view of the bay from the north to the south. Only a couple of blocks from the boardwalk and the pier. Lots of surfers in the water, even though it's 45° F outside and the water is cold.

So happy we decided to stay here! We typically stay at the Hilton but chose location over amenities - which was a good choice!
The Sea Gypsy may be small, but it is not lacking. Sure it's not full amenities, but the value is there and nothing beats the location. I'm sure the ocean view rooms are even better. The Murphy bed and pull out couch comfortably sleep 4.

My family stays here on every visit to Pismo. We come at least 6 weekends a year and a whole week during summer. Rooms are kept very clean and the staff is very friendly. We love the instant beach acess and proximity to all the shops and pier. Would recommend this motel 100 percent.

We had the most attentive housekeeping gal caring for our space. She went above and beyond for us. Family tradition for over 25 (now 33) years coming here. Gabby and Donna are wonderful! Caring staff and the views are Second to none. Patty is the best!

I had the Oceanfront Suite on the second floor. The view was good from here and my girlfriend and I plan on coming back here on a vacation coming soon. I stayed for two nights in this room--parking was easy, office was nice, weather was good, overall good experience. Would recommend this place. One bedroom(Queen) and a pulldown bed(Queen). Full fridge and a mini fridge, two microwaves, and two bathrooms.

You can't get rooms much closer to the beach than the Sea Gypsy. The rooms are nice, just enough room to not feel to enclosed. They allow dogs so it's a wonderful place to stay to let your dog enjoy Pismo Beach. They have multiple exits, one to the street level and another for the beach. The service has been fine, nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. Overall, it's been a really nice place to stay and I've been staying there once or twice a year since finding it.

This honestly was an amazing motel, right on the beach, close to everything in Pismo. We had traveled with 4 adults. I requested the least expensive room they had. I was not disappointed. The Murphy bed and the pull out sofa were both comfortable. Checkin and checkout were simple and the staff was awesome. I had brought with me my own pillow and sadly forgot it there, but upon calling them on our way home to let them know, they located it and mailed it back to me on the very same day! It’s what I call a rinky dink place, but I loved everything about it and will be staying there again! Can’t wait to return 👍👍👍

Clean, fully equipped with a kitchen and all the utensils, pots n pans, coffee maker. Beautiful ocean view for a fraction of the cost of other hotels!!! This was my go to, until I moved here from the valley! You can walk out if the building, down the stairs, onto the beach!... I love this little hidden gem!!!

I hesitate giving a review. Because it's hard enough to get reservations. My wife and I have stayed there many times. Great bed. Great View. And perfect for long walks on the beach. Enjoy!

I have worked here, stayed here, and have brought my kids here! There are simple rooms with no view to a suite with a partial or full view! If you have kids I recommend the suite because there is a one room bedroom separate from the living area so they can have their own space. Kitchen is full of everything you need to cook bake whatever! Sitting on the balcony watching the sunset is just amazing! And with kids you don't have to lug all beach equipment far...just down 3 steps and boom on the beach!
