Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and get back to what it was. You're truly embraced by nature here. Both short and long trails, with bench seating to enjoy yourself in the beauty of the desert. Visitors center was very nice, with well educated staff. Great for nature walks, jogging or just to simply get away and be in tranquility.

Beautiful natural area with easy walking trails. Lots of wildlife active and beautiful Joshua Trees to make you smile. I arrived around 1245 and it was recess time at the school adjacent. Not a bad thing for me but if you're looking for peace and quiet, it might distract you.
I enjoyed all of the interesting art pieces scattered throughout. There was seating evenly spaced along the trails offering good views and a choose-your-own route kind of theme. Overall, I had a great time and will return. I couldn't figure it out but some areas of the part have A Lot of broken glass... It was fairly weathered so it's been there for some time. Does this keep people from making trails or is it neglect? Just curious!

They put on a beautiful display with music! Beware that while it is wheelchair accessible, some parts are not paved. So it might be a little challenging in spots, especially after a good rain. It's free.

What an Awesome wildlife place in the middle of a city!! The variety of birds and other wildlife here is amazing and the local area is blessed to have it. We really enjoy this place and will continue visiting. Even had Christmas lights for the holiday!

Free! Well marked trails!

The Woodland preserve is normally a great place to visit throughout the year. We love to go for walks as a family and with friends. It does get really hot in the summer so we we will go early or late in the day but my favorite time to visit is Christmas time! I love seeing all the lights at night and sometimes if we are lucky we get to see Santa Clause!

This place is beautiful. The trails are clean and not too difficult. There is a lot of signage so you won’t get lost. It has art and bathrooms and plenty of parking.

This preserve is a unique treasure to the area. It is a well-maintained set of fenced trails that loop the terrain.

While the preserve is not a botanical garden, it feels similar to one.
It was raining during my visit, so the wildlife was minimal.
There are some art structures throughout the preserve.
A portapotty is available in the parking lot.
There is also an informational/educational building in the parking lot, which was closed when I visited on a Tuesday.

More places like this are needed in the area.

Always love coming here for walks. We've seen lizards, road runners, coyotes, snakes, and some cool birds and rabbits. The Fall is the best time with the tree color changes. We love it.

What a beautiful gem in an unexpected location. It’s so quiet, even on a Saturday at noon. Such divine views of the snowy mountains, informative boards, and iconic Joshua Trees.

First time going to the Preserve in Lancaster on a Saturday night for a (free) night walk and astronomy presentation...loved it. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the night sky making the walk and the presentation all the more engaging. The sky was clear that night giving us a nice view of celestial objects such as the planets Venus, Mars, and Mercury along with various star constellations. My friends and I had a wonderful time. After the walk we were able to look through a couple of high powered telescopes 🔭 set up by kind volunteers that allowed us to get a closer view of various stars and even neighboring galaxies 😃
All in all, an enjoyable evening out here in the high desert 🏜

Review for January 31st 2022. Prime desert Woodland Preserve is located in West Lancaster on 35th Street west. It is a remarkable Little Gem hidden away from most of the Public's View. Everyone should have an opportunity to come visit this wonderful little hike Trail. When it snows, it is definitely very beautiful. I was able to see some snakes and jackrabbits today. But according to the trail information, you can also see Bats, coyotes, and desert scorpions to say the very least. I'm not guilty, to say that I absolutely love the wildlife.

Beautiful little park in the middle of the neighborhood. Great place to go for an early morning run/walk. The animals are all milking about around that time. Be careful as it is a preserve there are LOTS of ants, just step over their trails and you will be fine. Bring plenty of water!

Nice place for a walk. Lots of rabbits and hares. 2 miles around if you walk the perimeter. Less if you use some shortcuts. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. My favorite place to walk, here in town.

Best place to have piece of mind and unsettle. It's peaceful and tranquil. Beware of rattlesnakes but it is beat yo jog here if you don't want to get hit by a car in the desert.
