American Way Thrift Store

Today I saw my first Smash & Grab at the American Way Thrift Store in Lancaster .

I was browsing and because the store is closing, it was empty. I did see a man with an arm full of items in his arms but I thought nothing of it … I just figured he was shopping.

Out of no where the Cashier begins yelling, frantically waving her arms and shes going in circles. I look up, and I see the guy quickly walking out the front door with his hands full of clothing. And just like lightning he begins to run 🏃‍♀ fast!! At this very moment I quickly follow so that I might try to offer to pay as I was assuming he was unhoused … and probably cold.

But in a blink of an eye, (At this time, the Cashier is calling whom I guess was the Manager) the guy jumps into a newer grey vehicle and they race off.

What shocked me was that this “Manager” jumps in his beautiful Grey Truck (I am now behind in my car) and he chased after the Suspects. The Suspect was running stop 🛑 signs and speeding through streets with the “Mansger” in hot pursuit … over Thrift Store donations .

I am still thinking about that “Manager” and how he risked his own life for items that were donated by the public and not at all worth losing your life over. He could have lost his life today.

PS THIS STORE IS CLOSING, going out of business. I will forever miss you. My mom and I have great memories here. 2/6/2024

The Antelope Valley has many many good thrift stores to shop at. Especially the American way. Thank you guys. Review for August. I like coming in here once in awhile to stop. To see what I can find. Every time I come here it's a different experience as far as the variety of the stuff that I look for. I'm not guilty, to absolutely say that I appreciate this place being open. And I really appreciate the customer service from the staff. They are very nice and very quick to call somebody when I want to take a look at the DVDs inside the display case. Thank you so much

Best thrift in the whole av in my opinion the place is HUGE they have tons of new furniture & just the biggest selection of everything else everything’s super well organized.

This was my absolute favorite thrift store in town. So sad it’s closed its doors.

They have a special discount every day other than the color of the tag. Student, senior or early-bird and 30% on weekends.

You should never have to pay the price marked on the tag.

My home and closet are FULL of items bought at American Way!

Great pricing, especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays (1/2 off clothing with certain color tags). Only down side is that there are no dressing rooms, but I typically try things on over my clothes in the back with the mirrors.
Their new furniture section is amazing as well.

I've been shopping here for years. It's a wonderful place if you have a family on a budget, are a senior or just looking for nice new and vintage clothing. They have daily specials up to 50% many items. There's a great selection of household items and furniture too.

Always a great shopping experience when I visit American Way Thrift Store. Today I was able to purchase a Coach Bag in nearly New condition for 18.00 dollars.
Such an amazing deal. 80% less for the same exact bag I wanted on Ebay. This is my go to store to find any and everything rather I am looking for specific items or not. 😄

I have always had a good experience with this thrift store. It is large but not over crowded. The prices are great and they have specials all week. The variety is good and the store is well stocked. I would recommend this place to everyone who needs to buy secondhand goods!

I've been coming to this thrift store since the late 90s. It's always been great to shop here. I now live in Los Angeles with plenty more thrift shops sure, but none compare to this shop. I always find something here, I even go out of my way to come to town and I'll leave the store satisfied. Thank you guys for always being great.

This thrift store is cheaper than the Goodwill. Every now and then I will find some good finds. Lately they have expanded it so its bigger now. I've been coming to this thrift store for about 10 years now. The only other one I know of is in Burbank which I visit when I'm out there.

I love this thrift store really good prices good things. Especially the days when they have 50 and 30% off. They have a little bit of everything from modern to antiques.
