Fenton Herriott Vineyards

Great winery! We were greeted by a very friendly staff member who gave us all their tasting options. They offer a full "guided" tasting inside their tasting room or flights that you can take into their outdoor seating area. For their flights (5 wines), you can pick a red, white, red/white, or their special reserve. The flights are $15 ($20 for their special wines) and they will give you credit towards buying a bottle.
Since we brought a picnic lunch, we opted for the flights so we could sit outside and enjoy the day. I'm generally more of a red person but I really enjoyed their whites, especially their 2021 Chardonnay.
It's not the biggest winery so I could imagine it getting a little packed on the weekends. Give them a visit, I think you'll enjoy it.

We had a lovely experience at Fenton Harriott winery today. The staff Grace and Shaylene were so pleasant and help. We enjoyed their wine and bought 2 bottles and played bocci on the most perfect day. Definitely recommend!

I brought my wife and daughter on a Sunday afternoon, it was a very idyllic and wonderful little vineyard! It was spacious and very accommodating with a wonderful atmosphere. The wine wasn't too expensive and the service was top notch!

Cannot recommend more highly. My family will certainly be back!

I love this place! Deb in the tasting room is awesome and so outgoing. I've been a wine club member for years (this is the club membership that has outlasted all others). I love that most of their wines have a very distinct "Fenton Herriott" flavor that stands out. They do fun activities and social offerings where the owner cooks the food and everything. Wine club has flexibility. Definitely recommend checking it out. I love to bring friends out.

Every January Fenton Herriott holds an event called "Blending with the Wine Maker". We attended this year for the first time. They had 4 wines to sample from the barrel and then set you loose with your graduated cylinder and beaker to blend away. You have 3 chances and then submit your best blend for a blind taste test by the group. The prize for the best blend is 4 bottles of your choice. We may have had a better time than most because...we won. What an honor to have them bottle our blend for the "Friends Blend" available in the tasting room.
We'll be back next year to defend the title. Come on up and give it a try. The Staff... awesome, the wine... something for everyone well and worth the trip to Placerville.

Hostess was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to relax, nice atmosphere and courtyard looked very inviting. Was really hot today, so we hose to taste inside. Great selection of wines. Chardonay was our choice today, but a handful of others were also so wonderful and tasty. Would go back again.

What a fantastic visit. Today we tasted with Debbie and Nathan and the wines were wonderful, and learned so much about the wines and winery. They were really busy and still made us feel well taken care of. They were great! All the wines were terrific…don’t miss the Rose and Syrah!

Beautiful setting, friendly and knowledgeable staff, & great wines. I don’t normally like or drink whites but I LOVED theirs.

I attended one of their “wine down Wednesday’s” and had a blast. Yoga, wine tasting, all while surrounded by beautiful scenery... you can’t go wrong!

Views that will make you want to pull out a camera and tasty wines to go with it.

The grounds are gorgeous and the reds are delicious.

The staff was very nice and friendly. Including the small fluffy greeter.

Fenton Herriott is our favourite winery in Apple Hill and we've been wine club members for many years. Debbie is one of the main reasons that we have participated in events and made a point to stop into the tasting room when we are in the area.

The wines are always high quality, refreshing, current, and suitable for personal drinking as well as gifting. We've introduced many friends to FH through gifting wine.

Events at the winery are also a great time, especially during COVID-19 times. They are creating a safe outdoor atmosphere for guests to enjoy food and beverages in a socially distanced way, right there in the vineyard.

Guy (the owner) is so friendly and always makes a point to talk to us when we are there for events, and as mentioned, Debbie is a real treasure and she knows all her wine club members and regular visitors on sight.

A real joy to visit every single time!

Deb met us at the door, inviting us in with a big welcoming smile. We tried ALL of their wine and had trouble picking which one we liked the best. Well, we ended up buying a mixed case with almost one of every kind, having them ship it to Texas. Meeting the wine maker was a treat, too. This vineyard is small, but packs a big punch. Stop by, it'll be a real treat!

My favorite winery! I joined the wine club, their wines are so good. And their staff is very welcoming. Going up soon to lick up my shipment (good excuse to go regularly)

It was my firts time there or doing wine testing for that matter. From the moment we got there both the ladies were so friendly and my girl friends and I had a great time. We will for sure be going back.

We always hit Fenton Herriott winery during the El Dorado Passport weekend. Great wine, delicious pairings, barrel tastings and wonderfully kind staff. This year was no different, I bought a bottle of their Chocolate and Cherry dessert wine (YUM!!).

Beautiful spot. Covered patio with picnic tables and bocce courts. And of course good wine. Lovely place to spend an evening. Always clean and well maintained.

We love going to Fenton Harriot. The wine is great, but Debbie, one of the ladies that works there, she is such a special lady. We go to say hi to her just as much.

Had a great time as always. The staff is beautiful and accommodating. Had a great time bottling our own wine. They never faile.
