Chango’s Bar & Grill

I really was hoping to find a place that can satisfy my craving for Chipotle while in Carbondale. And man am I happy about finding Changos!! I really enjoyed their burrito. The meat is well seasoned, not dry at all. I was very satisfied. Very tasty & fulfilling. The prices are very reasonable as well! I was really hungry after a hard workout so I got a 14” burrito, double meat ($2.00) and guac ($1.25). It only was $15 and it came with chips. They also have 8” and 12” burritos too that are even cheaper. Acceptable customer service, nothing to really brag about but that’s irrelevant. The food was good. I am a big fan.. catch me here every week! Lol

I'm thankful for a local, enhanced alternative to Moe's (and restaurants like it- Chipotle, Qdoba, etc). Chango's will always be my first option in Carbondale.

Chango's does an excellent job of bringing good, authentic Mexican flavors like barbacoa and chicken tinga to the very popular burrito assembly line style of restaurant.

They offer all the standard and upgraded sides like multiple bean/rice options, grilled peppers/onions, queso, and fresh veggie/herb toppings and do all of them very well. In addition to allowing you to create a taco, nachos, quesadilla or a bowl, they also offer the option to create a torta (Mexican sandwich).

Of course you always get a serving of fresh tortilla chips and salsa with your order and can complete the meal with a great cup of horchata. It's a must try on the downtown strip of Carbondale!

We tried their food for the first time yesterday and it was so good! I ordered the Carnitas tacos and the meat was very tender, juicy and flavorful! My s.o. had the steak quesadilla and he loved it! He had never had Carnitas tacos so I let him taste mine and he fell in love with it! Needless to say, we ordered some to go as well lol. The staff was very friendly as well. I will be coming here for mexican food from now on 😁

Wonderful food and very sweet people who run it. Cute family! They make amazing burritos and things are actually made from scratch. Best steak I've had at a Mexican restaurant by far. Their queso is to die for and they are always incredibly generous with their chips and salsa that they give on top of the food!

Food was absolutely impeccable. Worth the wait if there's a line. Some of the best cooks in Carbondale. Infinitely better than the other build-your-own style options in town.

The steak nachos are superb! I always get delivery to my workplace, and they are always early. The employees and delivery drivers are always very kind and friendly. Prices aren't too bad either. Highly recommend you try them at least once!

We order nachos or burritos the best food I had. It's always hot, the meat is tender and seasoned well. Chango's always have our order right. A+ , They have ranch doritos and nacho cheese doritos as well. Excellent!! The burritos are huge. 😊😊

Best kids meal value!!! $3.49 includes drink and a generous helping of food! All four of my boys, 11, 8, 6 and 4, were filled up. Normally we have to purchase extra meals. Workers were very nice! Very clean! Great food!! We will come back!!

Caught a train in Carbondale Illinois and had time to look around for a restaurant, loved this place, fresh made food, good selection, clean, great staff, hope I get back that way again definitely gonna eat there again

Great welcoming place, with great staff, and even better food. Always made exactly to order and they always go above and beyond. I can't recommend this place enough. I eat here regularly and got to say they never let me down

Ordered for delivery. Food came quickly and piping hot. One of our bowls got left out the order but called and they handled it professionally. Super good!! Beats Don Taco hands down.

I was looking for late night food (like tacos) one time and my friend sent me here. I've stopped going to other places because they blow the others out of the water in terms of food quality. I've been there for lunch and dinner, and my only 'complaint' is that it can get a little slow to ordering at lunch, but that's because each customer has their own customization to their meal.

The owners are extremely nice people and the food is amazing! I will be coming here a lot more often. If you’re in Carbondale, Chango’s is a must have! Best quesadilla in town! Queso and salsa are to die for!

Love their food! Delivery guys are always courteous. If you want some delicious tacos try Changos! Best Mexican/Southwest food in Carbondale. Hands down.

Edit: not changing score but...placed order on 3-11-21 on EatStreet and accidentally ordered the wrong meat. I called within 2 min and was told by the very young man that it had already been made even though I had offered to pay the difference. I then called back upset and said to just cancel it if I had to pay for the wrong order. Being upset I called a third time and asked to speak with management. They fixed it. Now I am going to give the money in cash to replace the thrown out order because I was made to feel bad. Whoever answered the phone needs to be evaluated and trained in customer service. I have orders dozens of times and now I’m hesitant. Maybe this employee needs to go away.

Best place ever to eat... Always so kind and good personality employees... Even the new girl is awesome ... Recommended for everyone to eat here!!!

This place is very equivalent to Chipotle! Very clean environment and very nice staff. They give you lots of chips to eat with your meal. Personally I love their Guacamole Very fresh and delicious. Highly Recommended.

Love the atmosphere and how clean the dining area is. Delicious food and friendly people!! Always fresh and you can tell its managed very well. Definitely in my top 3 favorite places to eat in Carbondale.

The taco and nachos we ordered were fantastic. The service was fast and prices were reasonable.
