We wanted to thank the wonderful Happy Tails team for the wonderful and excellent attention to our Harley... the doctor and the nurses, even the girl at the reception are wonderful... thank you very much... many blessings... They helped us with Harley's ears, and she is recovering and very happy...

My mom brings her dog here and she says that Happy Tails is the best veterinarian around NC. I’m bringing in my dog today. I’m so excited for my dog to meet new people

Happy Tails has been treating both of my cats for about the last year and a half, and they are outstanding. The whole staff is very patient, kind and super friendly. I always feel comfortable and I know my pets do too! Dr. Rodriguez has been amazing with treating everything from ear infections to GI issues in both my cats and I have nothing but great things to say about her and everyone else! I always leave feeling well informed and knowledgeable. No matter how many questions I ask, all of the staff take the time to welcome them and make sure I get the answers I need. They implement a fear free practice as well which was my initial attraction to them as a vet! The prices are very reasonable and they are always very transparent about potential costs. I know my pets are getting the best care I can offer them by taking them to Happy Tails!

The BEST Vet I've ever experienced, and there are some great vets out there.

Happy Tails' bedside manner is beyond remarkable. Moxy actually gets excited to go to the doc. I don't even think she realized she had a couple of vaccinations on her first visit. It's a team effort, the whole staff is so genuinely kind and happy to see your fur buddy.

I do not think that I could possibly express how grateful that I am for the incredibly warm welcome we received from every staff member we encountered at Happy Tails! Hands down, 100%, the most comfortable that my pups and I have ever felt during a veterinarian visit in our 11+ years together. I WILL NEVER STRAY OR GO ANYWHERE ELSE! The team at Happy Tails was professional, personable, friendly, and beyond AMAZING! Every moment, from start to finish, was absolutely flawless! The loveseats in the examining rooms make you feel comfy and at home. Dr. Rodriguez and the tech. Layla were gentle, taking their time to listen and get to know Riley and Mocha. The doggie treats were a big hit with Riley.....he can't wait to come back!
They asked so many questions and never once did we feel rushed or like we were just a #. Thank you! Thank you for making it such a fun and positive experience! The communication, follow-up emails, and texts were impressive and on point. I NO longer have to doubt/worry about my babies being in great hands. Happy Tails is easily the best vet in the area. I feel like they care about my cat the same way I do. It’s one of just a few fear-free clinics so it’s not traumatic for your animals. They move slowly and have never used heavy restraint or scruffed my cat. I was worried that she would be nervous, so they gave me some calming medication to give her ahead of time. During a blood draw on her first visit, she was a bit apprehensive so the doctor put her in a cat swaddle, which kept her calm and I think made her feel safe. They do everything in the room with me during the visits, but since they are fear free I trust that If they had to take her to the back to do treatments, they wouldn’t force my cat to do anything. Their staff is friendly and their services are not overpriced.

As a bonus they employ vet students as assistants and techs and many of the employees are bilingual speaking both English and Spanish. And it is privately owned by Dr. Catala, so I know I’m getting personalized care that isn’t controlled by a large corporation and that my money is going to support a locally owned business.

I moved to Apex in July of 2021 and soon after brought my senior dog Smudgett to live with us. I never could’ve expected the real love and care they show. They made us feel very welcome every time we came to visit them. This is such a kind and personal office staff and I couldn’t have asked for better. Dr. Cátala and all the ladies there are the best and helped me give Smudgett a long and happy life ❤

Went for our first visit, which was included two vaccines and ear medication for what turned out to be a yeast infection. The whole visit was fantastic—my three year old Coton de Tulear was welcomed warmly and handled gently and with genuine care. All the treatment was done in the room with me present feeding Moppie his favorite treats. The doctor was fabulous and answered all my questions. We look forward to being part of this practice—we have finally found our Fear Free Certified Vet! As a final note, my Coton has walked in and out of clinics before. In this one, he wanted to explore and at the end he was in no rush to get out! To me that is a clear sign he was at ease!

First time there with my Dog and we love it. Wonderful, friendly Staff. The Dr. Is fantastic. She takes time for the Patient, answers all your questions, has good advice. I am so happy that I found this Animal Hospital.

Prior to going to Happy Tails, we took our greyhound to a large, local veterinary hospital. We noticed our dog wasn’t using her hind leg. On her paw pad, we seen a puncture mark and she’d cry when we’d put pressure on it. After several visits over several weeks, the large vet practice took X-rays and spoke to a specialist who recommended we cast our greyhound for 9 months due to calcification of her tendon. This process would require multiple vet visits and vet bills while they monitored our dog. We kept expressing that we felt our dog had a foreign object lodged in her paw pad and kept directing their attention to the puncture mark, but our concerns were disregarded. We decided to get a second opinion at Happy Tails Veterinary Hospital and we are so thankful we did. Dr. Cátala took her time, provided a full physical of our dog, and looked over her entire medical history. She listened to our concerns and agreed with our gut instinct. She found our dog’s pain to be coming from the paw pad and not the leg. Dr. Cátala scheduled our greyhound for surgery the very next morning, which was actually Christmas Eve. Our dog had been in pain for several weeks while our previous vet gave us poor advise. Dr. Cátala performed surgery on our greyhound within hours of our visit on a holiday nonetheless. Dr. Cátala found glass in our dog’s paw pad and provided us the specimen. Our dog is finally on the road to recovery all thanks to Dr. Cátala! She has earned our trust and now our loyal business, as well as the business of our extended family members and their pets. Thank you so much, Dr. Cátala!

I was pleasantly surprised by this small vet practice, Happy Tails, when I took in my scaredy cat Satchmo for extensive dental work. The vet was amazing, thorough and gentle (my cat is so terrified of even being picked up so we were nervous to bring him in and it has been YEARS since he'd been seen!). They were kind enough to give me a calming med for him the night before his exam when my regular vet would not, insisting on seeing him before he got meds (understood, but this is a cat who has to be chased around the house and will lose his urine once we grab him). So I really appreciated their proximity to my home, their listening to me and providing some help for my terrified cat, their professionalism (Sarah at front desk is incredibly professional and competent!) And the vets very good care of my baby. He had to have all his teeth removed but came through with flying colors. They even checked in afterwards to make sure he was doing ok. Highly recommend!

My wife and I took our dog to Happy Tails for the first time on 10/5/22. From start to finish it was an "Outstanding" experience! The staff are friendly and professional. Dr. Catala and Sydney provided superb care for our pet!

Friendly staff and Dr. all very caring of the pets you bring. Quick with the checkup results/diagnosis and recommendations.

We have enjoyed having our three pets (2 dogs, 1 cat) cared for by some dedicated vets over the years. None has been as caring as Dr. Catala and her staff. From the routine to the sad necessity of allowing a pet to pass she and her fine staff have provided loving and gentle care.

Took my dog Theo here for the first time last Thursday and for a follow up visit yesterday.
The office is so nice and clean. Dr. Catala and her staff were so friendly. Dr. Catala really took her time to examine Theo, answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. We're so happy and grateful to have found such a nice, knowledgeable and compassionate vet for our dog.

Dr. C and the staff at Happy Tails were so amazing when I took my dog in after she developed a bad-sounding cough. Dr. C has such a warm and bright personality and you can really tell she loves what she does and wants to do well by every pet that comes in. She’s very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions, and even helped me when I had to make some tough decisions. I will be bringing all of my dogs here because I really trust her and the staff to take the best care of my pets!

New puppy, a thousand questions one quick introductory meeting and I knew we were set for good!! As easy as that...!

Sophie was amazing in helping answer all the questions and welcoming our new Sheepadoodle. She was amazing with the pup and he now dotes on her.

Dr.C is amazing, she is quick in responding. Takes time to answer questions no matter how silly and most importantly ours you at ease! She cares and that is hard to come by these days.
When our eight year old meets her and is convinced that becoming a vet is the right career choice, you know she is good for the family!

Clean facilities, ease of setting up appointments, incredibly fast response to emails. We are so happy we have these guys and their amazing service so close by.
Definately would recommend them!

I just have to say that this is an amazing vet! You should definitely give Dr. C a try. She is informative, patient to all my questions and really cares about the animal. She offers options but never makes me feel pressured to buy something. In all my appointments she has spent ample time examining my pet and just spent nearly 25 minutes on the phone with me reviewing blood results and options. She even spent time with me on questions and options for my other cat who I have not taken in yet.

I can't recommend this establishment enough!

Wonderful experience for our first visit. Especially liked the natural light and couch in exam room. Completed checkout in exam room, always a plus but extra helpful when we're all trying to give each other extra space. Everyone we met was caring and knowledgeable. Appreciate a vet who doesn't jump to expensive tests and imaging immediately. My dog was not feeling well but he perked up for all the attention and treats.
