Mandolin

I held a bridal shower in Mandolin’s private room. The room was beautiful with lots of light and held our group of 21 women well. Michael our server was excellent! Very personable and so helpful. The food was delicious. Every dish came to the table warm and oh so tasty too! I will definitely be back to try the other dishes.

I’m not sure where Mandolin sits in my top 10 Raleigh restaurants, but it’s definitely in there. I’ve been to Mandolin 4 times in the year and a half I’ve lived here in Raleigh and every time the service has been great and the food has been delicious and beautiful. My most recent visit for brunch was no exception. House made bloody mary was on the spicy side which is exactly the way I like it and a perfect brunch drink. I had the Panzanella salad with fried chicken and my wife had the country sausage Benedict. Everything was perfectly seasoned. My wife made fun of me for stopping just short of picking up my plate and licking it to get every last bite. And I’m not a home fries fan typically but Mandolin’s home fries are next level. I’m guessing they double fry them because they have a perfect crispy outer crust and filled with melty potato goodness underneath. Mandolin is always a good time.

Service was excellent - be mindful that this restaurant is for foodies! Order dishes with minimal substitutions so that you can enjoy the meals with their full flavor profile and intention. You’ll be happy you did!

My husband and I shared a 51oz Ribeye that was cooked perfectly.

The oysters were so clean and fresh- the best I’ve ever had.

And our server was phenomenal. Overall just a top notch experience in a beautiful restaurant. Couldn’t have asked for more.

You guys let us such a great night and memories. We try different things, Cesar salad, beets salad, pasta, meat, desserts and everything was very good. With a very nice concept, and also with a very good kitchen, the ambience is very elegant but at the same time zero pretentious which make us feel very comfy. It’s good to go to a very good place without feeling obligated to dress super nice just to go eat, I very much liked the concept farm to table you offer and I can say all food was very good and excellent quality. The wine we tried was also very good. Service and employees were very kind and nice! Thank you! I would like to upload more pictures but some dishes couldn’t make it to the picture because they were delicious!

Great service and food! Our waitress was great! A lil surprised they were somewhat empty for a Friday night based on the amazing meal and ambiance that we experienced. We started with the octopus, amazing, loved the pickled mustard seeds! The panzanella salad which I wanted a touch more dressing but everything tasted great. Don't get me started on the lil cornbread muffins 😋. However, the star of the show was the fried chicken! So moist and juicy, prob one of the best I've had in Raleigh. I didn't love the waffle but I didnt need the carbs anyways 😅. Also, the greens and mushrooms were tasty too. We ended the night w the chocolate souffle which could have been a touch sweeter but was nice and warm, like a mix between and lava cake and brownie. I will definitely be back!

A very elegant and simple restaurant to enjoy with your friends, spouse and family. The food was fresh and delicious and our staff was very accommodating. Parking can be tight in their adjacent lot but another lower level lot is available as well as street parking. My wife and I shared the gazpacho and BLT salad. The vegetables and fruits are locally grown and super fresh. Our entrees included the grilled chicken leg and a pasta dish. Both were wonderful. We ended our meals with two delicious desserts (chocolate souffle and caramel cake). I've visited Mandolin on two other occasions and was just as satisfied. It's not a large restaurant so make reservations to ensure a table, especially on the weekends.

I’ve had the opportunity to visit Mandolin a few times post pandemic! And I can say the restaurant hasn’t changed since before covid and maybe even better! The restaurant sits perfectly in the oberlin neighborhood and is walkable for those who live close by. The parking isn’t all that great but once you find a spot you are in for a treat!

Every time we enter the restaurant all of the employees are masked and the restaurant + bathrooms are immaculate. We have never gone and the restaurant wasn’t clean! And I love how fresh flowers greet you at the door. The last time we were there they had fresh yellow roses!

Catch of the Day with Clams, Sweet Potato Vadouvan

Grilled Chicken Leg with Freekeh, Andouille, Cabbage, Tomato

Farro Pudding with Figs, Orange, Mint

The Catch of the Day was Tile fish! Our server, Kelsey was absolutely amazing! She was very attentive to us and made sure we had everything that we needed. For Cocktails we had:

NURSE : Sparkling Wine, Angostura Sugar Cube, Ginger-Apple Cider Reduction

Husbands choice Amaretto Sour : Which wasn’t on the menu but they made it for my husband.

All in all our visit here was amazing! I am so happy that gems such as this restaurant still exist! If you are looking for the perfect date night spot this is it! And we have also brought our 7 year old here as well!

What a great little place. The service amazing and people were super friendly! The atmosphere was great (date night!). The food was amazing! I had octopus to start and the special, soft crab on Farro (the sauce was so flavorful and unique and we loved it!). Knowing how great the food and whole experience was, I think next time we're going to try the ribeye. Can't imagine how great that's going to taste (mouth watering!)

I had a great experience at The Mandolin. This was my 4th or 5th time coming to dine with them. The parking can be limited and difficult with a busy rush or on the weekends, but the ambiance and the food make it worth it. I had the BBQ pork sandwich with pulled pork and thought it was more than filling. I enjoyed the fresh, handmade biscuits and fresh jam that was provided. Nothing but high praises for The Mandolin.

Went back after years, still the same taste and service. Our waitress Meagan was amazing. Though she was new, she was very knowledgeable and helped us get a gist of what each dish, cocktail and dessert are like. Had good food and great time

From the outside this restaurant looks like nothing special, and then you step in! It was special from the greetings at the door when we walked in, to the quaint little table for two we were seated at. Our waitress Alisha was prompt and phenomenal. The food! Oh my goodness! No disappointment there. We had the seared pork belly and shrimp that for an appetizer. We then had the biggest steak(shared) between the two of us cooked to perfection. I had no room for anything else other then a lovely cup of coffee. All in all, a lovely time in a lovely restaurant.

This was an amazing dining experience. Our waiter was fun and inviting, knowledgeable and experienced, one of the best waiters I've had in a long time. The dishes won't be forgotten. We had oysters on the half shell as an app, and they were probably the freshest in the city. The drinks are all amazing. This is a must do, but be prepared to pay for that level of service

Family dinner w/ my husband, two kids and their significant others. 5 star based on what everyone else had at the table and the ambiance. The service was pretty good, more like a 4 star. I was very underwhelmed with my meal..wrong night to pick a vegetarian dish. However, others had - the vermillion snapper fish special, a bone-in ribeye, chicken and waffles, steak frites which they all said was absolutely “amazing - best mean in a LONG time and worth the money”. However, I I had the new Falafel dish which the waiter said was “delicious”.... trust me, it was not (1 star rating). It’s not a normal round falafel ball, it was more like a wedge...over seasoned and dry. Bummer…. Clearly picked the wrong thing.

Again, based on everyone else - absolutely worth it. I”ll have to give it another try when we’re back in town...and pick a meat dish.

Chicken and waffles are amazing - love the collards and mushroom sides! Loved the ambiance. Great service and fun cocktails. Will definitely go back to try other menu items! (Steak with friets in the background)

The food available is incredible. It is a limited menu. Really limited. The service is awesome. The pork chop and bone-in Ribeye are about the best you've ever had. The dining room is crowded, and the patio is over run with street noise. So don't expect to have a deep serious conversation unless you want to repeat yourself a lot. Specialty cocktails have been really good, but it seems a basic old fashioned is different every time I older it.

Everything on the menu here is delicious. The chicken fried pork chop on the brunch menu hit. It was perfectly crispy but also juicy and tender. The flavors were well balanced and the Sunnyside egg on top just kicked the whole dish up a notch.

I had an incredible dining experience at Mandolin! The farm-to-table concept truly shines through in every dish, and the ambiance is delightful. The standout of the evening, though, was the impeccable service provided by Michael. His attentiveness and knowledge of the menu added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. I highly recommend Mandolin for a memorable dining experience!
