Harlem Branch Library

'Knowledge is power'

I have neglected to review this feature of Harlem which shouldn't be overlooked.

When we moved here, Harlem's library was what now (to my understanding) is an Art Center of some sort? Though it is a very nice cottage style domicile, it was easy to miss as an actual library.

We were elated when there were plans to build a larger facility- one that could hold more books and host larger functions.

My children, now grown, were always avid readers. They enjoyed exploring libraries in many states and they were excited about it, too.

It IS a very nice library. The seating is good, the selection is SO much better than it had been, and the people who are there are very kind.

It is a joy that education and reading was a priority for the community.

Though we don't make it in as much as we should- as I tend to purchase books myself 😆- and my DH doesn't read as he used to- my kids will sometimes still come over and then go up to spend a few hours, browsing, lost in their imaginations.

I appreciate that it's a part of the community and I really do need to make it up there to see what's new on the shelves. 😏

I’m here for a month visiting my mother and I needed some Internet so I came to the library one day and stayed a couple hours. The next time I came I went into the same place I went before which is in the Teen area and set up my computer to do the same and one of the librarians welcomed me, she sought me out and noticed it was my second time there. She offered their study rooms that I could use and it would be a lot more quieter for me to work. She went out of her way to welcome me and let me know of the options and services they offer. I was very very impressed with her customer service. You Rock, Harlem Library!

Such nice people! They are so kind to everyone that walks through the doors! Just like a family.

My kids and I just moved to Harlem and love the library! We go there a couple times a week to find a toy butterfly. They love it!

Very relaxing and quiet I will be back♥

Great library and staff! My only complaint is that they sometimes lock the book drop off, which is REALLY ANNOYING. Who is going to bust through that to chance getting arrested for a handful of books and DVDs???

Went there to play Taps to honor all of those that sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

Harlem Library has a Caring Staff and activities are increasing every week for all ages.

The fact we have a new improved facility is a vast improvement in itself.

This library is so nice and quiet and they help u with everything u need !!!!!
