The Battlefield Country Store

This place is a weekly destination for new shakes! Of course, not every week, but check back often because they may have something that suits exactly what you want. There's a great selection of every tasty here, from food to coffee to Fraps and snacks as well as some excellent cooking and seasoning items. There's some seating but dress appropriately for the weather beneath the covered outdoor seating. There's plenty of space here. It's kid friendly. Their sandwich specials can be a little on the high-end but everything made here is 100% worth every cent.

The portions were huge and the banana split was filled with fresh fruits and nuts. The ice cream was fresh and very tasty without being overly fatty.

The tables and chairs in the exterior sitting area are very high quality which are also avaliable for purchase. The entire place has a carefully thought out design with attention paid to detail.

A top destination place for sweets and a must see and taste for all. I didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back.

We LOVE Battlefield! Their staff is always polite and helpful. We've enjoyed breakfast and lunch there. They usually have a special of the week for lunch and I have yet to be disappointed by one! I just tried a specialty milkshake for the first time and per usual it was a 5/5. I haven't tried their coffee yet, but it's next on my list. Highly recommend!!

This was a Harvest Host stop for us. Convenient location and easy to get into.
The store has so much! We got dinner and an amazing shake when we arrived. They opened at 7am the next day, so we grabbed breakfast for the road. Everyone was super friendly as well. We would definitely come back!

Love this place.
A lot of New Merchandise I haven't seen since my last visit. They have a small coffee cafe to drink your beverage. You can order Deli sandwich meals. A wide selection of different food items. Variety of beverages. Candy section. Some books for children. A section that has shirts and gifts and etc.
And amazing ice cream. Many areas to sit from indoor or outside. Public bathrooms.
Offer daily specials. Really great place to stop at especially if your traveling or just passing by.

Nice, clean store with your usual country store goodies. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy the cold sandwich, warm panini, coffee, tea, frappe, or ice cream you order at the counter. My only suggestion would be a better home decor section.

My Sweetie and I had lunch here today - We truly enjoyed the sandwiches - They are never shy with the meat and all the added extras - Hubby got his favorite for dessert, a whoopie pie and I got a mini fruit cake - It gets a little busy and a little crowded but it is well worth the wait

This place is ALWAYS delicious. Everyone is nice and helpful! Daytime during the week is best, because it's way too popular to go on the weekends! 🤣 With that said, you can always call and order your sandwich before if you have to go on the weekends. Word to the wise, unless you're a competitive eater, you may not fit both the special shake AND one of their sandwiches easily. Each have to be at least a 1000 calories of deliciousness most weeks. Highly recommend if you like food or ice cream. Lol.

We love Battlefield! The food is awesome, and the staff is wonderful. The ice cream is so good. I love their custom flavors. Their coffee drinks are the best

Lots of free parking, yummy chocolates, regular and sugar free. Lots of oddball products hard to find like oat flour. Best of all, HUGE sandwiches piled high with deli meat. I take a turkey sandwich home take a lot of the meat off to make 4 days of regular sized sandwiches. Great homemade bread on sandwiches too

Best bacon available anywhere, get you a ten pound slab!

UPDATE: They now have bulk steaks that are out of this world! See their Facebook page! This is a steak I won from them, but that doesn't change my honest review! It's a ribeye, my son pan seared it in garlic/salt/pepper/butter then finished it with the lid on to my idea of perfection. We all agreed it is better than any restaurant!

There are so many locally created/grown food here. I love the “home-grown” idea of the market.
The staff are very friendly.
I loved the local variety of the products. It was great seeing an in-house coffee stand and deli. I love this place and recommend buying anything local (specific to this store).

The food is outrageously great. Got a turkey and roast beef on sourdough with horseradish and ketchup. Thing was the size of my head!

Wife got a brakfast burrito. It was so big and good she ate the whole thing and feel asleep the rest of the drive. Can't beat silence like that at any price!!

This is on our must stop list whenever we are in Fredericksburg! You cannot go wrong with ordering anything from the maid to order sandwich to the ice cream sundaes!!! The fresh made bakery items are always a hit!! if you’re a fan of pickles I would highly recommend getting them from here! The broccoli slaw is a 10/10!!

Went in hoping to get a chicken bourbon BBQ sandwiches not realizing it was only a weekly special sandwich...being my first time there the lady working the counter kindly said thay was a couple weeks ago but we do have panini and blt as our special this week...she recommended the panini and I have to say it was delicious 😋!!! I had a turkey bacon panini with grilled red peppers and it was so stuffed with meet it was falling out before I could bite into it...awesome place with great food...I got my brother a pumpkin roll and myself a tub of runts hard candy as well...this place is awesome if anyone is looking for a good sandwich shop with lots of other food options as well as amazing milkshakes I say go take a look and walk away happy just like I did...totally worth the stop...keep up the good work battlefield!!!

Battlefield Country Store is always a family treat. Love the set up from the outside seating to the inside. You order ice cream outside or inside and a coffee bar and deli in the back. The food never disappoints. Great spot to roll up with the family and grab picnic bench and chill. Recommend Garlic & Cheddar Cheese bread in the bakery section.

The lady that took my breakfast order was super nice. Their food is soooo delicious and the sausage is out of this world you will never find a breakfast sausage like this in any grocery store, I mean it's literally out of this world delicious. 10 out of 10 highly recommend!!!!

The Battlefield Country store is everything you would expect from a country store. The aisles are filled with packaged containers filled with deliciousness. A great example is the powdered cheese that can be used as a seasoning or sprinkled over popcorn, which is also carried in just the next alsie. While there don't miss out on lunch! The Battlefield Country store has the largest sandwiches around. Be sure to check the specials before ordering. On this visit the special was the roast beef sandwich with onion soup dipping sauce. The sandwich large enough that the two of us struggled to finish it.

Super cute products and great milkshakes! Worth the trip

A mixture of "the general store" along with prepared food and the charm of simplicity that is not modern-commercial and an eclectic product mix, we visit for a change of product and for fun. Excellent farm style bulk bacon and may variations of products you simply won't find elsewhere, but it isn't just for the grocery list that is reason to visit - the prepared foods (sit down areas, and outdoor seating for warmer weather), very friendly staff and the relaxed styling of the building make this a fun place to visit anytime!
