Very beautiful and peaceful place. Enjoyed the view of the river going through huge canyons. Not too far from boise. Not only the destination but enjoyed the journey as well, roads leading to this place are surrounded by small mountains.

Stumbled into this spot by accident when visiting Birds of Prey refuge. Beautiful spot.with a very interesting history. Great museum, especially if you want to learn about electric supply/rural electrification.

Great picnic area. Boat/water access. Good views below cliffs for birds of prey.

Built in 1901, this dam produces enough power to supply 18,000 homes! It harnesses one part of the 1.000 mile Snake River. I shot several pictures of the massive cliffs that the Snake River carved out over time. Very beautiful!

Beautiful place! It was very peaceful when we arrived around noon on a Monday afternoon. There is a museum at the dam, but sadly it was closed. If you take a right just before you get to the actual dam, there is a decent dirt road that will take you about four miles along the river with campsites and many beautiful views.

A beautiful place to picnic and if visiting on Saturday between 10am and 4pm the museum is very interesting. A lot of history behind the dam and how it helped with irrigation in the area.

New huge parking for horses & trailers. Beautiful canyons, trails are Rocky in spots, but mostly soft sand and dirt. The horse "gate" from inside the parking lot to go onto the trail is not safe. They really should ask an equestrian when putting those in.

Nice place. It's a steep road to get down the canyon to the dam.

Free camping, free views. This place was beautiful to hike around, spend some time on the river, do some fishing, camp, be with nature and just appreciate the beauty that is Swan Falls.

Having swan falls just under 20 minutes from my home is a thing of beauty. Whether you want to cast your line in the water, go for a picnic, boat, hike, bike, bird watch, have a camp fire, ride atvs, camp over night, this area has it all. Being located just 20 minutes south of kuna, swan falls provides tons of activities for the outdoor enthusiast. And oh yea, there's also the hydro electric dam itself, which idaho power provides a unique indoors tour on saturday afternoons. A lot of work has been put into the swan falls area lately to spruce it up. Camping spots are more defined, with actual fire pits, the spots above the dam are very well maintained. I highly recommend a stop at dedication point before you go down into the lower river area. Very majestic sights, i like to think of it as Kuna's little grand canyon. Also if you can brave the dark, dedication point is a star gazers dream, as there is virtually zero ambient light that you get in the city.

Beautiful! Went on a weekday, so I'm not sure how busy it is on the weekends. Fairly empty on a Friday morning, though!

Always a blast to go to one of many favorite spots to do some fishing, today was smoky, muggy and a bit warm. Lots of tourism going on with folks paying a visit to one of Idaho's many historic sites, plus fishing here is a blast when the bite is on
