Bete Gris Beach and Roadside Park

This is a really beautiful sand beach. The water is shallow a long way out, and there are some nice waves. There is no parking lot, you just pull your car over on the side of the road. There are a changing room and restroom, and picnic tables.

Beauty as the sun rises
To kiss the eastern shore
Of the Keweenaw Peninsula

Into the cliffs and bay of Bete Gris

Lake Superior's waves rush

Our kids LOVED this beach. The water is shallow for quite a ways and the water isn't quite as cold as other lake Superior beaches. Pronounced "Bay Deh Gree"

Beautiful sandy beach with gorgeous views. Be kind to the environment.

The water color here is always nice no matter what the weather will be. Washroom is a big problem here. But good for having get together or bonfire at night. make sure to take bug repellent after evening.

This was a great pull off beach. Sand was white. I could spend hours there.

Beautiful, relatively secluded beach with clear, clear shallow water. It has a fairly clean bathroom and a changing place. Perfect place to hang out for the day.

We couldnt get the sand to sing but overall good scenery and nice beach. 3 big boats were on the water anchored out of the wind which was cool to see

Calm, sandy, lots of swimmers, the lake is beautiful as always. You can't go wrong!

Beach is fantastic. Soft, clean sand for a mile. Water was crystal clear and gradually deepened the further out you go.

Endless soft sand beaches, which continue out into the water, are an enjoyable day trip destination. Picnic benches are available, as is a onesie washroom. Adjacent to the washroom is a changing room.
This is also a great spot for launching canoes and explore the nearby shores of Lake Superior.

The best beach we found on our last day. Played with the dogs in the water for a few hours. Very shallow for about 20-30 feet then drops off

Very pretty beach. Parking is right off the road, very convenient. Long beach area so you can spread out if there are a lot people. Beautiful views, mix of sand and rocky beach area.
