Could not have been happier with the exceptional service I received from the trust department. Not only were they responsive and reliable, but they also showed genuine interest in managing my account. I had the most professional and polite service from the entire trust department. Their service made me extremely glad that I chose to do business with them.

I started banking with the First National Bank of Mont Dora a little over 10 years ago, this is the best. If you live in Lake County and prefer doing business with a bank that is locally owned and managed and supports their community both in charitable giving and volunteerism FNB is the one. Recently I became trustee for a family members trust. I couldn't have felt more supported in navigating this difficult and complicated process. Thank you to Janice Epaillard and her team for their help. I look forward to continuing this partnership.

The staff (specifically Ms. Rodriguez) are extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond to assist my mother and I. She made the transactions we needed to do as stress free as possible. She guided us with each issue and we never felt rushed. Highly recommend this bank and particularly this branch (Mount Dora- Hwy 441).

One of the most pleasant loan experiences of my life, FNBMD, and specifically our Loan Officer, Laura, were absolutely amazing, listening to our needs, and being honest every step of the way.

The FNBMD is an excellent small bank. I come from two generations of bankers and what I learned is that a small bank in a relatively small community is a much better choice? Why? Large bank affiliates are only in the business of increasing there assets through checking, savings, and span accounts that offer no interest. There business model is not developed for the wealth of the average customer. In former years, small banks throughout the US were the lifeline of the community. Businesses and residents could count on small individually owned banking institutions to provide funds for businesses and residents to live harmoniously. This all changed with the onset of interstate banking. What you see now in small towns across the US are closed up bank buildings that formerly served the community. This is very unfortunate and in my opinion is the very reason large scale businesses abandoned smaller communities for products and services which were shipped overseas. A small bank is much more conducive to the average person who is trying to start a business to stay in a community that is much more friendly and safe. Large banks are only in a community to increase there assets. I believe there will be a resurgence of small banks one day because the larger unfriendly banking institutions are way in over the debt limit and at some point will slowly be replaced.

My family originally stated Bank of Mount Dora to be trustee in the event of their death over 35/40 years ago when I was a minor to hold assents and carry out their protection representations at that time. Since then, the original trust documents had been changed by my family several times as that service was no longer needed. Recently, I wanted this same blanket of trust for my own daughter and called them to set an appointment. It’s now been three weeks with absolutely no contact from them whatsoever and it’s beyond concerning. I cannot imagine my daughter having these same issues in the event of my passing.
To hire a company known for this service only to be pushed aside and ignored makes me insecure about emergencies she may have in the future.
When I called again to speak to the actual CFO and head of trust administration to express my concerns, I was given a vague apology and it’s obvious they do not need our business which is fine. We shall find another Admin of trust.
I just want to warn anyone else in this position in case it is thought that this particular company cares about your heirs and would efficiently carry out your wants or needs for the future.
