1921 Mount Dora

A true hidden gem!
We stopped on our way out of Orlando and it was well worth the detour. It was one of the few places where you take your first bite of food, and have to close your eyes because of how well they prepared the food. (We ordered the lamb shank & Pork Rib Eye.) My husband claims that the place had to be doing some type of sorcery....

The surrounding area is an adorable small town. Perfect for walking after dinner.

My wife and I went to 1921 for brunch. I had an Old Fashioned Cocktail along with some Quail Poppers and the Prime Rib Sandwich.

The Old Fashioned and the Sandwich were excellent. The Quail was a little dry, but still pretty good.

My wife got the Waygu Burger which was really good as well.

This place never disappoints.

We had a wonderful meal at Mount Dora’s premium gastronomic establishment, 1921. Spencer provided the attentive and friendly service one would expect for a fine dining experience. I had the Wagyu burger and fries, while Kari sided with the pork belly and scallops. Both were well prepared as ordered and the wine complimented Kari’s meal. The circuses here are 1st class. The furnishings, bar and wall art are inviting and easy for a short meal or watching a long game. Well done!

My fiancé surprised me with a reservation at this restaurant. It did not disappoint. Cory was our waitor and the service was phenomenal and the food was even better!

Wonderful dinner, interesting menu, excellent service by Gary. A little pricey but well worth it. The Quail stuffed poppers…absolutely the best. Five stars

We returned for their prefix Magical Dining menu and we're NOT disappointed. At a base price of $60 per person with an additional $20 wine paring per course, everything was worth every single penny. The spectacularly delicious food highlights how perfect execution pairs stunningly with superbly chosen wines. We were wowed yet again. The final highlight of the evening was our server Jake who was so incredibly pleasant and attentive. He never let a water glass get less than half full and doted on us just enough to make sure all the details were perfect. We can't wait to return again. My only complaint is that they are all the way 1.5 house from me in Ocala. Ohh well, this restaurant is WORTH the drive!

we had such a marvelous time! this has been on our must-try list for a while, and now it’ll be a regular spot for sure. loved the artful touches from decor to plating to ingredients. i have a deep adoration of “farm-to-table” eating, and love the concept of ever-changing seasonal menus.

we loved nearly all of our dishes, although we felt the bucatini dish had too muted “clean” flavors last night. in contrast, all other dishes were packed with phenomenal flavors!

we can’t wait to return!

also the women’s restroom is GORGEOUS. whoever designed that needs an award.

We stopped on a Weds evening for a drink and light bites. We grabbed two seats at the bar and the bartender, Jamie, was fantastic. She was friendly and engaging, and didn't make us feel rushed as we took out time deciding on what we wanted to order.
We decided on several apps, and ordered raw & baked oysters, the octopus, and the shrimp pizza. Everything was phenomenal.

My parents took us out for brunch at 1921 and what an experience it was! The Beef & Tallegio Bagel caught our attention immediately — imagine biting into a juicy prime rib paired with creamy Tallegio and sweet caramelized onions. And those fries on the side? Crispy perfection. I had the Country Ham Biscuits N’ Gravy, with a hint of sweetness, paired with the savory biscuits and rich gravy, was pure comfort on a plate. The Parmesan hash browns composed the base and sunnyside eggs were just the cherry on top. Throughout the meal, the service was impeccable, making the brunch feel even more special. Such a memorable day with the folks! Can't recommend this place enough.

Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner here. Staff was great food amazing and ambience . It's part of the adjacent modernist art museum. Artwork from the museum graced the walls. Amazing glass chandelier too!

How have we missed this for so long. A priceless gem in downtown Mt. Dora. The outside is terribly plain. But instead is a beautiful, comfortable place. Just looking for a place to escape the heat, we sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and helpful. We ordered the happy hour white sangria and a happy hour Artisan Cheese plate with Plum Tomato Jam and Toasted Sourdough Bread. Good thing it was only $7 because it wasn’t much of a cheese plate. It was a single slice of cheese with jam and Texas toast. It tasted great but we were expecting a cheese plate. Anyway, we enjoyed our stay and will plan another visit.

This is culinary art to the nth degree! Their mixologist is a genius. The drinks look beautiful and they use unusual ingredients that only adds to the mystery and fabulous taste! Our waitress, Madison, was very warm and offered suggested pairings. I had the venison that was cooked to perfection, as was my husband's pork ribeye! Our hats off to the chef for his culinary masterpieces. They also have great bar and happy hour. 1921 is now on our list of favorites and we can't wait to go back!

We ate with my family, Thankgiving Dinner. What a treat. We willbe back next year. It was extradonarily delisious. 5 star everything all the way. The turkey was moist and awesome, everything was awesome!!!!!

Had a really nice date night with my wife here. Lovely environment. Lots of local art decorating the walls. The food was really good. I had the pork ribeye and my wife had the lamb. We were both really happy. The staff was super nice and accommodating. They helped with a dairy allergy and were very attentive. The drinks were good. Downtown Mt. Dora is very nice and I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

Went during Easter weekend. Service was great and so was the food. Ordered oysters, steak, breakfast platter and kids burger. All tasted great the sweet potato on the steak was a nice touch. Great garlic flavor on the oysters as well. Service took awhile getting our food but understandable due to Easter weekend.

I enjoyed dinner here a few weeks ago with some friends for the first time. The menu showcases an exquisite array of dishes that highlight the local ingredient list which was an interesting aspect of the menu I had not seen to that extent before. We sampled quite a few items, with our favorites starters being the buffalo milk burrata, lobster mezzelune pasta, roasted oysters and the apple butter rolls. For main dishes we had the NY strip, filet, wagyu burger and the monchong. The meals were great but the exceptional dining experience was made by the service we received. Our server Madison was very knowledgeable on the menu and answered all the questions we had, had fantastic pairing suggestions and ensured we had a pleasant experience throughout the evening. She was a true pro and is the reason we will return.

Beautiful wedding anniversary experience @ 1921 !! excellent service by Corey , the food was amazing ( short ribs were fall off the bone ) and the menu included our anniversary date at the bottom making us feel extra special on our anniversary! Thank you to all the staff at 1921 !!

My family and I came here this evening for my Mom's birthday, and everything was spectacular. The service, food, atmosphere, cleanliness, just all-around wonderful. My husband, Mom, and I all got the poached chicken, and the flavors that are married within the dish was just absolutely delicious. My Brother got the Wagyu burger, and my Sister-in-law got steak. We also got the rolls as a starter, and they were by far, the best rolls I've ever had. Everything seemed to be made with love which I appreciate very much. Katie Chipper, our waitress, was very attentive coming around refilling drinks, setting the silverware, asked if everything was okay and how we were doing. The restaurant is very clean, and artsy. It really is beautiful! There was a blown glass chandelier hanging above our table, which I thought was very unique. The bathrooms are also very clean, and have really good quality napkins so you only need one to dry your hands. My Husband and I are already planning on coming back because we loved it so much! Really great evening, and made my Mom's birthday special.

We are from St Petersburg and wanted to escape the city for your 3rd anniversary so we headed to Mount Dora to spend the afternoon and have a nice dinner. We made a reservation here based off of other reviews and we were not disappointed! This place is a big city, high quality, impressive restaurant in the heart of small town Florida. It’s decorated with unique artwork which makes the atmosphere fun and sophisticated but the amazing part is the food!! The menu changes daily. They list the local farmers and food producers in which they source their ingredients. We ended up not even ordering an entree because we were having far too much fun exploring other areas of the menu. The venison tartare was hands down one of the best dishes I’ve ever had! The baked oysters with pumpkin and golden raisins sounds odd and yet were amazing. The chocolate mouse was to die for. However, what impressed us most was the wonderful service. They were attentive, polite and went above and beyond bringing us an extra dessert made special by the chef. To top it all off , we had special printed menus with “Happy Anniversary” and our date.

My favorite restaurant to eat at anytime. Brunch or dinner every plate is delicious. The drinks are perfectly prepared. The octopus appetizer with the duck egg are one of the best plate I have ever tried. And of course the Black Dahlia cocktail. Totally recommend and for sure I’ll be back. Could be expensive but every plate is worth.
