Royce is, without a doubt, the best doctor I've ever had. The nurses are pretty amazing as well. I promise you, there is no one better, so if you need help, call him. 🙂🙂🙂

Thanks to Botox injections from Dr. Royce, I'm down from about 15, to only 1 migraine in 12 weeks! He listens and really cares for his patients. I highly recommend him!

Having worked in healthcare for 14 years, I know how damaging a negative review can be to a medical practice so I do not write this lightly. I have had chronic migraines since Jan 2011 and saw Dr. Royce from Nov 2011 to Dec 2020. He was personable, appeared to be knowledgeable, and shared that he was a migraineur himself. His staff were caring and courteous. Sometime in 2012, I was put on topiramate. I thought I was having side effects such as word finding difficulties and discussed this with Dr. Royce, but he told me that I was not experiencing side effects because I was on too low of a dose to have side effects. Within the next year, venlafaxine was added on. This was eventually switched to desvenlafaxine due to side effects. I would be on this regimen, along with rescues and muscle relaxers, for the next 10 years. In Dec 2013, I started having trouble thinking/concentrating, daytime fatigue, memory problems, speech problems, balance issues, muscle spasms, blurred vision, and worsened migraines. I went to many specialists and PCPs but none could figure out why I was experiencing these symptoms, which caused me progressive disability. I lost at least 2 jobs due to the trouble thinking and totaled 3 cars due to falling asleep driving. In Dec 2020, I started having a constant migraine, at which point Dr. Royce referred me to Diamond Headache Clinic. That experience was not helpful at all and caused me further medical harm. I went to Mayo Clinic in Apr 2022 for a second opinion, where I was told that the interaction and side effects of topiramate and desvenlafaxine were causing my symptoms. As soon as I started tapering off of topiramate and desvenlafaxine, it's as if the fog had lifted off the nightmarish existence of the past 8.5 years. My migraine symptoms reduced to a dull headache, I became more awake, I could think and concentrate better, my speech improved, my balance issues disappeared, and my muscle spasms were gone as well. It's infuriating to know that my medications were mismanaged for 10 years, and that it all started with Dr. Royce. If Dr. Royce puts you on topiramate or venlafaxine/desvenlafaxine BE VERY CAREFUL. Learn from my experience! He does have a good bedside manner, but that can be deceiving. Look at what happened to me. The amount of money I spent on my "treatment" is disgusting. I could have been saving for my son's college or retirement. But instead, I paid thousands, if not tens of thousands towards my own disability.

I've heard dr Royce is a great dr: I don't doubt that. He's my moms doctor and she loves him.

However he won't see me because I missed two apts. (first apt my daughter had a kidney infection and I rushed to er as she was very sick) second apt I missed was because I was admitted to the hosptial for a csf leak. I get that's his policy... but his patients are sick. I was looking forward to seeing this doctor and now because of unfortunate events in my life I am not able. I really think this policy is wrong to have. He has patients who might be admitted and more because they are SICK! I called and canceled my first apt letting them know my daughter had a kidney infection. I was not a no show. But for the second apt.. I was in the hosptial (admitted for 4 days) very sick. I couldn't stand without throwing up. Sorry, my first thought wasn't to call. But now I can't see this doctor. Part of being a doctor is having compassion and I'm very disappointed that this doctor has none.
