First and foremost. Thank you very much to everyone who took their time to review this hidden gem. Being born and raised Chicago allowed me to taste cuisine from around the globe. I have recently spent a lot of time eating and exploring Mexico.

I must say that on a good day, this place can go head to head with some of Chicago's best known family owned Mexican restaurants. Great portions, great staff, fresh food for a great price.

My favorites are the Steak burritos with extra meat. Chicken flauta dinner, Steak tacos and Menudo on weekends. Their breakfast are also very very delicious. Enjoy

They also have a full bar, gaming machines and a bakery if you have a sweet tooth.

What a great little restaurant. Was quite literally just passing through Rockford but needed to stop somewhere to eat. Not much to look at from the outside but the food is what counts and it was incredible. Amazing homemade chips and salsa. I had the chicken tacos dinner which was simply incredible. This is one of those little "finds" that I love discovering in my travels.

Wow what a Hidden Gem at Broadway and 11th Street. Had a steak burrito last night. I have to say it was almost like somebody's mother made this meal. My now go to for Mexican food in Rockford. Everything was five stars definitely will be back. They have an everyday special three tacos for six bucks. Can't wait to go back to try them. Along with my burrito I made it a dinner and got Spanish rice and refried beans. Normally when I order Spanish rice at a Mexican restaurant it's basically Bland there's really no taste to it it's orange colored and such and little specks here and there of corn and stuff like that but normally it's rather Bland and has no flavor. This Spanish rice actually had flavor I wish there was more on my plate and on top of that it was also in my steak burrito what a treat. Again five stars, will be going back there very soon, again my definite go to for Mexican food.

Fantastic authentic Mexican food. We had steak tacos and burritos. Meat was great, with great flavor and texture. Anytime I try a new Mexican joint, tacos and burritos are my go-to meals to see how they rate against the competition. El Pueblo is some of the best in Rockford. Great service as well which is becoming almost impossible to find anymore. My first time there but will absolutely not be my last. Can't wait to get back there and try something new.

We drive an hour here for the bakery and the adjoining restaurant as often as we can. And it is so worth it. There must be an old loving abuela in that kitchen because the food is GOOD. The cicina, pastor, chilaquiles verde have all been *chefs kiss*. Really enjoy this place. Highly recommend.

Edit: the roasted salsa they served with the chips was SO refreshing and light and delicious.

This place is hands down the best Mexican Restaurant in Rockford! Their 3 for $6 tacos are so delicious! Must try their pambazo! Everything is so affordable for a reasonably fair amount of food. Service is always great.

Great for Lunch! We had the Steak Burrito & the Chorizo Burrito. 🌯 Portions are hearty,ingredients are fresh, and full of flavor. Horchata is great also. For dessert we walk through to the on-site bakery.The desserts were fantastic.Glad we decided to go here..it was a great decision. And we will be we back.

Everything was fresh and you could taste the seasoning. The burrito was as big as your head. Excellent salsa's, they had brought out 4 different flavors to savor with our meal. We we're pleasantly surprised the quality of the food for the price.

We live in Rockford. Had a taco craving saw their sign 3 x 5 meaning 3 tacos for $5. Decided to stop in boy best decision ever. Food is amazing and the service is exceptional. We were greeted and took care of by the friendliest staff ever. Will be a regular customer.

True authentic Mexican food. They have the best taco special. My favorite are Al pastor and if you ever go for breakfast “Desayuno El Pueblo” is a must try.

This is a wonderful restaurant. I've eaten here numerous times and each time was excellent. Delicious food and fantastic service. One of my favorite things about this restaurant is the amazing waitress/manager/maybe owner (I've never asked) who is one of the kindest and most pleasant people I've ever met anywhere.

This place was slept on by me and my family! Great food at an affordable price! They make there guaq fresh just like Mexico classico! Hands down it beats allot of other authentic Mexican restaurants! Thanks guys we will be back again soon
