I must say that Mr. Porterfield is very patient and kind. They repaired my BMW 535 iXdrive, the engine literally blew up, and they replaced the engine with a hitch. The warranty company as usual was being slow and fighting the claim. But John was steadfast and unmovable and got what we needed to successfully get the car back on the road. It was a 2 1/2 month process and JP auto knocked it out the park. You are a true angel sir, as well as your gracious staff, and may God continue to bless you and your family and business 🙏.

The first great thing about JP was that every single person I interacted with was exceptionally nice. I was spoken to with such kindness and patience and every step of the process was made much more pleasant because of the very accommodating individuals. Secondly, they wasted no time diagnosing and repairing both of my vehicles. My truck runs like a dream now. When I first brought the truck home there was some air in the clutch and it wouldn't shift into gear. JP had the car towed back to the shop and fixed the issue that day. They handled everything so professionally and made my life so much easier. I highly recommend using this garage! Thank you JP

Our breaks were grinding pretty bad so we had to stop in Charleston over night because we were still 7.5 hours from home. Called several other places that couldn't fit us in to the schedule. JP's saw us right away and got us back on the road quickly. Everyone was friendly and the work was fantastic!

The most hardworking auto repair shop I've ever worked with. Never hassle you with things you don't need. Always honest and definitely try to give you a heads up on all vehicle maintenance, if they can. Johnny let me know 6 months before they needed to be replaced, that my brakes and rotors were going out just so I could be on the look out, price wise, for a good set.

I have known Johnny for many years and his family excellent work and good Christian people I take my car they're all the time to have it repaired they are a top notch garage they care about there customers they do good quality work very very satisfied!!!

We were driving home from a long trip. Our alternator went out when we still had over half way to go, 8 hrs. I called and asked if there was any way they could get us in that day, thinking it may be a day or two before they could even look at it, but they said 'bring it on!'... music to our ears! Very nice, personable people, and reasonably priced!!

This is my go to place when my car breaks down. The owner is sooo nice and the price is reasonable. They are easy to get into. I've never had to wait more than 2 days to get my car in and most of the time i get it in same day. Love these people and they are fast and reliable.

I've had many success stories with JP Auto Repair, 512 Russell St., Charleston, WV. Breaks, wheel bearings, inspections, charging air-conditioners and my personal favorite replacing a blown engine. All jobs completed as promised by friendly, knowledgeable mechanics and staff.

Took my car in for overheating and a few other issues, within the next three days I had some similar issues. Brought the car back and they fixed the issue (it was a separate part from the overheating) and they fixed the car again, the second time they didn’t charge me any labor because they should have caught it the first time, I was only charged parts. The water pump caused the overheating, the overheating then subsequently fried a sensor in a different housing. Two separate issues but they were great and fast and if they keep up this quality work they have a new lifetime customer.

Some of the kindest and most honest people I have ever had work done through. I recently moved here after living in TN for the past 10yrs and the folks at JP treated me better than where I came from!

My family and I have been going to JP as long as this place has been open. Not once have we come out with our problem not being addressed and fixed to the core. John is a fantastic mechanic with incredibly reasonable prices. Would recommend.

Good Christian man who runs a honest business. My husband and I use them every time we need something done. John has never steered us wrong. Always gives suggestions on how to save money. I would recommend this business to anyone!
