Honestly, this was unexpectedly one of the best things I've done in 2023. My sister took me here when I was visiting from Charlotte, NC, and I love oddities, but I was absolutely blown away by the history lesson I got during my visit. The owner is amazingly knowledgeable about the history of Dime Museums, and was absolutely hilarious in giving us our tour. You may ask yourself, why would I ever want to know about the history of Dime Museums? The bigger question is, WHY DON'T YOU KNOW THE HISTORY OF DIME MUSEUMS!!! I am not going to spoil anything about the tour, because this is something you absolutely need to do yourself, and as far as history goes, if you have ever been to any Museum anywhere, you have Dime Museums to thank for Museums existing in general. Red the Sword Swallower is also an absolute killer part of the show and has some truly amazing stories and knowledge that we were lucky enough to get him to share with us.

Pexcho's was an unexpected and delightful find. The oddities were outstanding and it was a very educational experience. I can't wait to go back!

I took my family there not knowing exactly what it was going to be like. The cost was just under $18 a person and the tour was over 2 hours long. Peter the owner was amazingly friendly and thorough. He treated my 10 year old daughter like she was his. At the end of the museum tour there was a blockhead sword swallower (pun intended) that performed. The oldest living sword swallower jn the country from my understanding.

Go there and support this wacky small business. Oh and he sells great coffee and espresso that crushes Starbucks and most definitely much cheaper.

Call or email to reserve a spot on the tour.

easily the COOLEST place I have been in my entire life!!! it’s hard to even put into words how amazing this place was.

the tour took about 2 to 2.5 hours but I could’ve spent at least 5 or 6 hours there looking at and learning about everything. there’s antiques and oddities everywhere, it’s incredible. everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable.

I’ve only been in augusta about a year but I’m disappointed I waited that long to check this place out. If you’re from augusta and have never been you need to check it out asap and if you’re just visiting you need to put it at the top of your list of places to go.

100000/10 experience and I’m so SO excited to visit again!!!

We stopped by during the Ironman weekend. This is an surprising interesting mix of learning the history of dime museums while experiencing a dime museum. We laughed, we learned and we’d definitely come back- it’s always growing and changing.

Incredible experience if you want something a little different. Set aside a couple hours, you definitely get your moneys worth. Also take a light jacket, it can get chilly in the exhibits on cold days. Staff is fantastic. You won’t be disappointed.

Literally the most interesting thing in Augusta. The museum is a really unique space, and Pexcho is a fantastic storyteller. I can’t recommend it enough. I hope it stays open forever.

I was so glad we decided to check out this unique museum while in Augusta. I can't wait until the newest exhibit is finished. Room after room of the unusual. Finished up with an up close performance of a real sword swallower. Make an appointment to see it and enjoy.

We really enjoyed our museum tour. It was such a great show. We are come to town a couple times a year and will easily include this on our visits when we come up. The owner and family were so fun, kind, and accommodating with our little kids and us. Highly recommend.

An incredible shrine to the strange, the unusual, & the bizarre. Home to the world's only two headed T-Rex! If you are anywhere nearby you owe it to yourself to stop in & be amazed! They also have live shows that are not to be missed!

I had family visit from Germany and since there isn't much going on in Augusta I googled for things we could do and came across this absolute gem. My husband called to make a reservation and two days later we went on our private tour. The stories were fascinating and everyone, including our 8 year old, learned so much. Red's show at the end was great. We will definitely be back. You won't see anything like this in Germany.

Must see location in Augusta. Very interesting counter culture/freak show aesthetic museum and building that houses all sorts of neat and freaky stuff. They had a grand opening freak show stage on their first day which was absolutely great. Totally worth bringing your friends and family too to experience a crazy place. Highly recommended.

In a word.....Incredible! In this day and age of instant gratification, it was so refreshing to slow down, step back in time, and be entertained by true masters of the art..not once but twice. Mr. Pexcho and "Red" put on a show both informative and interesting. You learn everything, and I do mean everything about the obscure institution that is the American Dime Museum and Circus Sideshow. Please look him up on Facebook, and if you're in the area book a tour....you WON'T regret it.

An entertaining, informative, and overall outstanding piece of seldom talked about American history. Currently visits are by appointment only, but making reservations via Messenger is quick and efficient. As this is the last operating museum of this format in the country (possibly even the world), it's definitely worth checking out. Honestly, what else are you going to do in Augusta anyway?

This is the last dime museum in the country. That alone would make it worth visiting, but Peter also does an excellent job with tours that are really engaging, interesting and family-friendly. Check it out!
