Mid-Way Baptist Church Raleigh NC

We've been going to Mid-Way for over a year now and really love it! The kids programs are amazing! And I hear the same of the youth and young adult programs, as well. My husband and I have also enjoyed the services and classes offered for adults. Though the church a bit on the large side, it has managed to maintain the feel of a smaller family church -- very friendly and inviting! Most importantly, the staff is focused on God's will for this church and He is present in all they do!

I have been going to this church for almost 14 years now. During that time I rededicated my life to Christ and have grown leaps and bounds in my walk with Christ. My children have been surrounded by loving teachers, speaking God's word, from the time they were born. They have both asked Jesus into their hearts! This church and its staff preach the Bible! The Life Groups, and their GREAT teachers, assist you in really digging into God's word and learning how we can be more like Christ. So grateful that my husband brought me to Mid-Way so many years ago! Just a great church ALL around.

My parents and I have been attending Midway since the late 90's and we would never consider going to another church. We have visited plenty of churches in the Garner/Raleigh area, but nothing compares to Midway. We absolutely the music and the choir because they play both old southern gospel songs, but contemporary songs as well; the blend is awesome. I've been in Sunday school classes from Kindergarten to College & Career and they have always been taught my amazing teachers and I've made so many wonderful life-long friendships with my peers. The church is always offering so many developmental classes, fun activities, and other times to worship and fellowship which is awesome! However, the main reason we love Midway so much is because of Preacher Upchurch. It is very rare that a founding pastor still remains at their church and refuses to quit until he is called up to heaven! Preacher has been at Midway for almost 50 years and I'm so grateful for all the wisdom and advice he's given me each Sunday for 20 years now. He's not afraid to tell it like it is and refuses to preach anything other than God's Word because he stands strong with his beliefs. I'm also very glad that our church is debt-free and that we are able to give back in so many ways: to children, single moms, missionaries, you name it. Our Chest of Joash during November is such a great way to demonstrate what God says about sowing and reaping and the importance of sacrificial giving. It is also a great way for new or non believers to give a tithe if they want. I'm so happy to be member of this church and I would recommend you come join us one Sunday morning at 9:30!

My daughter invited me to Mid-Way Church on “Friend Day.” (1998) I was invited into Judy Caroll’s Sunday School class. She taught Bible truths.
I began attending the Worship Service. Truly the Lord was among us (“wherever 2 or more are gathered together in worshipping the Lord, He is there.”)
In later years I had “a ‘pull on my heart’ to teach 4th graders” where I’ve been ever since.
The “Children’s Ministry” is by far the BEST all around. We serve, love and teach the Babies up THROUGH 5th grade.
At 6th grade they “move up” to ‘Refuge’ with 6th through 12th grade.
We have “College and Career” classes.
The teaching of Bible Truths never stops at Mid-Way.

I have attended Mid-Way Baptist Church since I visited with my high school sweetheart. We have attended here for over 36 years and raised our children here. I am so thankful for the influence of the Pastor and the many friends (which are as close as my family) who have had a part in our family's spiritual growth. It has been my great pleasure to serve in the Women's Ministry for over 20 years and now as the Children's Director for the past nine years. Mid-Way Baptist Church has been life changing for our family. We began visiting less than two years ago and became members approximately one year later. The church family is so loving and friendly. We've never felt out of place. All of the pastoral staff made an effort to meet us and know us by name. I feel that says a lot for a church of this size. Even with the multiple buildings and large congregation, it still has a small town feel. Through LifeGroup classes, Life University Studies, Children's Ministry and AWANA's our family has grown and continues to grow closer to Christ daily. We have family members both in state and out of state that watch our sermons on-line and attend with us when they are in town. We look forward to every opportunity to join our church family in Worship & Praise. We are so blessed that God brought us to this family!!

My kids and I have attended Mid-Way for approximately eight years now. The number of ministries they have on campus is staggering. Nobody should come there and leave spiritually empty. As an African American, I have never felt out of place or unwelcome and my children haven't either. Speaking of such, the youth ministry is great there! They continuously keep all ages involved and pumped about the Lord! It's a great place.

I began attending Mid-Way in college, as a single, because I was invited by a close friend. I immediately felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and that has never changed in my time here (32 years). I have gone through so many walks of life while attending here: single, married with children, widowed, and eventually remarried, and my Mid-Way family and good, solid Biblical preaching has been a consistent source of support and builder of my faith. Pastor Upchurch “fed” me for 30 years and after his passing, his chosen successor, Pastor Grant Staubs, has continued to “feed” me in a legacy of biblically-based truth that I long for each week! There’s no thinking about going to church. We go!

Our family has truly been blessed by Midway Baptist Church. From the preschool and children's ministries to the adult Life groups, AWANA and the many bible study options this truly is a church whose mission is to help grow Christians from birth+. The music is amazing each week and the messages are straight from the Bible. And if you are ever going through a time of hardship as we were when my husbands father passed they will be there with support and prayer. Overall wonderful church!

My wife and I have attended Mid-Way Baptist for over 17 years now and very impressed with the church. Pastor Upchurch is the founding minister and has been preaching God's word faithfully for over 45 years. It says a lot to me when a pastor doesn't move on to other churches. One of the things that is so important in a church to me is that souls are being saved and people are growing spiritually. This is happening at Mid-Way.
The music is awesome -not dull by any means, but very uplifting. with a large choir that sings every Sunday. The choir has always sung great music, and normally has a performance every Christmas and Easter. The children's programs is top notch, and the teen's program is superb. If you are interested in sports for adults or children we have that too. Mid-Way is interested in winning people to Christ. I highly recommend it.

When we moved to the South side of Raleigh we were in search of a church that felt like home. I received something in my mailbox and I couldn't believe it, but it said "Just like Home" on it and was from Mid-way. So of course I had to go and see if it was true. Well it definitely was and we love this church and church family. They have a great program for children of all ages and genuinely care for it's members. I am so thankful we found Mid-way and hope to be a part of this church for many years to come.

For about 2 years I had prayed for a church that I could call home. Whenever I would come visit my boyfriend (who is now my husband) we would always go to Mid-Way Baptist Church. Once we got married the next thing to do was to find a church together that we could get plugged into and grow. Little did I know that the Lord had already chose this church to be our home. This church greets anyone who walks in the door with a warm welcome and is always striving to make you feel wanted. They reflect the image of Christ in numerous ways and I believe that is the kind of church that everyone should be seeking.

This church has successfully grown under the leadership of the Pastor for fifty-one years and is currently under the leadership of nine incredible pastors. Though it is a big church in attendance, the congregation will make you feel at home.

I currently attend Midway Baptist. My experience here has been life changing. The fellowship is warm and inviting with many opportunities to learn grow and serve. I am always excited to be at church and worship with this family of believers.

Mid-Way has been my church for 2+ years now. I love everything about it. I wouldn’t be who I am today without learning from Pastor Grant how to be a child of God. I plan to attend this church for many more years to come. :)

My family and I have been truly blessed since coming to Mid-Way Baptist Church. This is a God worshiping, Bible-believing church from top to bottom. Pastor Upchurch truly walks-the-walk as leader and feeds his flock as he should each week. Mid-Way's emphasis on family is unparallelled. Mid-Way's focus on evangelism is what God intends. The music is awesome, children's ministry is the best we have experienced, and the college & career folks are plugged in which is rare in today's church. THERE ARE NO PERFECT CHURCHES; MINISTRY IS MESSY. I count it a blessing to be a member here and proud to invite others. You can truly get plugged in at MBC and find God's path for you!
