I visited the salon on the recommendation of a friend who has beautiful long locs. I have a short natural. I was pleased with the tapered shaping and wash and go I received. She was on time and I wasn’t shuffled between other customers. There was a calming presence in the shop devoid of drama, etc.

I was in and out (with drying time) in under an hour. Her prices were comparable and honestly much better than some of the fancy salons I see charging hundreds of dollars for short natural hair. I’ve already made my next appointment.

If you have natural hair or want to go natural, I highly recommend Sophie Sunflower salon, especially the My Honey Child products. She helped me transition to natural hair 10 years ago. She was my hair care specialist for many years until I left the area. I still go back from time to time because I love the experience. You never have long waits and she puts the health of your hair first. Plus she's just a great person!

This is genuinely the best natural hair care salon I've ever been to. I've been coming to Krika for 3 years for hair trims and she is always pleasant, knowledgeable, and gentle with my hair. My hair truly thrives after seeing her for a simple trim. Krika has a true passion for caring for natural hair and it is evident in how meticulously and thoroughly she provides even the smallest service. Before this salon I've never been to a stylist who treats my hair with the same care and consideration as they would treat their own hair. I am very interested in booking her hair steaming service because I know my hair will benefit deeply from a more involved service from her nurturing hands. I REALLY appreciate that her services don't "break the bank" and are well priced for a dedicated naturalista like myself because so many other salons grossly overcharge for any services performed on natural hair. As long as we live in the Triangle area I will always have my hair cared for by Krika at Sophia Sunflower Salon!

Its hard trying to find someone who is knowledgeable about natural hair as well as able to educate you on managing it. So often we run into salons that are weave queens, and dread kings, Yet they say there a natural salon. Not to knock there BI but I appreciate experience, I appreciate facts/education material, I appreciate someone who wants to get to know my hair as well as me, and that's how I felt at Sophia Sunflower because this is what she provided. It was a discussion first and foremost since not every natural female has the same type of hair, and that was where her expertise shined. My hair is fine yet soft, three different curl patterns and has no problem growing, HOWEVER the least little thing I do or don't do its like starting all over again and this is how leaking up with a knowledgeable Salon can help you achieve healthy, growing, manageable hair. Highly recommended

I visited Krika's salon last week and had a great experience. First, I appreciated the fact that she starts ON TIME!!! She also has early appointments -- as early as 6 am. LOVE IT! I have short hair (2 inches) and am at a point where I needed to learn new techniques/styles. Krika did comb coils for me and showed me how to do them myself (yeah right). I was in and out in less than 90 minutes. I also like her line of products that she used on my hair. The best part about that, there was no hard sell of the products at the end. I will definitely continue to visit the salon as my hair continues to grow out.

I have been going to Krika since I returned from Virginia in 2005 when only a handful of natural salons existed. I have been very happy with her and her service. I have tried 4 other natural stylists in the area but continue to return to Krika. She is very knowledgeable about all types of hair and how different chemicals affect it and she offers good tips on how to manage my 4C hair. I appreciate the personal touch, intimate setting and not having to sit a long time due to overbooking. I also appreciate that her first answer to my tightly coiled hair doesn’t include grabbing a blow dryer or flat irons. As a plus, the majority of the products that she uses on my hair are all natural, mixed and verified by her. I recommend Krika to anyone who wants a natural healthy head of hair. My hair is healthier than it has ever been thanks to Krika’s care and her Type 4 hair crème.

Ms. Krika does a wonderful job on my hair. I have had a twist-out, and silky press done and both styles came out beautiful. I also love all her products. The Olive You Deep Conditioner is my absolute favorite!

I took my 3 year old daughter to get her hair done and teach me how to style her hair for an individual child class session, and it was excellent. Krika took her time to demonstrate and show me the proper techniques for various styles. She had me do the styles, as well. I feel a lot more confident in styling and doing more difficult styles. My daughter had a great time, and she even learned from the experience. I highly recommend Krika’s child hair care class.

I have been going to Krika for over 8 years. Her knowledge of natural hair is vast. She is consistently professional, the environment is relaxing. Krika is very accomodating, often she will come in on her day off. I was used to getting my hair done in New York and Atlanta and was worried that I would not find the same level of expertise when I first came to NC, this concern was put to rest once I came in contact with Sophias Sunflower Salon. I highly recommend her and the salon.

We had a wonderful experience this morning! Ms. Krika was great with my girls who each needed a deep conditioning and trim. The My Honey Child products we purchased work so well in their hair. I can finally get rid of all of the other hair products that have disappointed over the years!

Omg she worked a miracle on my hair today. There was no wait, she listen to my hair concerns and I was in & out. I had a wash, trim, blow dry, and deep conditioner. Stylist trimmed a lot of damage and gave my hair a fresh start. I will definitely return.

I am currently in the transition stage. I have not done a big chop...just a little at a time. Sofia Sunflower products are great and Krika is very knowledgeable about natural hair. I value her advice and services.

This salon is not like any others I've been to. The is little to NO waiting. The stylist gives u 100% of her attention from start to the dryer (she let me get my afternoon nap). I am a proud client.
