My wife made appointments for us and she filled out the applications online. She received a notice back with appointments for our first shots. We arrived on time and were ushered in to the venue (the old Sears building). Everything was extremely well organized. We checked in and received our shots within 15 minutes. Afterwards we had to wait 15 minutes to make sure none of us seniors did a face plant on the floor. The staff members and volunteers were friendly and helpful. Kudos to the LCHD for a great job. I wish some of you people would follow directions and stop whining!

Lake Co. Florida. Got 2nd vaccine at old Sears bldg. Astounded how smoothly and fast it went. The 1st drive up was organized. Didn’t think it could go better but it did. Whoever designed flow at Sears was a genius.

This organization has done an amazing job coordinating the vaccination process at the old Sears store at the Lake Square Mall. Efficienct and well organized. Great job. Kudos to all involved.

While I recognize the near impossible task of accomodating the population of the ENTIRE county while still doing 100% of all the tasks that each person was hired to do, it still is frustrating to not be able to speak to anyone at the Lake County Health Department.

My question (problem) is that I have had BOTH COVID vaccinations but when they took my card that I received after the first vaccination, I was left with nothing to show that I received both vaccinations. How do I get proof of vaccinations? I am certainly not alone with this dilemna! I would rather receive proof BEFORE I need it rather than scrambling to try to get proof AFTER I need it! Anyone have suggestions?

The set up at the old Sears building was efficient and everything went smoothly for both our 1st and second shots. The improvement needs to come in signing up for the shots.

I have been given incorrect info, been unable to contact (tried 37 times one time over 30 minutes to no avail), have been sent to wrong location, have been told first come/first serve at Cooper Library, when it had been moved to Clermont Art, with appointment only, and now when searching this morning, find the second shipment was received but by the time I got there (10 minutes away from me) it was closed (no vaccines). I cannot camp out there all night, so I guess I won't be able to get my vaccine any time soon and I am definitely in need of one. I agree with someone else who said whoever was in charge of coordinating this should be fired or at least brought to task over this mishandling of this vaccine debacle. Why are other counties able to handle this and we cannot, obviously?

The people calling me are: 1)unable to speak English clearly, 2)continue to call me about Covid 19 vaccines even though I told them I have already received both shots from Pfiser; 3)consistently hang up on me every time I call to inform them they do not need to call me anymore. Hanging up on a taxpayer is rude and unprofessional. Who does Lake County have working for them? Terrible, terrible staff personnel.

This is a complaint about the Public Relations Dept. in Lake County Health:
I may be wrong but I believe that the Lake County Health Department Public Relations is the section that is suppose to keep the public informed about the various aspects of when, where, and the procedures for obtaining Covid-19 vaccinations. On this front they have been terribly lacking.
Either Public Relations doesn't know what is going on and thus cannot pass out information or they do know but are too lazy to let the public know. For example it was noticed that for every one message or email sent out by Lake County Health Public Relations via 888777 the Saint John's County sent out four or five messages or emails letting their constituents know what is what almost on real time basis.
What does Lake County Public Relations put out - not much. For example, They said on 10 Feb that Groveland was closed until 15 Feb because of vaccine shortages and that they would advise. But come 16 Feb there was no Up-date put out by Lake County Health advising via 888777 whether the Groveland location would be open or closed. Yet a Florida State Health Dept. Rep was calling people who had their first shot to advise that they were scheduled for their second shot between 8 AM and Noon at the Groveland location. To the person receiving that information it all seemed great but was Groveland going to be open or closed? In my case I went to Groveland at 6 AM anyway on the day of my appointment because in the absence of any information from Lake County Health Public Relations I went just in case the place was actually open. It turns out that it was open and the long line of cars was handled beautifully by the Groveland Police Dept. and the Lake County Florida Health Workers at the site. Thankfully the vaccination process was a successful adventure but no thanks to Lake County Health Public Relations. There is no reason why the Lake County Health Public Relations can't put out a bulletin three times a day (Early AM, Noon, Late PM) giving a brief vaccination up-date to the public waiting for their Covid-19 vaccinations. A short status of the sites being used for vaccinations is all that is needed. Apparently all vaccinations are now by appointment but the bulletin would at least be a reassurance or reminder to the public that the sites are open though only by appointment. Also, someone should make sure that the appointment application website is not frozen and that people can actually enter the proper data to get an appointment.

Can't get any one to answer the phone. They do not want you to visit the office. They are giving info about the covid vaccine hours after it is to late to do anything with the info. They can't make up their minds to do scheduling or first come first serve!! No contact by phone or computer. Very poorly operated for a county office!!!

When I acquired an infectious disease, or flesh eating bacterial infection, I contacted the Health Department. The lady said that thay don't do "health stuff" anymore.
Then they gave me the number of a clinic, which is not taking new patients. After the issue got worse, I contacted them again and got the same run around. To date, other people have contracted this illness. I have made every attempt to seek medical care. I also contacted the CDC, WHO, Doctors Without Borders, Jimmy Carter Foundation, and had no luck getting assistance. I tried to rule out tropical diseases and requested a Chagas test. The clinic told me that we don't have Chagas in the US. When I mentioned that the CDC website stated that there were 200,000 Chagas cases in the US, the nurse told me that the US includes Mexico and Canada. Really? It appears that there is no medical care; even for those with insurance. I sold my home and spent over $100K seeking medical care and got the endless referrals. I have concluded that there is no treatment for infectious diseases in the US. Health organizations don't care about patients, nor do they care if infectious diseases spread through the community.
