American Inn Chesapeake - Portsmouth

The front desk is beyond sweet even housekeeping! I absolutely loved it. It’s so quiet and peaceful to be honest.. Yes, there is a highway close by but it was never unbearable. I never felt unsafe either. There’s nothing close by but a quick 8 minute drive, you’ll find a lot. I will stay and also recommend this place. I have no idea how people left a bad review, I was hesitant at first but not disappointed

Due to the COVID lock down, I found myself having to move out of the home I rented for 5 years previously. I found this location online and moved in for what I thought was going to be for a month or so. However, I ended up staying there for over a year. The time I stayed there seemed to be the place I needed to be as it allowed me to reach all of my customers I. North Carolina, Suffolk, Hampton, Williamsburg and beyond. It was perfect for me and my circumstances. The owners are super-nice and accommodating. The staff were equally nice and endeavored to keep the place neat, clean and secure. There are other long-term residents sprinkled about the complex and have become a little friendly community willing to help and provide assistance to the guests whom come there as well. I will remember my time there with warmth and fondness. I am grateful for this place as it gave me a "home away from home".

Excellent service all around. The front desk staff really helped me with an issue that no other motel/hotel in the area would and I'm eternally grateful for it. You can tell the property and building are on the older side of things, but everything is well maintained and clean. Our room included everything the $400/wk motels have, but for $250 w/tax. The only problem is the location... there's a gas station next door and that's it for miles.

After a long drive from Baltimore...we bumped into an uncomfortable situation at another hotel these guys took us in at the last minute and made us feel comfortable. The staff were great but most of all the Housekeeper lady Stacy was phenomenal. Thank you guys...we will definitely stay there again.

The room smelled great when we got there.. Free wifi and a safe location.. I was happy to see police officers around a lot as well

The hotel is very accomodating 50 dollars even for a night and 250 even for a week The non smoking rooms have the jacuzzi in them and you still pay the regular price

Great Place, Great Staff and they gave us a nice room. Staff was kinda weird but they wete cool overall GREAT PLACE TO STAY
