Beautiful trails along the river. We live 20 mins away and visit frequently. It's perfect for bringing kiddos and dogs along. There are some camping spots up there, too. It is hit or miss with how busy it can get.
-Side note- the road up to it is very rocky and full of potholes. My rav4 got through it just fine, but a lower car may have some trouble getting to the parking lot.

You at least need Subaru ground clearance for the potholes along the way. NO BATHROOMS. Great in and out trail for kids, easy climb, creek nearby. It is very busy. As always, if you pack it in, please pack it out!

What a gorgeous trail! We made it to the Rosalie saddle, as Mount Rosalie was shrouded in clouds and my 9-year-old was tired, but loved it!

We went up the closed trail and looped back on Rosalie and Tanglewood trails. It was a gradual forested climb along the creek. Pleasant traverse through aspen groves. Descending back along Tanglewood creek. 5.6 miles round trip. Highly recommend for a hot summer hike or in the fall colors.

Love Tanglewood Trail. Such a great trail following a beautiful stream with good shade.

Really nice trail. Fairly wide on the lower part. Lots of trees along the trail so was fairly well shaded. Go in the aspens are changing and it's magical. 😁

Steep and high altitude for us lowlanders, but well worth it. Spent 3 nights up here, wish we could stay longer. Trail was well managed, few other hikers, and zero trash

Large parking area, very quiet in the winter. Long, gentle incline at the start (first couple of miles)

The road was a little rough to get back there, but the trail was awesome! I will definitely go again the next time
I'm up.

Fantastic trail! Gorgeous forest and creek scenery! We made it 12 miles in one day, 6 in 6 out. Total elevation change of 2851'. Making it to the top is not for the light-hearted afternoon hiker. Bring water and something to eat. Watch for wasps and give them a wide berth. They are quite aggressive

Note for people who haven't been here, if you're backpacking in to camp, the permit boxes are a quarter mile up the trail. When I went, there were no permits. That didn't hinder my intent to set up camp.
The hike is amazing (I went early September). There's high potential for afternoon thunderstorms.
Another note, if you're looking for a spot in late summer, it might be a good idea to avoid stands of aspen. The wasp population is unbelievable and makes it sound like the whole area is humming. These insects are inquisitive and seem to enjoy finding ways into tents. As long as you're not encroaching their nests, they're mostly harmless, just annoying. They don't usually sting unless grabbed or stuck in a garment or hair. I've found that clapping hands or snapping fingers near them usually make them go away.

Wild flowers, gurgling Creek, Green tree cover and squirrels running around. It is a beautiful fun hike. The trail was wide enough for a good stroller for the initial part of the trail which helps when you are going with kids. There is ample parking too and that helps.

Great trails that run along the Tanglewood Creek. The rocks can be difficult to navigate at times, but it's nice to be able to take a quick rest and listen to the creek. Went on a Friday and only saw another hiker near the very end of the trail.

Plenty of parking and some great hiking trails. Saw a bear and two moose within 20 minutes of each other last time I was on the Rosalie trail. The sound of the creek is so relaxing too.

Most gorgeous trail I've been on to date. Moving back from Vegas has me huffing and puffing though, so beware the elevation which I believe hovers around 9300 at the start. Beautiful trees and river crossings... Butterflies everywhere. I felt like we were in a friggin Disney movie 😁 Don't miss this trail!

A beautiful spot to kick off your hike or backpacking trip. Should be able to get a regular car up to the parking lot mid-late April.

Really beautiful trail and relatively easy. You have to cross the Tanglewood Creek a few times and there's not always a bridge, but it's worth it to explore this beautiful area.
