The Shaggy Sheep

We really enjoy visiting the Shaggy Sheep. Their bespoke creations are nothing short of delicious and this is consistent. We also can't resist taking some of their fresh pastries home with us when we stop by for dinner.

I recently tried the most interesting take on lasagna that I've ever seen and did not disappoint. Whatever you do, don't skip out on their hand-cut french fries. Those are the bomb.

Great stop especially when coming back from hiking in the mountains. The menu is a bit limited but everything we've tried has been great. They also have homemade hand pies that you shouldn't miss and a great selection of teas. The prices are high for what you get but given there aren't many restaurants in the area it's understandable.

We had an unbelievably delicious meal here with outstanding service! What took us so long to stop? Can’t wait to come back.

The Shaggy Sheep was given as a suggestion for our travels through Colorado and it was the perfect lunch spot. This place is super cute and our servers were all incredibly polite and happy to be there. We were super excited to try the food & didn’t snap a pic, but our burgers were cooked perfectly. The meat was so flavorful and the hand-cut fries were the perfect addition. Definitely give this place a try if you are near the area - 10/10!

Great menu with fresh ingredients. An absolute must for a bite to eat on your way to or from your mountain adventure. The service is friendly and the beer selection is great. You must also take one of their famous scones for the road too!

What an amazing place and everyone was so friendly even as we came in as a group of 9 at the end of their day. We shortened to a group of 6 but had an incredible lunch and were served by an absolutely beautiful woman who was as efficient as she was friendly and stunning. She had recently survived cancer and has an effervescent attitude that brightened all of our days.
The brisket was spectacular, the green chili flavorful, and the fries were ridiculously good.
She talked us into the hand pies wish were amazing and I purchased 6 more for the morning. Looking forward to them.

Great place! If you're ever driving past do yourself a favor and stop by! I know so many people who have seen this place and never stopped, and you should definitely stop every time! The menu is small but the food is amazing, the place is clean and the staff is friendly. I got myself a burger with a fried egg. It was delicious and high quality, the rest of my party enjoyed their food as well. It's not like a lot of mountain places where the food is low quality because of the commute that it takes to get it there. This food was tasty, fresh, and just a pleasure to eat. I also mentioned the friendly staff; all employees were amazing, huge shoutout to everyone that works there, everyone was so friendly and attentive. It was such a pleasant surprise to stop here and discover a new favorite restaurant. Now every time I drive into the mountains I'll be making a pit stop at the Shaggy Sheep! I even got myself one of the awesome pint glasses from their gift shop! 10/10 would highly recommend!

Service was quick and friendly and food was excellent. Very small town and we appreciated that food was so fresh that they limit how many of each special dish they plan so nothing is wasted. I had the braised short rib , had absolutely great flavor and my husband had the fresh catch of the day - red snapper.

If I could give them 10 stars, I would. The staff was so friendly, the food blew us away, and the atmosphere was delightful. My fiance got the burger, which was everything you want and need a burger to be after a hike in the mountains (or anytime). I got the ribs and let me tell you ... I eat a lot of ribs. I love ribs. So don't take it lightly when I say these might have been the best ribs I've had in my life. Wow. Lastly, if they offer you a seat at the "hummingbird bar" - do NOT pass this up.

Stopped here on our way back from snowshoeing. It was so dang good. I had a burger, which was delicious and juicy. The French onion soup was too die for. The waitress was so nice, and they had a cute Lil shop set up.

We drove through a small town Grant for the first time, and found this local hidden gem! It has a very cozy and welcoming feel to it. My husband ordered their burger and fries, while I ordered their fish tacos and potato wedges. Food was good and the service was great! They have the best pastries as well. Blueberry and cherry pie along with a blueberry lemon scone was a win! We devoured them all when we got home. Looking forward to going back when we pass through Grant again.

Super cute spot. It was the first restaurant we came across for over two hours. Did not disappoint, only a few items on the menu but all looked very good and fresh. Restroom was clean and hassle free and the staff were super friendly. The beer selection was great and dessert I would recommend.

Everything you could ask for in a mountain lodge-style restaurant. The interior is beautifully decorated and gives off a cozy vibe. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. There is even a patio with outdoor seating and a food truck to order from if you don’t have time for dine-in service. I would highly recommend stopping by - there aren’t many other restaurants that can compete with The Shaggy Sheep in this area.

This place is well known for their hamburger and fries and it is very good and we like their green chili stew it was spicy but it was very good and also we liked her special it was of grilled cheese with tomato soup and tomato soup is from scratch which is really good, so if you’re gonna pass through stop by and check it out and try out their food it’s very good and their hamburger is huge so you can just split it in half , very good. So next time I’m passing through I’m stop by again.

This place is so cute!! And the staff are so nice and friendly! I order their house-made biscuit with gravy which is out of the world!! Friends order other breakfast items which all are great too. By the time we finished our breakfast we were so full, so we just got a blueberry pie to go for dessert later, oh man we regret so much not getting more, their pie is the best pie I have ever had!! Will definitely be back next time!

Always the best dining experience in a beautiful and casual setting. I've always had the most friendly and competent servers along with well prepared and delicious food. Highly recommend.

Holy Moly - What a FIND!!!
Outstanding Big City Restaurant experience on the side of the road - in the most unpretentious buildings you might miss because you are driving too fast on your way to somewhere else.
THIS PLACE IS WHERE LOCALS GO -WEEKLY!!!

Sarah and the gang crush it here on SERVICE AND IN THE KITCHEN. I was stunned by the professionalism that greeted us at our table from start to finish(Kelsey). Only to have that topped by the kitchen with super delicious burgers, Brisket and desserts. Was this staff imported from Denver just to work here?!? Certainly comes across that way.

But let's talk cookies - I am a terribly snobby Chocolate Chip Cookie guy. Well they have an excellent "chip to cookie" bite ratio here. I highly recommend getting two - a regular to-go and an Ala-mode, hot cookie to end your meal correctly.
I can say more but why bother. It's a Destination Restaurant for sure.

Marti was our waitress the other morning & was just a doll. She was such a sweetie, made us feel right at home. The rest of the staff was also very welcoming & could tell everyone was really happy where they are. After coming out of the mountains ⛰ we were dying for a quick bite to eat & are so happy we stumbled upon the Shaggy Sheep. After breakfast, I recommend checking out their little gift shop & try their baked goods (butterscotch cookies to die for)!!

Surprisingly good food!! Great brisket, carnitas, and green chile soup! Nice, comfy decor with views of hummingbirds flying around their nectar feeders. Would definitely come back!

We have wanted try this for breakfast for awhile and finally did. Well worth the ride/drive. The food was great and the service was awesome. We will definitely be going again.
