Driftwood On The Ocean

Its a trip worth making , went for my 50th in October of 2023 and made it a girls weekend with my daughters ..
The weather was not great but being in Driftwood , we felt relaxed, the town is near by , great places to eat and lots of good walking near the Lighthouse . October weather is not guaranteed but the hotel is !!! beautiful , clean and service is great

My partner and I made a last-minute booking for the Columbus Day weekend, coincidentally falling on my birthday weekend. To our surprise, we managed to secure an ocean-view room with ease after a quick phone call. I was assigned room number 7, which featured a modern and cozy interior. The kitchenette was fully equipped with all the necessary utensils, and it even had a dishwasher.The resort had direct access to the beach on its property, ensuring a private and enjoyable beach experience. They generously provided complimentary chairs, towels, and beach beds for guests.
Apart from the beach, the resort offered various amenities, including a swimming pool, gym, basketball court, and tennis area, although we didn't use them during our stay. We also had the option to use the barbecues in front of the cottages.

What stood out most during our stay was the exceptional service. Every staff member on the property was incredibly helpful during check-in and provided us with valuable information.Since we didnt have our own vehicle, we found it convenient to take a short Uber ride to nearby town, which typically cost around $20 for the distance.

A couple of minor points to note: When I made the reservation over the phone, I was informed that toiletries would be provided, but dental kits were not included in the room amenities, so it's a good idea to bring your own toothpaste. Additionally, there were no phone lines in the room, so if you have any questions or require assistance, you'll need to walk to the front desk, which isn't a significant inconvenience but worth knowing when making your booking.

Absolutely lovely stay here. We came during the off season to avoid crowds and so we didn't use all of the amenities, but it was just what we were looking for: Lodging for three with kitchenette near town and the lighthouse and with access to the ocean. Bonus was the size of the private deck and the seating out there. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Looking forward to coming again.

The place is outstanding. Nice, clean, beautiful. I loved the beautiful grounds of the resort. The room was fresh and clean. They had everything you may need: fridge, microwave, pans, coffee machine with capsules, even paper towels. It felt like a resort somewhere in Mediterranean. It was expensive, but at the end of the day everything was expensive in Montauk. I loved the natural reserve near by and our room was facing it. The main gem of this place was its staff crew. Everybody made us feel welcomed and cared. Usually it is hard to get a reservation here because so many people love it, but I highly recommend this place.

Absolutely love the Driftwood, have been coming here every summer for years. Perfect location with beach front access and chair and umbrella service included. Also free yoga on the beach as well as access to a Peleton (they have shoes to borrow too!). Can't recommend enough for a getaway to paradise. Staff is super friendly and helpful!

The Driftwood was PERFECT in every way! The rooms are adorable and well decorated. Each has a full bath, well-appointed kitchen, bedroom and living room. The location is right on the ocean. The staff was wonderful. They were cleaning and restocking the facilities every day. I especially want to commend the GM: Sofi Valenzuela. We were a party of 13. Sofi handled all of our requests, kept on checking up to see if we needed anything else, and was delightful to deal with. We will be back next year, in large part due to Sofi’s excellent oversight and caring.

My boyfriend took me to this resort for our anniversary and I loved it. The stuff was super friendly, our room was very spacious, clean and aesthetically pleasing. We have had a small patio outside our room where you can grilled some food or simply sit down and enjoy the sounds of the beach. The pool and tennis courts were clean and well maintained. overall this place became one of my favorites.

Definitely family oriented. Staff was low key while available if you needed them, giving a 🏡 feel. It is perfectly located near all. We saw dolphins and whales very near, so bring your binoculars so that you get a closer look. It should be mentioned that you can request a shuttle pick up to nearby places for free. We had a great time and was so happy to see the room with all accommodations for cooking so there was no need to eat out, if you don't want to. Just remember to bring your charcoal and lighter.

We have been coming here for over 20 years and I must say the current staff was outstanding. Always a clean, well manicured Hotel, but now they have stepped it up a notch and we all noticed. Best Hotel in Montauk

My Wife booked a room for me as a Father’s Day gift. So we came with our 2 little girls. Driftwood was one of the more moderately priced rooms in all of Montauk. The location was great, nice and quiet & the staff was stellar! You literally walk in to your own little beach cottage!
The energy on the property was fabulous. Each cottage seems to have their own little lounge area with a outdoor table and charcoal grill. We woke up to people cooking and the smell of bacon!

Lastly, the staff. Sofi, the General Manager, was super polite and sweet and super accommodating.

We will be back this summer for sure!

This hotel is beautiful! Great size with beautiful ocean views and great on-site amenities. The staff was great and extremely accommodating. After booking my hotel online I notified them of my daughter being special needs. They called me right away and asked how they can make our stay more accommodating. Now that is called going above and beyond in my eyes! Can’t wait to come back and visit. Thank you for a memorable stay!

Favorite place ever! My husband and I take the kids here every year (or go solo too) and have the absolute best time. Units are on the beach and quiet. Staff is wonderful and they’ll set you up with chairs and umbrellas and anything you need. Very accommodating and units are all really clean and beautifully becorated. Will keep

The room we were given after the first room didn't meet expectations was absolutely lovely. I mostly wanted to post this review to call out the manager on duty -- Sophie -- who was so understanding and accommodating. Many thanks for a good experience!

This is a great place for folks who want a safe, laid-back vacation on the beach. It's not a party scene - there was a good mix of adults and families. There are amenities like a pool, tennis courts, basketball, ping pong, and of course the beach is right there without needing to cross the street. The kitchen was nicely equipped with a stove top, microwave, and dishwasher - but no oven. Bathroom was small but clean. It seems well-managed and all-in-all it felt like a sweet stay.

We go to Montauk every summer and we love the Dunes resorts. This year were staying at the Driftwood and it's been wonderful. We have great room with a beautiful view of the dunes. The balcony is huge! The exercise room is really well stocked and large, there are a lot of family friendly amenities like a playground and the staff here is friendly. It's also wonderful to have an uncrowded beach. We love it here and recommend it highly.

Magical when the weather is nice. Beautiful room. Convenient keyless entry. Cute bbq and relax area. Pool was still closed but loved every moment.

So I was calling a bunch of places to find a good price to stay a night to enjoy Montauk and the sunrise the following day. Little did I know I was gonna hit a gold mine. The manager I spoke with, Tom, was amazing and so very helpful with all my questions and concerns. The room we got for the price I paid was 10/10 worth it. I didn’t get to use all the amnesties but the whole place was lovely, the room was comfortable, and my lovely friend who stayed with me thought it was the cutest room ever. We both will be coming back next season and bringing our friends too!!!

We recently spent a weekend at Driftwood on the Ocean with a group of friends and family for our wedding. Tom Loesch, the manager, was extremely helpful from our first meeting. The weeks leading up to our event we had questions and needed to confirm a few details and he always got back to us right away. The staff was so attentive and friendly over the weekend. If anyone asked for extra towels, or sheets or needed their room cleaned they made sure to get on it as quickly as possible. We made use of all they had to offer from the kitchens, barbecues, pool, and even had a great night with a bon fire on the beach. The playground was great for family and friends with kids. We really had everything we needed. Could not recommend the Driftwood enough. We can't wait to go back for our anniversary!

I’ve stayed here twice 2 summers in a row. Our group rents out the Dolphin house which is very spacious with a large patio in the back. I love how the property is right on the beach and they have chairs as well. Lots of ants both years though. This is a problem!
