Great place for families and especially young kids to make the most out of summer. It can be very loud at night but the park rangers do their best to keep rowdy crowds at bay. In addition to a wonderful location on the beach there are daily crafts and softball games. If you bring kids, bikes are a must

Genie helped us check in and was INCREDIBLE. She was so kind and friendly and helped us get situated once we arrived. We were new to the campground and she helped us with how to set up our fire as well. She really made our whole experience 100x better. Thank you Genie!!

Love this park and the beach here. 1 security guard ruins it every year. Bothered us more then we want to be when on vacation. I got a "Faliure to comply " paper on my windshield... amd he Knocked on camper door at 10 pm amd 5 am to near by campers to tell them no generators at that time.. the rest of security is great..

This State Park had some nice trails. Just recently went on Saturday and the weather was nice. Parking is off to the side of the road by a lookout which was nice. You can take one of the trails to the beach which is very nice.

Beautiful beach, nice quality sand, and facilities. Great post beach clean up amenities: outdoor showers, hot water inside showers. We had some dramatic clouds roll in just as we were leaving. $10 parking fee. Please respect and preserve this gem. Will definitely return!

Not so far from Hamptons and Montauk. We need more phone chargers. Toilets and showers are ok. And the most beautiful part of it - the ocean 🌊. No dogs allowed.

My family has been camping here since the 60s and we LOVE it. It is getting extremely hard to reserve a campsite as it’s become so popular but this is my second home

Incredible beach! $10 daily fee as of July 2022; Empire Pass gets you in free. The sand is beautiful and soft, not rocky. The water is cold and has waves big enough for kids to splash in and get soaked without needing to worry much. We spent three hours with a three year old and two year old on the beach and loved it. You can’t do ANYTHING for three hours with kids that age! 😂

Quite an awesome natural preserve area, with unique "features" and so many options to offer to everyone.
Camping, surfing breaks, kitesurfing or wingfoiling around the bays, "mountain" biking, fishing, hiking cliffs, dunes, and pine groves (plus there are several 4x4 car beach access options). Explore remainders of past military installations or wonder about mother nature and its full force.
This park can get pretty magical. Cool vibe, good energy.
I'd just avoid main season though (from Memorial throughout Labor days) - it gets really overcrowded (and pricey).

Beach is very clean. I went with a group to do some astrophotography before heading over to Montauk to watch the sunrise. Maybe next time I'll stay and watch sunrise from there.

The perfect camping beachside experience in Long Island. Extremely large campsites, beautiful beach, camp general store with hot food and the newer bathrooms (on one side of campground) are clean, spacious, and the best campsite bathrooms I’ve ever seen!
The only negative was the check in process which was a little disorganized with people leaving their campers on the road and walking to the office to sign in, so be prepared. This was early in the season and I imaging it gets worse. Check in was three and they didn’t let people check in before 2:45.

Love this place for camping and surf casting but it has been harder and harder to get a campsite. Was at the new J loop which is tent only, definitely has a some pros, great view, no campers and so far newer bathrooms and showers. Cons, a longer trek to the beach but not a horrible one.

AMAZING views and great trails that are well marked. The signs told the background on the park and how the dunes actually move location from the winds. Fascinating! There wasn't a parking lot for cars, but there was enough room for our 2 vehicles and turn around space to head back home.

Each night falling asleep to the waves breaking 200 ft from us was fantastic. Restrooms were super clean and had hot water. Staff was great. My family has been coming here for four generations now.

I love this beach. In the off-season is always the best time for locals to go. You can enjoy long contemplative walks on the beach where you may pass perhaps one other person.

Long Island has some of the most beautiful beaches, however they often are detracted by people pollution I gently call it as you miss out on the scenic beaches when they are overcrowded with too many people in the summer.

Excellent trails and well marked. Multiple access points and varied terrain - forest, beach, scrub, everything in between.
Stay out of the tick grass.
