The Grazing Room

Came here with my husband for dinner. Love that they source local where possible for their menu. Service was patient and attentive.

Shared the mushroom toast appetizer - generous portion-size and got my husband and I back into adding them to our regular meals.

I had the lamb dish and my husband had the indian-inspired dish. Lamb was sourced from a local farm - and was cooked to perfection.

Husband was happy with his food as well.

Will definitely be back again!

Had a fantastic dinner at the restaurant.
Delicious from appetizers to entrees. The biscuits were fabulous. Great scallops served with creamy grits and broccolini. The Indian platter was delicious.
Excellent service from Emily who was very friendly and attentive.

Enjoyed dinner here for a wedding anniversary. Food and drinks were top notch. The best food we have had since our honeymoon. But better than imaginable was the service. I stood up looking for the restroom. Immediately the host came over and ask what I needed. This attention to the guest is outstanding. Our food and drinks came in perfect sequence. When we ordered wine as our food was delivered they expedite the wine and had it to us before I had my napkin on my lap. It is also worth noting that the great attention didn’t detract from the relaxed atmosphere were we could dine comfortably. Highly recommend this place when you want to all to be taken care of.

I may be a local but not one to post biased reviews, this place is a gem and I am blessed to have a place so close where I can enjoy a special evening with the wife. Exceptional offerings and ambiance, the amazing service keeps bringing us back. If you want an excellent evening, reserve a room and enjoy a fabulous meal.

WOW, where do I begin to describe such a fantastic dining experience the three of us had on Thanksgiving at The Grazing Room. It was our first time there so we weren't sure exactly what to expect especially because in our decades of dining out we've learned that holidays sometimes cause a restaurant to be pushed to its limits which can sacrifice quality and service. However that was not the case with The Grazing Room at all. Upon entering we immediately were greeted warmly and the entrance way is SO adorable with its little goodies for purchase and adorable coat "room." Our table allowed us to enjoy the wintery scenery and our server was knowledgeable and friendly yet professional and courteous. The meal was without a doubt world-class, and we've eaten at some well known establishments so have a reasonably good knowledge of what qualifies. If you're reading this then you should find a reason to make a reservation here as soon as possible. Personally I venture to say that it was one of the top meals that I've ever had at a restaurant (please see picture of my roast pork with roasted root vegetables attached).

The entire experience from the homemade assortment of breads, and heated plates and bowls to ensure our meals were served hot, to the recently ironed linen table runner and elegant glassware, all came together to make one of the most memorable family restaurant holiday experiences of our lives. I love to cook but as a family we also adore a relaxing holiday meal out because we can enjoy each other without us fighting in the kitchen and me ending up exhausted and at my wits end at the end of the evening.

This is truly a destination restaurant and those considering visiting The Grazing Room at Colby Hill Inn should take the leap of faith. We did and are better for it! Our deepest gratitude goes out to everyone who is part of the team that made our Thanksgiving dinner so memorable at The Grazing Room!!

I cannot say enough about how much I enjoy the Colby Hill Inn and the Grazing Room. We just had our wedding here and Jeff, Bruce, Lisa, and the entirety of the staff were so professional and amazing in everything they did. We felt so welcomed and taken care of all weekend. The food is some of the most exquisite cuisine we have ever experienced and we frequent their restaurant quite a lot. This is a gem in Henniker and I recommend it to all locals and visitors.

The food and service here are amazing. The setting is peaceful. The have goats, chickens, and gardens in the back. Truly a special place.

One of the best places we have enjoyed dinner in New Hampshire. The service was impeccable and the food incredible. They even have local meats and cheeses. We most definitely will be back soon.

This place is amazing. The quality of food is impeccable and the service is even better. Owners really make you feel like your at home We did the Argentinian wine pairing with dinner last night and we had a great meal and a great time!!!

Came here because I saw the review of this being the best restaurant in New Hampshire and it was RIGHT. Our server was absolutely amazing, the food was heavenly, and the wait for everything was extremely reasonable. Highly recommend!

Excellent service and fantastic meal for the end of a weekend. Found the place after an impromptu off road adventure and can't think of a better place to dine. We were invited to feed the goats at the end of the barn too :) Will come again.

If you are looking for a remarkable meal-this cant be beat. I had a fish curry and it was probably the best curry I have ever had. You would not think this would be possible in a restaurant in NH, I recommend getting an interesting the dish, I have never been disappointed

Amazing place. The owners, Jeff and Bruce, really know what they are doing. We just had our rehearsal dinner yesterday and everything was great. We have been here many times over and really love this place. Highly recommend!

Food is always a treat to eat. Very comfortable atmosphere. They use local ingredients and turn out great meals.

Excellent dinner with great service and an extensive wine list. Entrees are paired with wine recommendations on the menu which makes the selection much easier.

My wife and I got married and had our reception here. It went very well. We exchanged our vows in front of an antique fireplace. The food was great and the owner worked with us well in advance to make sure that everything went well. It did. It's also a great place to have dinner. We never stayed overnight so I can't offer much feedback on the rooms, but it's a great place to have dinner or hold a function. Very warm, hospitable atmosphere in a historic building.

Our stay was brief (1 night only) but very pleasant. The place is an older style home but has been decorated and arranged in a very charming way. The innkeepers and staff were all extremely pleasant and accommodating. The food and atmosphere were both top notch. It was also very unique to be able to eat breakfast and then walk through the beautiful grounds around back to where they keep goats, yes goats! Four baby goats that you can feed. Very cool.

Lastly, on our way out, the owners pointed us to a nearby covered wooden bridge that had been restored which we otherwise would not have found. It was only five minutes away and worth asking about if you stay here.

The old buildings have a lot of character, the rooms are very comfortable (I've stayed in 4 different ones, on separate visits), and the farm to table food is absolutely wonderful. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the staff is very nice.

This is also a great inn for kids. My three children love playing with the goats and swimming in the pool. There are several kid-friendly atractions nearby as well.
