Mel-O-Cream Donuts

A friend and I went in to have doughnuts and something to drink. The lady behind the counter was very kind and helpful in explaining what each of the doughnuts was. There was a wide variety of doughnuts and drinks as well. The prices were very reasonable. The doughnuts were great. The atmosphere was very casual and laid back. I highly recommend Mel-o-Cream and will be going back there soon myself.

What is there to say about Mel-O-cream? Tastes great? Check. Reasonably priced? Check. Nice people? Check again. Will be coming back whenever I'm nearby to be sure!

I like batter they use. The chocolate old fashioned is my favorite. Often sold out early. They should make more.

It's in my neighborhood and I'm glad for that. It's the main one where all the donuts are made so put that in your book. I pace myself...I mean after all it's not a healthy choice but every once in awhile is ok. It's definitely the best one with friendliest of staff.

Love the variety and high quality of tasty donuts at Mel-O-Cream. But I also enjoy talking with the friendly staff and fellow customers.

They run out of the Carmel and chocolate long longs too fast!
We get them on the way to drop the kid off at school. I guess 8:50 is too late for the good stuff lol. We will keep going back though

Great little donut place the old fashioned glazed was really good.

Fantastic donuts and friendly people. Get the glazed old-fashioned for its soft but crispy texture and deep, sweet flavor. The spiced donut holes are awesome, too. Get there early, though, because the best items are usually gone by around 10.

This is one of the oldest and original donut shops of Mel-O-Cream, that I remember from my memory in Springfield, Illinois when I was little in 1964 - 1966. Those times were special to me, because we lived with my Grandmother on 13th street. I remember my Uncle Bobby, He would bring her a beautiful, Yellow Box of Mel-O-Cream Donuts every Sunday, and my Uncle Norman (who lived with us), if my Uncle Bobby couldn't visit, he would go out and get a box of Mel-O-Creams, or a box of Gold-n-Glow at Sonrise Bakery, if he was in a hurry. Usually, it was always Mel-O-Creams, and the delicious tasting delights inside were so scrumptious. I looked forward to those Sunday Dreams of Mel-O-Creams. Gold-n-Glow were good, but, Mel-O-Cream Donuts were out of this world. So, when I go to a happy place in my mind, it is at my grandmother's house, where there was always a box of delicious, Mel-O-Creams, sitting in a box just waiting to be eaten by my quick hands. Thank you Mel-O-Cream for all the memories.

This place is a natonal friggin treasure. If your in from out of town try a chocolate old fashioned. But be warned the rest of your day all down hill from there. Best thing I've ever tasted. I'm still trying to figure out how to marry a donut, cause I love them that much.

Mel-O-Cream, thank you. When I was in 2nd grade I played for the Mel-O-Cream sponsored soccer team for YMCA soccer. We won our first game, tied the second, and then lost all of the rest. While on the team I learned what was truly important. That a lot of love goes into a good donut, and Mel-O-Cream has just that. Today I am proud to still wear my soccer t-shirt from 2nd grade even though it is falling apart, and I am proud to wear the Mel-O-Cream tie. I am proud to be a Mel-O-Cream supporter and am proud to eat the donuts packed with love. Thank you.

Favorite Donut shop, Icing is made using their secret sauce and I must say is Much MUCH better than the chain Donut shops.
