110 mile round trip, but well worth the drive. Amazing steaks, and twice baked potato that will amaze your taste buds. French salad dressing (homemade) that is amazing also. Another great visit 1/8/23

This is a great restaurant. Being so old, it for sure has its flair. The waiters are great, and the food is even better. Here you can get a huge variety of American food, and it is very well suitable for a nice dinner with your family. The catfish is amazing 👌👌

We hadn’t been back to Fritz’s in awhile after they seemed to have a couple mediocre nights. Finally gave them another shot recently for the old reliable Channel Cat and it was great, like the old days. We discovered a couple other ideas on the menu as well, and came back again for a steak and it was very, very good. This is one of the best restaurants in Springfield, no questions asked, and those type places are drying up quickly. Very nice service, low key in there. We will be back to try the chicken and walleye.

My Fiancé and I were in last night for dinner and we both had the tenderloin filets and lobster, and the chicken gumbo soup. Everything was absolutely amazing. We are from out of state and were here celebrating our anniversary and happened to come across your restaurant. We are so happy we did! One of the best dinners we have ever had! Thank you!

I had the Ribeye and my wife had the New York Strip. We both added a side of the 4 shrimp, and they were big shrimp. The steaks were cook perfectly and had great flavor. We split the lemon blueberry moscapone for dessert wich was awesome! The food was great and the staff was friendly. We are just passing through Springfield, but if we come back I would go back and have dinner in a hurry!

Our meals were outstanding! Steak chef salad was perfect and the vegetable pony shoe was delicious. The service was attentive and checked with us often.

An amazing experience! Classic food done well with care and decades of experience. The oldest independently own restaurant in Springfield and a real gem. Perfect for a casual family dinner or nice date night spot, great hours as well! A new favorite.

Waitress helped us change tables. And due to a meeting, she waited for 2 hours to take our order. Food is always good. I usually order pork chop. Huge. This time had rare chop steak. Cooked the way I asked...rare.

We've been there 5 times already and everything we have tried is wonderful! The wait staff is on top of everything and attentive to your needs. It has the feel of a very nice restaurant and makes us feel that we are eating out in a very special place. We'll keep coming back!!

Wow good Oysters Rockefeller.. U of I Burger was good, and they have a porterhouse steak though I wish it was in 32oz portions. Staff is friendly. Great atmosphere.

The steaks are cooked to perfection, sides are nicely seasoned. Owner, Joe, is a sweetheart, and chats with customers when it's not busy. I have never had bad service, and the only time there is a wait is when they are packed to the gills.

We had the fried chicken, it was a very good pan fried chicken. We sat at the bar, service was great, and the food was very good. I can't wait to return. I don't know how I've never been here before, failure on my part.

We sat in the bar area and our server was George he is truly what makes every experience. The food is amazing as well. But if your lucky enough to see George try the ribeye with the Montreal seasoning and the boldnias sauce!! It is his favorite and now ours!!!

We tried this place based on the reviews. It was well worth the drive. The food was excellent, and the portions were large. Service was fantastic with a very friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be repeat customers!

We love Fritz's for a nice, traditional dinner. The fried chicken is excellent, as are the steaks. Love the " not a chain" atmosphere. Always have great service !

Love this wonderful restaurant! The food is great and the service is better. We moved to Springfield in 2006 and found an ad for Fritz's in the phone book! Seems like ages ago but we have been going ever since.

Our waitress, Missy, was very attentive to our group of 5 although she had quite a few other customers. The food was excellent, Missy was cheerful, and the atmosphere was cozy.

Absolutely love this restaurant! Oysters Rockefeller are a must have appetizer! Great specials are served up by a friendly staff with too notch service

To go out and have dinner at Fritz's Wagon Wheel is a very enjoyable experience for yourself and your company. The service is impeccable the servers are very polite, they are very prompt with their service, the food is to die for, and the atmosphere is very inviting
