Joe's Crab Shack

I didn’t really have a bad experience. It was a long wait to get the food, but it is to be expected especially ordering a steam pot. We came as a group and ordered a Crab daddy feast with sunset fire seasoning, Shack daddy with garlic sauce, seafood linguini pasta, the steamer with garlic sauce, & a Pirate platter. Out of all of that my favorite was the the steamer pot and the pirate platter! So good. The waiter even recommended getting garlic bread to dip into the steam pots that have garlic sauce. The linguini pasta can be a hard pass, but the steam pots with queen crab is the way to go here!

Had a great meal at Joe's today! I'm not big on the big chain restaurants but I was pleasantly surprised today. My glass was never empty and the service was awesome! Highly recommend the East Coast Platter. I was starving so I forgot to take the pictures before we started eating.

Honestly, first time at any crab place and I'm super impressed. Our waitress was so patient and explained the menu quite well and when we ordered she even showed my kids how to eat the crab (she had gloves). My steak i ordered was overcooked and she took it and comped it for me and was really apologetic about the whole deal. I'll definitely be going back to Joe's!

The menu changed since the last time we were here. The kids' menu was a lot of choices, even included ice cream. What I liked most is that they even have the playground for the kid next to it. My kids played while we were eating so that was nice...Their drink had the choice with shark toy that they both loved.

We usually order the steam bucket and they were always good. Today we weren't in mood for entrees so we ordered appetizers, the stuff mushrooms and the shrimp peel were great. Services could be improved a bit faster....

Other than that we would definitely be back.

As I expected, the food and service was great. Upon walking into restaurant, I was greeted with professionalism and friendliness. Server was nice and checked on me frequently. The manager check in and was also very kind. Food was hot and delicious. I must not have visited in a while because I ordered the shrimp and crab dip and it hit the spot. The Galveston location is definitely one of my tops. It’s also a great location since you can have a great view of the beach.

The waitress was so awesome. Took our order without writing it down. We ordered all at once drinks and appetizers and build your own steam pots. Really awesome lady. Forgot her name, but Joe's knows who she is! Good food, drink ate outside. Would be a lot better if people didn't take their loud, bad, obnoxious kids' places that we go. I know we had some kids once, but they were way better behaved... maybe... well, that is how I am telling the story!

We love Joe's Crab Shack. We eat there just above every trip to Galveston. The kids can play on the playground while we order food. This time, I had the shrimp and seafood ensemble. It was really good.

Our server Ms.Keke was Amazing. We went for lunch with 2 small children and she gave them lots of smiles and high fives. She gave them special treats as well for eating all their food. Food was Great. Our family of 5 will definitely come back to see her

Came across this place just as soon as we pulled into Galveston. I'm not big on chain restaurants, but I had a good time here. It has all the typical tourist stuff tou might find on the seawall in Galveston including a gift shop. However, the food was good and the service was outstanding. There were people in our group who had complicated orders. The server memorized them all down to the most minute detail. Amazing. I had the fish and chips which was tasty and not dried out or worst yet, greasy. I don't remember what my partners had, but it looked food and they seemed to like it. The environment was eclectic and fun. If you are in Galveston and are looking for something easy and good, I would check out Joe's Crab Shack.

We came in at 9, with a party of 6. Alexis was our server and was extremely kind and sweet. The food was pretty good. Overall was a good experience, but there was some older white man not being very kind of our server. Seemed like a manager. He seemed upset that we hadn’t left at 10 since they close at ten. I could hear him scolding her which is no way to treat your employees. He definitely left a sour taste in my mouth and needs a training on how to properly speak to employees. He made me not want to come back. Alexis was great though, I would come back for her🫶🏻very polite and sweet.

Honestly my famy had a blast here. We are on vacation and it was our first time eating any sort of seafood boil, Everyone was super friendly, our waitress was patient with us considering we were first timers and needed extra time to look at the menu. We ordered the Cajun steamer pot, snow crab pot and kids steamer pots. Everything was delicious! Good food takes time to cook...happy customers..also, we made an online reservation, that way we didn't have to wait

Hostess greet us very friendly. Food was excellent and big portions. We had shrimp and fish. Kids menu great selection we had kids cheeseburger with fries and corn on the cob. Server was on top of everything. Location it’s fabulous across from the beach!!

Food was good, service was good, we did wait 45 minutes but worth it!

My brother came all the way from Canada and Joe’s crab shack was in his Texas to do list. Keke was our server and she made our experience amazing. Very knowledgeable of the menu and quick to give the best recommendations. She went above and beyond for us which made our experience at the restaurant even better. The king crab was to die for.

First time to eat at any Joe's Crab Shack; had been interested to eat there. Had the Shrimp and Seafood Ensemble and a cup of clam chowder, and a "Passionfruit Mule" cocktail, and mini-size Key Lime Pie for dessert. Food was tasty and very flavorful. Service was friendly and attentive. We had a really good seat outside--best spot on the patio. Glad we came!

On our travels to Galveston's Beach front, we stopped by Joe's Crab Shack for lunch. What a great decision.

First off, we had a large 3-car family and they were very accommodating. The food was delicious and the servers were amazing.

Based on the server's recommendation, I got the Fish and Chips. The batter on the fish was very crispy. The fish was tender and flakey. These are some very good fried fish. The fries were fresh fried with skin on. They were decent.

My wife had the Fish and Sausage Po'Boy. The combination was interesting, but rest assured the Po'Boy was delicious. I would order that next time in fact. The medallion fried pickles were so good that I would order it as a side.

One of our family members offered me to try their Captain's Calamari. The fried calamari was crispy and flavorful. If you like calamari, Joe's Crab Shack does a great job.

One of the many kids ordered Rockin' Popcorn Shrimp with fries. Despite a kids menu item, they were good. I would order these myself to eat.

Someone ordered a Carribean Cooler and it looked just like the picture. I didn't get to drink it, but I was told it was good.

Joe's Crab Shack is awesome. I will come back any time I'm in Galveston.

We were so pleasantly surprised what a wonderful dining experience our family of 8 had at Joe's Crab Shack in Galveston. Most of us had the crab boils with my 8 year grandson having his first crab boil experience. Eddy, the waiter, made the evening so fun and delightful. The different types of crabs with their dipping sauces were so yummy. One of our family member's had the shrimp plate with shrimp cooked three different ways. Next time I will get that plate as an appetizer to go along with the crab as they were also delicious. We split the chocolate cake, smores, and key lime pie with our favorites being the chocolate cake and smores dessert. When you come here, plan for a dining experience with your family, so don't be in a hurry. Everything comes out piping hot and fresh, so it is worth the wait. Will definitely visit again.

Our waitress was an A+. With her service, very professional and I will come back and ask for her. She helped us get points on the card for all the Pappas restaurants. When we were leaving I inquired about a T-shirt and a mushmallow toy and the lady that Helped, She was small in stature but a very tall helper to us! Great Evening Escape! Very on the ball and more! We will be back!
