1st time here. Had sword fish, shrimp with crab cake and chicken pesto pasta. No complaints, ALL was very good. Would definitely return to try other dishes. Waiter Justin recommended two of the dishes. Great service.

Wow!Amazing seafood dishes! The service was exceptional. The view of the Gulf and clean atmosphere of the restaurant were also great. We liked the lemon water for our hands at the end of the meal. The key lime desert was also exceptional.

I had heard about Gaido’s being one of the “ must visit” restaurants in Galveston and they weren’t wrong! The food here is amazing! My personal favorite was the “ crostini with crab”. The sauce had some Parmesan cheese mixed in and it was absolutely to die for! Next, we tried the red snapper with grilled vegetables and the fish was also one of the best I have tasted in a long time! It was the birthday of one of our family members and the host was kind enough to offer us a dessert!! I really loved my experience there! My one piece of feedback would be to lower the AC in the restaurant! It was so cold we couldn’t wait to leave by the end of it :(

Matt was our waiter. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant itself. He was attentive to us as well as his other tables. The food was incredible!! We had the bisque, the snapper, and crab stuffed shrimp. For dessert, bread pudding. Oh...and the bread!!! Delicious! Can not wait to go back!!

Our dinner was a full success across the board. It was the very first time for us dining at this place, and we will definitely come back. Our server Celine was so awesome, professional and patient. She had to explain the daily dishes multiple times since we could not decide. The food was excellent. We had our table right at the window with ocean view. Unfortunately that absolutely stunning view got disrupted by lots of cars on the parking lot right in front. There’s another huge parking lot right next to the restaurant.

Went last night for dinner. My Bestie and I are both celebrating our birthday. Justin, our server was wonderful. The manager even stopped by to wish us both happy birthday and was very sweet. He is very courteous and presents the specials most eloquently. I had the pecan encrusted red snapper, and it was absolutely amazing! My Bestie had the Greek salad and shrimp cocktail, and it was huge! This was my 3rd visit, and I'm definitely making Gaido's a must do every visit to Galveston. Even the bread you're served is delicious.

Busy, popular seafood restaurant in Galveston, TX. More expensive on prices but food is really good. We always order the charcoal grilled oyster, so yummy. The soft shell crab is fresh and has a lot of meat, surprisingly tasty and delicious. Make reservation even though this is a big restaurant.

Over 100-year-old restaurant run by 4th generation family. The food was awesome and the service was the best ever. Even the owner did a round and greet every table. Best experience. Special thanks to our table server Windsor.

Loved everything about Gaido’s. Went by the awesome online reviews and were not the least disappointed. The ambience was nice , the server Christan was extremely courteous and helpful with his inputs , AND the food was top- notch ! We ordered a combination platter, charcoal grilled veggies and pasta fettuccini- all done to perfection . The pecan crunch as the dessert was scrumptious - as they say, all’s well that ends well😊

Our recent dinner at Gaido's in Galveston was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the classic old-school fine dining atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which was simply amazing—creamy, flavorful, and the perfect appetizer.

For the main course, we had the stuffed shrimp and the grilled platter featuring snapper, scallops, and shrimp. Every bite was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to fresh, delicious seafood. The snapper was perfectly cooked, the scallops were tender, and the shrimp were bursting with flavor.

Gaido's truly lived up to its reputation, delivering a dining experience that combines fantastic food with a timeless, elegant setting. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Galveston!

If I could give GAIDO ‘S 10 stars, I would. The entire experience was absolutely amazing from the location, to the ambience, the cocktails, the appetizer, and the food. It all was absolutely amazing.!! The restaurant overlooks the beautiful beach and the rolling waves. Christian was our waiter and he was absolutely amazing. All of his recommendations were spot on. The cocktails were delicious, including the slightly spicy, jalapeño olives that garnished our martinis. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the oysters on the half shell and I loved the calamari. The bread was to die for. Our entrées were beyond works of art. We had the bacon wrapped shrimp and the crabcake stuffed shrimp. We brought our dessert back to our room and enjoyed it later that evening. The entire experience was an absolute triumph. GAIDO’s is a MUST on your next trip to Galveston.

Excellent food and service! Loved this restaurant. The waiter was fantastic and very attentive to us having a little one with us. He brought out her food early even though she fell asleep. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend. I also look forward to coming back

The food took a little long to arrive, but other than that we had a wonderful time. This was our first experience dining at Gaido’s. Michael our waiter was very cordial and knowledgeable about the menu. The bread and olive oil was fantastic. Great wine selection. The cocktail shrimps were smaller than i was expecting, especially given the proximity to the gulf across the street. However, the shrimps that came with my wife and son’s entrees were much better size.
I had the pecan crusted snapper with lump crab on top and it was fantastic. We had the chocolate cake for dessert and it was wonderful as well. Overall a great dinner, and we look forward to returning in the future.

Dishes :
Catch of the day/ Grilled Redfish on halfshell w/ buttered crab
Shrimp Peques
Grilled oysters
Ahi Tuna Tartare
Calamari

Good old travel foodies I have to say this place needs more of a 5 star then anything.
With our amazing waiter Wyatt, he let's us know this family restaurant being around since 1911 plus everything handmade.
My dish I must brag about is the Shrimp Peques everything from the rice to the bacon wrap Shrimp with cheese and jalapeños top with a brown sugar sauce is tasty. "Amazing!" Was the first words that came out.
As for the other dishes ... well you know it's good if they make a happy place in mins. Sorry I couldn't give a review on those. With a place that being around family owned for 113 years shows and the food is truly amazing.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday in March! Overall the experience was wonderful and we will absolutely be back. It was uncommonly busy for the middle of the week but everyone except the host seemed to be handling it well. Our server was funny, attentive, and made delicious martinis. However, in the reservation my boyfriend noted we would be celebrating my birthday and the first question from the server was if we were there for a special occasion. I’m not sure if it was an oversight on the host or the server’s part but it did take away a bit of the magic of the night. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the food immensely! It’s absolutely worth the price. We especially like the Shrimp Cocktail (we spread the Remoulade on the bread it was so good), the American Red Snapper Michael, and the Pecan Crunch with the happy birthday message! The beach is a very special place for us and I’m happy to include Gaido’s in our celebratory traditions.

White tablecloth dining in a 110 year old restaurant. Maybe the best stuffed shrimp I’ve ever had. Excellent service. A little pricey but definitely worth the experience.

Decided to eat at this known Galveston restaurant institution for dinner this past weekend and I was pleasantly impressed. The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful. Do not let the decor or the price tag push you away. It will be worth the time. One thing to note is that the dress code is not enforced so you may come fairly casual.

I hadn't been to Gaido's in 24 years. The Watkins soup is just like I remembered it and brought back so many memories. Salinda was our waitress, and she couldn't have made it a better lunch. Food and drinks are excellent. Gaido's is a MUST when in Galveston.
