I can see personnel really care about the pets. Very gentle handling of 2 giant fluffy, scared kitties. Daily hours are very helpful. Emergency hours are 24/7. If you have a question, they WILL answer any concerns. Overall, a great choice for our pets.

The staff at Wake Veterinary Medical Center were amazing. We arrived just before 6:30am with our 3 year old German Shepherd having a medical emergency. We were immediately taken back to a room and diagnostics worked up. They were in the middle of a shift change but staff kept us updated during the entire process. I appreciated that they reviewed the cost of bloodwork and labs up front so there were no surprises. Our sweet fur baby is back home recovering and I am so thankful they took such good care of her.

Although the staff was unable to save my longtime companion, they kept me in the loop. I feel that my “Sapphire” had the best care in her time of need. I was informed of what was being done as well as to be aware that my dog would not be fully recovered even if they were successful today. I spent the final minutes until her last breath, feeling in my heart that the staff and myself tried.

Our two older dogs (17 and 14) were cared for so lovingly by Wake Veterinary right through helping them walk the rainbow bridge. We’re grateful and comforted knowing they received such good care and in their final moments they (and us) were treated so tenderly.

Took my cat in on a Sunday for an exam because she had been having some issues and I was getting ready to head out of town. Had to wait over an hour to be seen but they warned me on the phone ahead of time. Ashley the vet tech was great with my cat and even managed to get her nails cut without any issues. Abby the vet did a complete exam with blood and urine workup to ensure there were no underlying conditions and clearly spelled out all of my treatment options. The genuinely cared about my pet's health and how I wanted to proceed without making me feel like a bad pet mom like some places do. Despite being a 24 hour vet, their services were reasonably priced. Will definitely return for follow -up care.

Cannot say enough incredible things about our experience at WakeVet. Every single person we interacted with was extremely helpful and caring. The receptionist when we first arrived was quick to help and keep me up to date. Our Vet Tech was so sweet with our dog and made sure he was comfortable. Dr. Irina Perdew was amazing! She was so patient and thorough in explaining what was going on. She answered all of my questions and took time to make sure we were clear on discharge instructions.

I'm so grateful I found this place. I've had some very negative experiences at two other ER vets in the past, but this was completely opposite. From the first phone call to bringing our sweet kitten home, our experience was incredibly positive. All the staff from reception to techs to the vets themselves were warm, compassionate, and honest. They gave me cost estimates up front so I could make an informed decision. They kept me updated the whole time. They even allowed me to bring my kids to visit with our kitten the next day since she couldn't come home yet. I'm so glad I found Wake Veterinary Medical Center during our emergency. I'm looking forward to switching all our pets over for primary care.

I had an emergency for my Corgi after he was attacked by a Pitbull in my neighborhood. They were able to get me in quickly, triaged him, gave me great updates of what was happening, and ended up keeping him overnight for observation. They were upfront about costs, estimates, care provided, and what I could expect. I did really like that I was put directly in a room for privacy and could sit with my dog alone before he went back. I kept the room the entire time.

I will use them going forward for emergencies, and was really happy with the level of care my corgi received, and the level of compassion I did as the patients Mom who was crying her eyes out.

Thank you!!

Wake veterinary was terrific! Dr. Kemp was so nice and so helpful and Katya, Dr. Kemp's assistant, was so kind and both of them took excellent care of our baby! That gave us all of the information we needed for aftercare, as well! Everyone was super knowledgeable and very patient with my husband and me. We were all so pleasantly surprised with the invoice. Prices were more than reasonable. Although I hope to never have another emergency, I will definitely come back to this wonderful place if we do.

I will always call them when I have a pet emergency. Special thanks to the vet who held my hand.

Wake Veterinary Medical Center is our primary vet. We really love that we can have all our dogs needs handled at one facility for continuity of care. We have 3 dogs and with that comes emergencies. We recently needed our Beagle to be seen, it was 1a and we were greeted and triaged immediately. We were anticipating having to wait several hours, however we were relieved that we were in and out of there in about 2 1/2 hours. That 2 1/2 hours was partly due to me requesting an X-ray which wasn’t entirely necessary but it made me feel better. We will continue to use Wake Vet for our pets care they are a great group.

We took our dog there at 400 in the morning this week for a medical emergency. She was vomiting, wouldn't eat, and looked to be in terrible pain. They saw us right away, and Beverly, the vet tech we saw, was professional and kind. I was freaking out, and her and the ER doctor Dr. Kemp were both great. They gave us options, explained the estimate, and took time talking with us about what could possibly be going on with her. She was immediately hospitalized and sent to the critical care team. Dr. Harris took on her case. I just can't say enough good things about how kind, caring, and professional Dr. Harris and the entire staff at this hospital are. The vet techs are fantastic. They treated Willow like she was their own dog, as did Dr. Harris. I could tell she was being treated great when I visited her. The pricing was extremely reasonable, given the severity of her illness. They were upfront about the cost of everything, even as the estimate changed. Dr. Harris figured out she was diabetic and had underlying pancreantitis. She called us every day, and I never felt like I was taking up too much of her time asking questions. She is home now, doing fantastic, and we are starting her on insulin. We plan on switching all three of our dogs over to their primary care office right next to the ER building there. I'm telling anyone that will listen. Take your pet here if you have an emergency. I've had some unpleasant ER visits with prior emergency vets myself, too. This hospital cares. They even have signs offering payment plans and other options. I'm never going anywhere else as long as I live in this area and have pets. Thank you so much.

We’re so grateful for Wake Veterinary Medical Center! They triaged our elderly pup with a bleeding splenic mass as soon as we arrived, engaged us in a very thorough and honest discussion about treatment options and their respective risks and potential limitations. Once we had decided to go ahead with surgery, they fit him in hours later, as soon as he had been stabilized, and kept us apprised of the results of the procedure and his ongoing recovery. We always felt without a doubt that everyone at the practice had Dmitri’s best interest at heart at every moment. Busy as they no doubt are, their staff is amazing about fielding phone calls from anxious guardians (hi, it’s me, I’m the problem, it’s me) day or night—I don’t think we were ever on hold for more than a minute. They set up a time for us to see our pup each day, and generously allowed us ample time to visit in one of their quiet and well-appointed exam rooms, during which time the vets (special thanks to Dr. Perdew, Dr. Watkins, Dr. Ford, Dr. Abbate, and Dr. Hartman) and the many amazing nurses (special thanks to Kat—I hope I get this name right and I’m so sorry if not; I’m better at remembering dogs’ names than humans’ names 😂—who spent lots of time going over my questions and commiserated about childhood horses decorating themselves with mud puddles and pokeberry patches) met with us and discussed his progress and ongoing treatment in detail. It feels like they really get to know and genuinely care about their patients, even knowing them a short time. Shout out to George who was wonderful about communicating with some very frantic pet parents, and keeping us up to date on the current status of our (very reasonable) bill. Three days later and he’s home! I truly thought we might be saying goodbye to our boy and am so incredibly grateful to all the folks at Wake for supporting us through this incredibly stressful time and giving us more good days with our pup. I would not hesitate to bring a member of our family there in the future. Endless thanks!

The staff demonstrated both excellent medical skills and tremendous kindness to precious Chief and myself. This is absolutely the veterinary hospital that my dogs will be going to in emergencies.

I am reviewing this place almost 2 years after the fact that we had to bring our very sick 5 year old golden retriever to their facility. We were lucky enough to find them open and available at 5-6am. They took us in immediately. They were about to aspirate fluid around his heart when he passed away. I cannot say enough good things about the care that my dog recieved and how quickly they acted. I still think about the vet that had to give us the news that he passed. I hope she's doing well. I've been meaning to go in and say my thanks but honestly I still get chocked up so here is a good review. I appreciate you all so much to this day.

I feel like 24 hour vets are hit or miss… it all depends on the wait time, staffing levels, etc. I will say my experience here with my dog was really great.

The front desk staff was helpful and really kind, as well as the assistant vets and the lead vet. They didn’t try to push anything on me that was “precautionary”, and I felt like they really cared about helping my dog more than how much money they could get out of me. Hopefully we won’t have to make another visit, but if I ever do - this is where I’m coming, no question about it.

Great experience - couldn’t recommend them more.

I took my my Rottweiler to emergency care after midnight. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were patient and made my dog feel very comfortable. They were simply on another level. I wish I knew about them earlier. Could not say enough good things about this team. I wish them the best.🫡❤ ❤

Our 2 year old golden had a complication from his neuter that required emergency care. The care we received from WakeVet was outstanding. All of the staff were great at keeping us updated on what was going on, they were upfront about costs, but most importantly they were super compassionate towards our baby. I’m so thankful they were able to help our sweet boy

First & foremost I appreciate they are 24 hrs. My dog never seems to get sick during the day, always the middle of the night. They’re knowledgeable, and transparent about what is necessary and what could wait with regard to tests & procedures. Definitely not warm & fuzzy when it comes to demeanor, but I assume that’s because they’re dealing with emergency situations. I hope I never need to return, but with my wild, crazy dude… I’m sure we’ll be back.

Everyone there from when we come in the door were so caring and polite. They showed us to a room and told us the doctor would be about 15 minutes, While waiting they offered us coffee or other drinks. The doctor was also very polite and explained the procedure that our dog was going to have and the side effects. They left no stone unturned as to what was happening and the recovery time. Made both of us feel very comfortable with everything that was going to happen. Thanks to everyone there for making us feel great at this time.
