MATSU Hibachi & Sushi

Me and my son had finished running some errands late Sunday. So we decided to eat sushi, typed it in google and this place popped up.

We went in expecting not too much, as we’ve tried other places and are pretty mediocre Japanese food.

When I tell you this place blew out socks off, the food the environment, the waitress was a young lady very sweet and attentive. I’d highly recommend this place,

I've eaten here a few times now and we do love it. The service is great in the atmosphere is nice. My daughter and I always get the fillet and chicken. I love the fact that they serve it with both rice and some noodles. The noodles taste great.

Fantastic service and wonderful food! We ordered the Sashimi Sampler for an app and my favorite the Butterfly Kiss roll followed by the Mochi ice cream for dessert. We will definitely return.

probably one of my new favorite areas to eat. we went to pick up dinner last night, the service was great the food is tasty, the place itself is cute. i truly recommend coming here. the portions are a generous size. the menu is huge & a bit overwhelming but it’s nice to have a selection. my only two complaints are the lack of sauce they give (we got one white sauce for two habachi plates) & one of the rolls had wasabi all over. still would eat here though!

shrimp hibachi dinner w/ white rice (photo #1): while the rice serving isn’t as big as we hoped, it was still delicious. there’s zucchini, scallions, & onions within the meat. the dinner also comes with a side salad & miso soup.

steak & chicken habachi dinner w/ no vegetables & fried rice (photo #2): the serving of rice was a lot more generous with this order. the chicken & steak were cooked & seasoned perfectly. again, the dinner comes with a side salad and miso soup. they also gave two shrimp & noodles.

happy roll (photo #1): fried on the outside with cream cheese, avocado, & crab meat on the inside with spicy mayo on top (we may have missed some). the roll was good, would recommend.

salmon poke bowl (photo #3): the best. the bowl itself came with rice, avocado, your choice of fish, seaweed salad, crab salad, cucumbers & fish eggs. the fish was drenched in a slightly sweet sauce. it came with a sauce & miso soup. so delicious, the fish was fresh & buttery.

salmon sushi rolls (photo #3): standard seaweed wrapped around salmon & rice. super delicious, again fresh & buttery. not fishy at all either.

Omg My family and I just went here for my Birthday last weekend and OMG the food was amazing beyond amazing the rice was so soft and fluffy the meat was tender we got the chicken steak(upgraded to filet mignon) and shrimp hibachi it was so good and the yum yum sauce was delicious they cooked it in front of us and the cook was beyond entertaining and even played numerous Birthday tricks on me( I am going to get him back someday 😆) Well worth the money you won't be disappointed

BEST Hibachi I have had in all of the Triangle!! Had the lunch steak and chicken hibachi and it was fabulous! The steak was tender and juicy. The sauces had a great flavor. Tried the Panic Roll as well, most sushi I can eat a piece in one bite but this took two. The whole staff wore masks and required masks when we went in. Carry out only, no dine in. Everyone was super nice and friendly! Highly highly recommend!
They now have hibachi tables.....so good and so friendly. Check it out. Best I have had.

I ordered their sushi bento dinner for delivery this week and it is gorgeous! Not shown is the soup and tempura side and the salad dressing which was some sort of wonderful pink fruit concoction. Incredible value with a lot of care and thought into the presentation. Highly recommend!

Excellent sushi and miso soup. I don’t pretend to be an experienced sushi connoisseur, but I grabbed dinner here while on a work trip and absolutely enjoyed my meal and the service.

Their sushi selection is huge, and they are absolutely delicious. I've tried many sushi rolls because I go here frequently. My personal favorite is the Butterfly Kiss roll, but there are so many great rolls here, you really can't go wrong. And though I mostly get take out, when I eat in the restaurant, it is even better, because the way the sushi gets displayed on your plate is like a beautiful work of art.

What a lovely experience. More than affordable pricing and absolutely incredible food. I can't wait to come back.

The food was great, but I've never had sushi like this before! We ordered 2 "rolls" a piece and that was way too much food! Very creative sushi. I haven't tried the hibachi yet.

If you are looking for the BEST sushi joint that gives you that homey hole-in-wall feel.. this is your place! The display of food and creations with the sushi they serve is out of this world. Every time I visit Raleigh I always come here. 10/10 you will not be disappointed.

Placed a to-go order for the first time. It was ready by the time I got there. When I walked in, the host greeted me immediately and kindly. Before I could even explain why I was there, another kind woman came around the corner with my food and said "to-go order for Todd?", like magic.
Food portions were about 10% larger than standard WITH THE GOOD STUFF.
NOT 10% more rice, instead, 10% more salmon, chicken, noodles, etc. AWESOME! Everything was fresh and prepared with care. The noodles and chicken were packaged separately from the soup so the wouldn't get soggy in transit and everything tasted great! Would order from there every day if I could.
My ONLY complaint is that the display pond in the entrance is a little stinky, but youd be a fool to let that stop you from missing a great meal.
Also, I believe they are family-owned, POC-owned, & small business; a great way to support your community and keep $$ local. They're also available through GrubHub - yep, Ive already ordered from there again. Same great food direct or through food apps.

Always our favorite place to get hibachi!! Food & service is way better than any other hibachi restaurants in or around Raleigh, and staff is so friendly! Sushi is also amazing!

Our cook, Be (not sure how to spell his name) was really awesome and ws super accommodating for my 90 yr old Grandma. He also interacted with my 6 month old nephew and so my whole family had a really good time. Massive props for providing entertainment while cooking in the searing heat. Food was also very good and would definitely go back if we could get Be as our cook.

The food was delicious and the staff made for a great experience. They are doing some remodeling so the hibachi was not in use yet but still a wonderful experience.

Best Japenese cuisine in Knightdale! The kids and I loved it! The raman bowls were amazing.

My husband and I get sushi here often. I've gotten take-out many times, including for my parents that typically do not like sushi. They loved it!

Fast forward to this mothers day weekend, we had a large group. Matsu was easily accommodating. We ordered a ton of food and had the best experience. As usual, it was clean, friendly and FAST.
