This was hands down the best service I’ve ever received from a salon. Annette and her team are the absolute best. Never have I had a style stick for MONTHS after it was done, they’re truly working magic over there! You have to see it to believe it. The environment is calming, lowkey, and extremely welcoming. They also have a dope variety of natural hair care products, and plenty of knowledge on how to take care of and maintain your hair! An easy 11 out of 10! Don’t miss out.

I am new to the area and this was my first time getting my hair done at this salon. Annette was absolutely wonderful! As soon as I walked in the door, I was going to the back to get my hair washed. Not only was her service fast, but my natural hair looks and feels soft and beautiful. She also took the time to give me recommendations on how to maintain my hair and was very flexible with making my next appointment due to my busy work schedule. I highly, highly recommend her to anyone who wants their hair to feel and look beautiful!!

This was my first, but definitely not my last time coming to this place of business. Upon entry, Annette was ready to start my hair. The atmosphere is very friendly and I love that it's a no judgment zone. She was very thorough with washing my hair; she takes her time and ensures that you are satisfied every step of the way. She loves to engage in conversation which speaks volumes because you don't wanna be in a dead salon. The end result was nothing short of amazing! And to make things better, she did my hair in half of the time it takes other hair stylists AND better. So for that I am thankful and speak blessings over that establishment.

Definitely gives an old school salon feel. Annette wanted to know the history of my hair as a new client. Walked in and she was there and ready for me. She washed my hair and gave me the best scrub to my scalp. Deep condition and all. The salon atmosphere was welcoming and professional, while her prices are affordable and fair. I will certainly be back!

Annette was very accommodating and professional. Gave me plenty of knowledge on how to take care of and maintain my daughter's hair! I Very pleased with the results of my daughter's hair, definitely will be back.

I’ve been to Annette several times since finding her salon in 2021. She is professional and very experienced. The shop runs smoothly and service is efficient. Annette is also very lovely and caring; she remembered things about me from each visit and always asked about my family. I usually get a wash & blowout or a silk wrap with a precision cut. I’ve referred friends and family for braids and for twists on my teenage male cousin, and they’ve had excellent service as well. I highly recommend!

I have been going to Annette for eighteen years and she really knows her stuff. She evaluate your hair type and set you on a course of treatment of what you need. She does not use any store brand products on your hair and you definitely get the best care for your needs.

This salon is a rare find. They focus on hair health but they’re exceptional at styling as well. I’ve always been more inclined to styling my own hair, but not anymore (the pandemic clarified my limitations). The staff is talented and professional. My hair (natural/color treated) and my daughter’s hair (natural) are thriving under their care. We’re in and out in no time. Generally, we both get our hair blown out and the styles last for weeks. They offer a variety of services. My daughter is always excited to choose her hairstyles. They take excellent care of us.

Annette and staff did an absolutely amazing job on my grand daughters hair. She is mixed and we have had alot of bad haircuts in the past. Annette was considerate and actually listened to what we wanted as well as gave my grand daughter tips on how to take care of her hair.Definitely recommend

I will be making, Essential Design Hair Salon in Knightdale NC, my new salon! Annette is an amazing hair stylist with an awesome personality. She was able to pencil me in to her busy schedule last minute. The shop is super clean and the staff was very nice and professional! I like that she wasn’t too rough while washing and blow drying my hair because I am tender headed. I love the design of the braids Dominque did! I am a Travel CST, and I travel all over the country for my job. I’ve been to multiple salons and this is one of the best salons I have ever been too! I felt a warm welcome coming here. I highly recommend!!

Annette is an excellent stylist. She’s very professional and truly has a heart for people and their hair care. Her and her partner Sabrina worked together to do my hair. Sabrina did the cornrows then Annette completed my twist. I love the atmosphere of the shop I felt very relaxed there.

My daughter has her senior prom tonight and unfortunately, her hair stylist cancelled on us very last minute. I called several different salons before speaking to Annette at Essential Beauty. She took the time to tell me to breathe and ensure me she would take care of my daughter. She asked me to bring her by and we did, and she sat her down immediately and did a gorgeous style on my girls hair. They not only made us feel comfortable and like we were in good hands, but Annette also did amazing on her hair! I 100% recommend this salon and will be booking all future appointments for all three of my girls with Annette!

Took my mother-in-law to get her hair done. Appt was at 1pm, she was ready to work on her as soon as we got there. She was very professional and my mother-in-law was pleased with her work. Set up another appointment with her.
