Alexander's Guesthouse

The staff at Alexander’s are simply amazing. They are incredibly kind and patient, and a wealth of knowledge about Key West attractions and things to do. The property is beautiful and centrally located. Rooms are nicely apportioned and the staff have thought of just about everything. I can’t speak highly enough of Alexander’s. One note, I appreciated that the booking website forewarned me about increased noise in several of its rooms that overlook the pool area.

I absolutely loved staying at the guesthouse! The staff were so friendly, kind, and happy to help us however we needed. Our room was so nice and spacious. Housekeeping did a great job everyday - it was easily the cleanest room I’ve ever stayed in. The environment was so unique. We felt extremely safe and comfortable. All the other patrons were also so friendly, it was easy making friends throughout our time there. Everyone happily offered recommendations for places to eat and/or visit, although the included breakfast was delicious so we didn’t go out early. Most places were within walking distance but when we needed an Uber it was so quick to order one. A driver was available within 1-2 minutes. Overall this was an amazing vacation and I cannot wait to come back!

For the LGBTQ community, + our straight allies, there is simply no better place to stay in KW than Alexander's.
14 of us were there for a wedding. The Brides were the only ones who had previously stayed there. Every single guest said that they "hit it out of the park" by choosing Alexander's! And I couldn't agree more. The rooms were amazing, the staff, exceptional... the happy hour drinks were the best! The environment is so perfect...you feel safe and welcomed there. We opted to spend 70% of our time at the guesthouse, because of the atmosphere. I simply love Alexander's, and their incredible staff! Thank you for helping us make so many amazing memories! I’ve been staying in Key West for 14 years and Alexander’s guest house is the place to be!
Tim and Robin assisted me with my accommodations and check in. They were incredible to work with. My room was clean and smelled wonderful every time I walked in.
I stayed on the third floor. The temperature of my room was fantastic! My room walked out onto the clothing optional sun deck…Loved It.
I was flying solo and still felt very comfortable.

Alexander’s truly offers the BEST service and accommodations in Old Town Key West. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. Daily breakfast offers more choices than similar guesthouses and afternoon Happy Hour offered complimentary craft cocktails. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. Pool area is the perfect size to relax or meet fellow guests.

If you visit paradise, be sure and stay in the guest house made for paradise, Alexander's. I've been staying here for a number of years now and it never disappoints. The staff are warm and friendly and ready to do anything to accommodate the perfect Key West experience. Beautiful rooms and well maintained grounds provide a tropical environment that is unmatched on the island. Say hi to Tim, Laura and Robyn for me when you visit.

This was our fifth visit to Alexander's Guesthouse and it did not disappoint. I hesitate to share all the wonderfulness that is Alexander's for fear the availability of this gem may diminish! However, I will say it's a first class guesthouse that provides a myriad of small details that makes the stay enjoyable. Of all the amenities provided, the best is the welcoming and affable staff. Consistently warm and friendly, the desk, breakfast, bar, housekeeping and maintenance staff are what make Alexander's an unrivaled oasis in Key West. EVEN Apollo, the resident feline, provides guests with relaxing inspiration throughout the grounds!

I had an exceptional experience at Alexander Guest House in Key West.
Michael and Tim warmly greeted us at the reception, showcasing their professionalism. Tim gave us a tour of the amenities and our room. Michael, in charge of breakfast, was considerate of my gluten sensitivity, pointing out available options. Beyond the fantastic service, the guest house boasts great amenities.

The pool and hot tub offer a relaxing retreat, and the air-conditioned rooms ensure comfort. The entire place is impeccably clean, making the stay exceptionally comfortable.

Having stayed in numerous places, this ranks among the best guest house experiences. Highly recommended for a truly delightful overall stay!

A quiet oasis in the energy of key west. We immediately felt like family returning home and most of the other guests were decades long repeat guests. Outstanding breakfast and cocktail hour. The gay energy in key west has waned and is looking for that party energy island house would be a better stay.but if looking for relaxation in a comfortable lgbt setting alexanders is an awesome stay

Repeat business is probably your best indicator on how incredible Alexander’s is. We’ve been going two times per year since 2005 and have met a hundred others who consistently share our experience. A vacation may only last a week but the friendships with the staff and other guests last a lifetime.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at Alexander’s guesthouse. They truly go above and beyond and make you feel welcome and at home. We will definitely be staying with them again in the future. Gay couple first time to Key West. Not into the party scene, so loved the charming location not too close to Duval but easily walkable. Breakfast and Happy Hour were lovely moments of social interaction with other guests--staff and guests extremely friendly. The staff were always helpful and super considerate. Definitely would stay again and again.

A masterclass in hospitality. This place is the perfect Key West spot ! Older property that is beautifully maintained. Peaceful and filled with kindness and care. The team members at Alexander’s are simply amazing. Look no further !

We only stayed one night in this LGBT hotel, but it was a good experience. Ronan the host was super friendly and we really felt welcomed as if we are coming to someone’s home. They had good included breakfast, happy hours drinks, the location is quiet and nearby houses are postcard like. Our room was a low cieling one, but we knew that when we booked. The rooms are expensive but I think all hotels in key west are super expensive. I would definitely stay here if we every come back again- mainly for Ronan’s hospitality x

Can’t say enough good things about Alexander‘s Guesthouse. Our room was meticulously clean and very well appointed. So comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The pool and hot tub are a great way to enjoy the south Florida sun. Be sure to enjoy the afternoon reception and breakfast buffet poolside. The location is close to everything going on in town, but just far enough away to be quiet and relaxing when you want to get away from the crowds. Which strongly recommended to anyone planning a visit to Key West!

I just got back from an incredible weekend in Key West from the Out Loud Weekend and I have to say, Alexander's Guest House exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with such care, friendliness, and professionalism. (Robin & Tim) I've never experienced such wonderful treatment at any other place I've stayed at. My room was perfect, located right off the main deck near the bar and breakfast room. It was appointed nicely and refreshed daily. I loved starting my day with a wonderful coffee and a delicious breakfast with great music. The happy hour was a nice touch and looked forward with a cocktail by the pool. The entire place was beautiful and all the staff had such a great attitude - friendly and inviting. Highly recommend Alexander's Guest House for anyone visiting Key West!

It’s all about the amazing service. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming… Michael is an absolute gem. Perfect little get away. Located in the center of it all. Will be back for sure! Very relaxing!
