Very different bar with all the one dollar bills around, very old as it should be since it’s Florida’s oldest bar, very interesting! Service is good and drinks have a good price!

The dive bar of dive bars. Grungy of grungy. Dollar bills and bras get left behind here! Live music. Reasonably priced drinks. Pool tables. Other stuff. But most importantly alcohol! Short walk from cruise ship pier. And it's the oldest bar in Florida!!!

Favorite bar in key west. Great live music, the pirate punch is an awesome drink that is not too sweet or premade syrupy. It’s smoking friendly which is important to note. Great vibe in here very laid back and they have amazing friendly bartenders. Cameron was our bartender both days we have been in and he’s amazing and nice, gave us recs for where to go. This is the one place in our travels so far that I keep wanting to come back to. Def will be back again.

Pirate Punch 🥰 wear a bra you are willing to leave! There is a huge collection of of bras & bikini tops hung around the ceiling!

Good musician, and the place is my favorite. Never did get the grouper to catch my coin. The real Sloppy Joe's and history. Yes, that's a chastity belt. Don't go...you're not worthy.🩵🍻🏴‍☠

The history of this place is unmatched! We got an awesome “tour” from the marketing director, Anthony, about the bar! If you’re in the area, stop by and learn the history of the oldest bar! Anthony’s passion is unlike anything you’ll see!

Was crawling back to the cruise ship when I saw the sign saying oldest saloon in Florida. Had to stop.

If in Key West you need to take a moment to visit this place just for the history. Captain Tony led an exciting life.

Supposedly the bar even was where Jimmy Buffett got his start.

Be sure to bring a dollar bill so that you can sign it and add it to the collection. Or if you're daring, you can leave some other things hanging from the ceiling.

Five stars for being a legendary dive bar founded by the former Mayor of Key West and favored by Ernest Hemingway and other colorful characters during the 20th century. You can typically find live music here and cheap drinks (if you're looking for "fancy" or "classy" look elsewhere). Lots of awesome history in this pace -- much of it can be found documented on the walls. Be sure the check out the tree growing in the middle of the bar, the skeleton behind the bar, the former morgue, and of course the thousands of one-dollar bills adorning the walls!

Only the insiders know that today's sloppy Joe's is not the real one. Capt Tony's is the bar Ernest Hemingway had his drinks at. So much history and a great atmosphere. The singers are awesome too.

Visited for the first time today. Listened to the live music, had some beer and enjoyed learning about some of the history of Capt Tony's Saloon.

Great food, prices, service, atmosphere... and PARANORMAL! We went to Captain Tony's a couple of times while we were in Key West. Once during the day, and back again later at night. The manager at the time was very informative about the paranormal activity that takes place within the bar. What a great experience at this historically haunted location. We got outta the heat for a bit and the red ale was really good. Drinks were made well and not super expensive. It's a hole in the wall and my kind of thing.

Cool place with lots of history. It’s a nice change to be in a bar without a tv in it. The house amber beer on draft is good and the large cups make for a nice souvenir. The music on Monday night was good. Loved all the old wood and masonry.

Keith the bartender is the best!! This is not just some tourist bar .. tons of history, great live music, an absolute must stop every time you get to Key West!! Still one of the best bars in the keys!

Stopped in for drinks while bar hoping. The bar has a lot of history and it shows. Really cool to be in the bar that was the subject for the song "The Last Mango in Paris"

We enjoyed the live music and a couple of drinks here as we toured around Key West. It was a nice relaxing stop. The bar wasn't too busy, and the atmosphere was very entertaining.
