I walk the streets today with the same knowledge of cars & other vehicular machines I had as a newborn babe. There isn't an ounce of intelligence, expertise or knowing in this brain about automobiles. YET - Jerry didn't take advantage of my clear ignorance & went above & beyond at Richard's Tune Up. Not only did he get my car in as soon as possible, but he charged a more than reasonable amount for the work necesssry to nurse my vehicle back to health. Honest, direct & fair. 💯 Plus, you get to "support local" doing business here. I went from a full speed stop on my road trip on an Island far from shore to being back on the road in the time it takes for me to spit in the air & catch it in my mouth. THANK YOU JERRY! Richard's is the BEST tune-up shop we have in the lower keys. It's owned by a father son duo (Leslie and Jay). They're also the most affordable with the best in quality service we have in the lower keys. These guys are smart, intuitive, and fast.

I was in town from 200 miles away and had car trouble. They took me in right away and I had the car back and fixed in a few hours and at a very very reasonable price. I highly recommend this shop.

My check engine light was on, he told me to bring my car in, hooked up the diagnostic computer, told me the problem according to the computer said I would be able to drive to Fort Myers just fine. No charge for his diagnostic check. At a time when he could have had me over a barrel, he was more than fair & honest.

I had a coolant leak which can be minor or total the car serious. When I called the dealership where I bought the car, their service department couldn’t get me in for over a week. I explained it was a coolant leak, could they at least look at it. They’d “call me”. So I called Richard’s. When he heard coolant leak, he said bring it in. Early in the afternoon I got a call from Jay, who had found the leak, but no one in town had the part. He asked if I wanted to pick up the car and bring it in the next day or leave it. I left it and by 9:30 the next morning, I got the call that it was ready. He’d saved the old reservoir and showed me exactly where the leak had been. The cost was under $190.00! I will be going there for everything except exhaust work now as they don’t do that. Thanks,Jay!

From upstate NY and feared the worst but this guy Leslie, quiet Southern gentleman type, said "Leave your key here" I went for coffee and got the call to come and get it. 63.00? At home id pay that for them to have a look!! Wonderful and efficient, like my neighbor here told me. Dave

This shop was just amazing. I was in key west for vacation and was worried the price would be high since I’m tourist. The shop fix my knock sensor in my engine for cheaper than my garage back home in Alabama. They were also able to fix it within 2 hours of when I dropped of the car.

Dropped my car off night before and was done by 1pm the next day. Replaced a bad battery, oil change and tire rotation! Very fast and efficient service! A little hard to find but I'm definitely going back next time my car needs service!

I called Leslie (the owner) on late Friday afternoon and told him that my push button start wasn't working like it had been. He said it was most likely the battery. He told me to bring the car in on Monday morning and Jay (Leslie's son) took great care of me and Leslie was right. It was a bad battery. Within two hours, actually less than two hours, Leslie called me and the car was ready for pick-up. Richard's Tune Up is locally owned and is a family run business. There are no turnover of mechanics in and out of this establishment. The only hands that touch your vehicle are the same hands that have been for decade after decade. The business was established by Leslie's father, Richard, (hence the name, Richard's Tune Up) and Leslie groomed his two sons (Jay and Timmy) to carry on the family business. They are reliable, professional, and are good, honest, hard-working people. You can't remain in business in a small island like Key West if you are dishonest. Awesome, quick, affordable! I found a nail in my tire... I know it's not a big deal, but finding quality service on the island is hard. But lo! I came across Richard's, gave them a call, and they told me to come right in. 10 minute later my tire was plugged and I was on my way. Exactly what anyone should want for something like this. I will now always bring my car to Richard's. Great work, Jay!

I went to Richard's Tune Up today, because my tire had a leak and Jay trouble shot the problem quickly and located the small nail that was embedded in my tire. This is an honest family that has owned this business for many decades in Key West and all the mechanics are all second and third generation mechanics. I would highly recommend anyone to take their vehicle, when needed, to Richard's, where they can expect professional service and honest mechanics. There's a reason they have been in business for so many decades: Quality Service and Honesty!

I had truck issues while in Key West. Asked around and few locals referred me to Richards Tune up. When I got there I saw they had a lot satisfied customers coming and going which made me feel comfortable since I was a long way from home. Richards gave me an very reasonable estimate, told me to drop it off in the morning and they would call me when done. Picked my truck up mid afternoon, estimate was right on, truck was like new and made it home with no issues.. A+

Fantastic experience. Spent a lot of time trying to find a short in my electrical system and finally found it somewhere in a circuit going into the instrument cluster. He was reluctant to pull the cluster and install a new one because he wasn't sure that would solve the problem. Suggested a GM dealer might have seen this before. The amazing part is that he would not charge me anything for diagnostic work that took at least an hour!

Les and Jay are good people! They are knowledgeable and honest mechanics. I use them for all my vehicle repairs.

I don't know much about cars, these guys could've taken advantage of that. They didn't, when I got the call, it was a loose bolt and my bill was a little over 60$ for oil change and finding what needed tightened. Huge shout out for honest and good service. Thanks guys!

We run a local family owned plumbing business in Key West and take all our vehicles to Richard's for repairs, oil changes, mechanical issues, etc. We have been using them for over 25 years and find them to be an honest, reliable and competent auto service mechanics. We have recommended them to family and friends who are satisfied customers as well.

Always great service. Fixes it right the first time everytime. Won't bring my vehicles anywhere else.
