Jose Garcia, MD

I visited Dr. Garcia on Monday. I always have a pleasant experience with him. He is very friendly, professional and attentive to my needs. He answers all my questions and concerns and is never in a rush. I don't hesitate to give Dr. Garcia a five-star rating, he earns it!

I have seen Dr Garcia twice in the past month and each visit he spent plenty of time not only examining me but explaining things. His demeanor puts you at ease and you can feel his compassion. He is thorough without being over reactive. He certainly has his medical opinion re tests other doctors need to do and has said "tell them to call me if they have any questions".

Dr. Garcia is the great! He has been my husband's neurologist for 7 years. He is kind, considerate, gentle and soft spoken. He is always willing to listen to whatever you have to say. He's definitely not one of those doctors who gets you in and out of his office in 5 minutes or less. I can't praise him enough!

Dr.Garcia and his staff are very professional , supportive and helpful.
There has not been any time I've had a question they could not answer.
Dr.Garcia really knows his practice well and explains in detail.
He was also concerned and ask how I was because I care for my husband who sees him for treatment.I haven't had any issues in calling the office.They answer the phone.

Dr. Gracie diagnosed me with epilepsy when I was 15. It’s been scary and difficult but Dr. Garcia has always been nothing but patient and compassionate. He and his office staff treat me like family. I honestly wish more doctors were like him.

I'm a new patient of Dr. Garcia and he made sure he was very educated with my past care and obtained records upon my first visit. He. Made sure I played an active part in my treatment.

Was given a referral by my Doctor, called Dr. Garcia and made a appointment due to my seizures, everything was set up and info given and appointment set. About a hour or so later Christine calls and stumbles on her words then says the Dr. Isn't taking new patients and he's not a psychiatrist and they canceled my appointment, this is a message left on my voice-mail. I called back for the office manager and no return call or anything. Since when do you see a psychiatrist for seizures. Totally unprofessional and insuting. Beware staff has no manners or respect and I will be posting this everywhere I can to make people aware

My son had a car accident that resulted with a mild concussion, but his symptoms were not improving, so we were referred to Dr. Garcia's office as a follow up. His office never called us, I waited a week worrying, I reached out and they told me that they won't see him because he is a concussion patient from a car wreck. The problem I have with that is the failure to communicate that to me and just not following through and let us know. I would have never received a call if I would have waited longer. The fact they don't treat car wreck patients means they don't want to be called into a court case. I told them this is NOT an active insurance claim but a follow up from his pediatrician. They refused to see him, disgusted!

Garcia himself seems like a good doctor. The problem is there is NO way to communicate with his office. They do not answer phones; we cannot email as they do not accept emails. Doesn't matter when you call (I only call during normal business hours, which are 8-4 or 9-5 M-F but those are not business hours for this office). They are not answering phones after noon and they do not answer phones during what is evidently an extended 2 hour lunch period. I don't know about calls between 9 am-11am since i am busy then and cannot call at that time, but perhaps that's the ONLY window when they can be reached.

I wish doctors cared enough to make it possible for patients to communicate with their office. The office staff told me once that the "best way" to communicate with them is through the FL Hospital Portal, not by phone.

I tried the Portal once to access my father's medical records after a recent hospital stay; very complicated and required more security than online financial accounts to access, and even then the site didn't work. As I handle medical issues for three different people with three different insurances with 8 different specialist doctors, the majority of whom do not work with FL Hospital, NO. No more online accounts. ANSWER THE PHONE.

On Monday I had a spinal injury and had to go to the emergency room. I was told if the pain continues to make an appointment with Dr. Garcia. The pain has gotten so bad of the last four days and I desperately need to see someone. Every time I try to make an appointment through the portal I get an error message that says the system is not working when I called the office to leave a message The message answering service says to leave my information after the tone but there is never a tone it just keeps looping the same message over and over again. I would really like to see the doctor that I was referred to however I’m going to have to find somebody else who I can get in touch with.

Dr Garcia pushed & pushed to speak to my MINOR child alone. Then he manipulated her to say what he wanted to hear. He saw her once & then told us there is nothing more he could do for her migraine except admit her into the hospital. That's ridiculous! My daughter left her visit & phone call with him in tears. Never again!!
