Beyond the excellent food, the waiter was very knowledgeable and explained everything into as much detail as we wanted. The presentation and quality of the sushi and sides were fantastic. If you love fresh sushi, I would recommend it.

Phenomenal sushi restaurant. Our family dines here frequently. From the drinks to the sushi, you can't go wrong. The service is always spectacular. One of the best restaurants in Cville!!!

My wife and I went here for the first time recently and absolutely loved it! The sushi rolls and the beef skewers were particularly excellent and the overall environment was really nice. A little pricey for sure but, we had a great time and look forward to returning!

Our recent dinner at Ten was about as perfect as could be. Jack (ask for him) gave us a brief overview of Ten’s history as well as explained the menu with a sense of pride that you don’t often see.

The sushi was on a different level than I’ve ever had. It was exquisite in every sense of the word. My wife and I were blown away with each bite. A tip for couples - the chirashi was a great dish to share with two pieces of fish each.

Without question we’ll be back. Ten certainly left its mark on us.

I have had sushi all over the world and it’s crazy to say that CHARLOTTESVILLE VIRGINIA has some of the best food let alone sushi that I have ever eaten.

Very few places will match the level of service and attention to detail that this place has.

I read through the reviews BEFORE I went and was hesitant on how the service and wait was going to be, so glad I gave them a chance regardless! My boyfriend set up a reservation at 6pm tonight, we were seated immediately. The service was phenomenal, we had multiple people checking in on us during our dinner. Our water glasses were never empty and we were asked if we had any questions about the menu. We asked about the Sake and our waitress suggested an amazing Sake for my boyfriend! I’m a basic rosé drinker but they did have bubbly which was a huge plus! We finished our first course by 6:30pm. Again we were seated the moment we walked in! The food more than definitely hit expectations and the presentations were gorgeous! All in all I think my boyfriend and I spent all of 1 1/2 hours in Ten. Also it’s very reasonably priced for being the type of restaurant it is. We didn’t spend more than $200 for both of us, not including a tip. I wish I had pictures of our dinner but I just couldn’t wait to start eating AND it’s low lighting so I didn’t want to use flash to get a good picture!

First time wasn’t sure what To expect. Arrived 9:30pm, found the entrance door tucked into the right side nook of the building adjoin a downstairs restaurant. Up an extended flight of steps, greeted and quickly seated, requested sushi bar location. Spacious, lively music, mix of Jaz & crooners Like Sinatra. Place was busy, up beat social atmosphere, multiple tables seated with small parties and couples. Regular bar was located at opposite end from the sushi bar.
Diverse and rather large selection of items, the drink menu was lengthy with a multitude of options.
Staff was polite and attentive, sitting at the sushi bar allowed for an up close view of the exchange between front of the house and the back. The staff maintained a professional appearance with each other and the guests, even when having to inform that a selection was no longer available.

Yes might be difficult to believe but the meal was even better than it looks. My meal created by Robby. An intense flavorful experience.

I usually order way to much food for one person and being offered a large menu selection I definitely ordered. An unexpected surprise, an additional sushi roll(spicy toro) was placed in front of me. The sushi bar guaranteeing I was not going to leave hungry. I did have a very large meal, never felt rushed, I did wonder what time they were closing but it was not an issue during my late dinner. Bill was $164. The bulk of the bill was the ordering of the Chefs choice and my personal input on Adding in $40tip total for one $204 meal experience. Far less than a dinner at Ruth Chris and much tastier meal experience. The flavor combinations were outstanding.

One of the best foodie experiences downtown! Cocktails were unique, fresh, and really sets the vibe. The food presentation for the wagyu was so unique I will tell all my friends about the 500 degree rock it was cooked on! The cuttlefish tempura is a must...filling, different, and excellent flavor! A must try if you're in downtown Charlottesville!

Amazing sushi restaurant. The sushi tasted very fresh and our server Sarah was the best. She was about 8 months pregnant and was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the sea bass. Probably the best sushi I have ever had.

Our server,Jack, was amazing. We left our entire order up to him and he delivered an amazing assortment of shashimi. The rich toro actually melted in my mouth. The steak was an extravagant addition but was perhaps the best steak I ever had. This is NYC level

Amazing sushi. What separates this place from other sushi in Charlottesville is that you can taste the freshness of the fish. In addition a great ambiance. A little pricier than other sushi places but it is worth it for the experience.

I have never had a dinner that was such a lovely dining experience. The waitstaff was attentive and informative, the atmosphere was intimate yet modern, and this is the best sushi I have ever had. Bar none. Prices are also reasonable and competitive. I will be back. Thank you for a lovely dinner!

Ten was recommended to us by a friend of ours. We immensely enjoyed our food and the ambiance. Be prepared to spend money but the food is so worth it. We will be going back again soon. ❤❤

I went to Ten for my birthday for the first time since Covid. The food and service were phenomenal. This is hands down the best sushi in Charlottesville.

Delicious -- ordered several small plates and maki rolls. The chef's omakase was our favorite part of the night. Perfect spot for a special occasion meal

So glad I tried this Ten for restaurant week! Every selection we tried was so tasty! The waiter was super accommodating and made our meal even more enjoyable! The fish is super fresh and the sushi rice is incredibly well seasoned. Love love love and will definitely be back again!

We got lucky and were able to snag a table on a Friday night at 6 because they had just had a cancellation. Otherwise, we would have had to find somewhere else to go.

We had a 5pm reservation and the experience did not disappoint. Jack was phenomenal, provided us with the detailed list and history of the restaurant. We were overly satisfied with the quality of food we got. The sashimi layout was amazing, as Jack described. Everything was great and out in a timely manner. Will definitely be back, what a great experience!

Top shelf sushi. Always hesitant of sushi places that 1) aren't on the coast and 2) are in a college town. But this place is different and only serve the finest Japanese fare. The Leeche Martini paired with the wagyu roll really well. The uni w/ quail egg over rice was perfectly balanced and fresh. The rainbow roll is a wonderful option for the less adventuress too. We would have stayed and tried everything on the menu but we're sampling all the local food in the Downtown Mall and ran out of room :) 5 well deserved stars.
