Iron Paffles & Coffee

Fun and unique idea, and tastes great. I have a food allergy to milk, and the staff was super kind in helping me to identify options that would be safe for me. I went with Fried Tofu, Avocado, Vegan cheese, and Siracha Mayo for a savory option. I did the Strawberry Compote, chocolate gnache, and vegan whip as a sweet option. Both were great, and I genuinely appreciate them offering the vegan waffles so that I could enjoy this playful menu too. Thank you!

Great place to go if you’re vegan! I really enjoyed my sandwich, although the vegan sriracha mayo was not even a hint spicy like I had been expecting. My husband did not enjoy how flaky and messy the paffles were, and was disappointed when they said they didn’t have ketchup like other restaurants do.

I was blown away by Iron Paffles. Do yourself a favor and stop by. A "Paffle" is pastry pressed in a waffle iron. We absolutely loved our food. The Nashville Chicken Paffle sandwich was simply perfect. It was spicy, crispy, and had just the right amount of everything. The buttery Paffle uplifted the flavors of the sandwich. The standout everyday hit will be the egg breakfast Paffles. The temptation to grab one of these and a coffee every morning could be too much to bare. The Blueberry Compote Paffle was our finisher and it was a treat. Of course a sweet, fruity, and creamy filling goes perfect inside a puff-pastry-waffle, but everything tasted fresh and homemade. It's a cute little place, which can get pretty busy so seating might be tricky. I also thought the mimosa menu was clever and the Theif-of-the-month pics brought some oldschool bodega charm. I wish there was a rating higher than 5 stars.

Husband and I visited on a whim last weekend and we’d pleasantly surprised! The waffles were so light and airy. Husband had trio coffee which he said was good, and I had a caramel latte with their homemade syrup. It was a bit too sweet for me, but was very good! (I usually get one pump less syrup when I go to Starbucks, for reference). We’d absolutely go back again if we’re in the area.

As a gluten free girly it can be hard to find a good handheld breakfast on the go, so shout-out to Iron for making a delicious gluten free waffle sandwich. The iced coffee was also bomb.

When we are even near Charlotteville we make the effort to stop! Top 10 breakfast places ever for us!

Amazing little counter service shop with waffle sandwiches made from puff pastry and every filling you can imagine. I had a chorizo, hash brown sandwich and it was amazing. My wife had the gluten free and it was spectacular as well. A must have if your in the area.

This place was delicious! Small place but big flavors. My husband and I stopped here for lunch and it was perfect. Our sandwiches were delicious and our coffee drinks were perfect. Highly recommend. The Staff was friendly and hard working getting everyone’s orders done.

As someone who can’t have gluten, it’s not always easy to eat out. Not only does Iron Paffles make it easy, the food is AMAZING!! I haven’t had a true gluten free breakfast, this good in years! Coffee is great! Staff is so friendly! Totally recommend!!

Iron Paffles & Coffee is a fantastic little spot, offering waffle sandwiches made with puff pastry dough. We ordered the Fried Chicken & Iron Glory sandwiches, both of which were made quickly and were both delicious. We also got a hazelnut latte and a mocha, both were made as expected. Pricing was affordable, staff was friendly, seating is somewhat limited (I could see 4 tables for up to 12 people, and bar-top seating). Definitely recommend!

An absolute delight to be able to have waffles and fried chicken that is Gluten Free and Celiac friendly. We're from out of town, but would come back to Charlottesville just for this!!!!

A must try if in the area. Flakey, perfectly chewy waffles made into savory sandwiches or enjoyed as sweet treats. Great coffee, quick service, absolutely the best hangover food.

This is our second time trying Iron Paffles while in town. Husband had a savory, I made my own with egg, cheese, bacon, and tomato. He devoured his so quickly I couldn’t get a picture in time. Mine was absolutely to die for, even if it was a tad basic. The egg was warm and fresh (scrambled), the cheddar was the perfect amount, and they loaded up on the bacon. I wish the tomato was warmed, but I know some people really hate warm tomatoes, so no points lost.

The waffles are pastry like, so they’re fluffy and flaky, not dense like Eggos. They don’t get soggy with the sandwich fillings which is super nice and aren’t sweet like a typical breakfast waffle.

We also split one of the Sweet waffles, Iron Maiden, which had Nutella and bananas with a light dusting of sugar. TO DIE FOR. So, so, so good. Packed with bananas and Nutella, and while it was very sweet, it was VERY good.

Coffee is great, both drip and espresso drinks. Orders come out pretty quick (5-10th max) and freshly made. Highly recommend stopping by when in town!

I ordered Uber Eats for a gluten-free waffle breakfast sandwich and these folks did not disappoint! Thank you for the care you take to prevent allergen cross-contamination and the fantastic selection you have too. Next time I am in town I will absolutely be back!

Chicken and waffles are great, and in that vein, paffles are even better! Easy to order online, and staff is always working hard to prepare food. It's always hot and delicious, and their different menu items are paired well with different flavors. Even got to try the specialty pumpkin butter/whipped cream creation, which was awesome. Also, try the sweet potato hash (pictured).

Food was delicious and we appreciated the lady who helped us; ordering took a while since my girlfriend only speaks Spanish, yet the young cashier (purple hair) was so kind and patient.

Very tasty! I got the savory chicken doused in a delicious siracha sauce. The chicken was heavenly moist and crispy. Paffle was flaky…I’d honestly eat it without it!

The Paffle sandwiches we had were delicious and worth the wait. 5 stars for the food alone

It did however, take about 30minutes to get our order from the time we entered, the two poor girls working there were working their butts off and could have definitely used another couple pairs of hands, owners should hire some additional help.

Paffles has always had a special place in my heart. This past weekend, some friends and I came here to get some midday paffle sandwiches.

My usual has always been the fried chicken, honey, arugula, and cheese grits combo - but this time around, I tried the mac n' cheese paffles and it was equally delicious! Definitely would recommend this place for a lunch stop - lots of interesting drinks there, too!

Me and my husband are obsessed with this restaurant, so much that he proposed when we were picnicking with iron paffles. Their paffles are to die for, and my gf and lactose intolerant husband always has options that fit his needs. They always have seasonal options, and their coffee coffee beverages are also high quality. I bring all my out of town friends to iron paffles to experience the wonder of a waffle sandwich. I will say that their dessert paffles tend to be on the sweeter side, so if you don’t like your desserts extra sugary I wouldn’t recommend them.
