This place has definitely improved over the years. I remember back on the day, people used to call this place "The River Dump". Since the new owners have taken over, I've continued to be impressed with this place.

Their menu is quite deep. Despite that, I ordered the chicken teriyaki, which was a special. It came with 2 sides. So I got fries and a salad. It was all very good. The chicken was juicy and tender. The teriyaki sauce that it was smothered in was very tangy and flavorful. The meal also came with a small rice pudding.

What's also very cool about this place is that it has a very locals feel to it. Everybody knows each as Rockwood is a reletively small city. But being off of the interstate, there are a lot of truckers and travelers that stop in for a quick bite. With that being said, it would be nice if they opened earlier than 9am. I feel as if they would generate much more business during the early morning hours.

This place also has kayaks for rent. Being right on the Huron River, it may not be a bad option.

Yesterday was my first time buying food from there. We had 4 pot pies homemade the beef one is called a Shepard's pie and 3 chicken pies.
They were alot better than anything you buy in the frozen isle that's for sure and you get a hefty amount for the price 4 pot pies fed 6 people. Great ppl great food

Always good food. My best friend and I love coming here. We ended up ordering more food because it was so good. Friendly staff too

We love this hidden gem. It looks like a regular diner, but they have so many truly special dishes and everything we’ve had from there is always amazing. They have the BEST chicken and waffles, Greek omelette, and lemon chicken soup and my kids love their pancakes!

Always great and kind service, and tasty foods. Had the coney dog with shredded cheese added to it, and a delicious bowl of rice pudding with cinnamon and whipped cream. Left very happy and very full.

Eggs Benedict was delicious! Nice place to go to, certainly not the greasy spoon I thought it was.

Fish and chips, first time in years, better than I remembered! Coffee is served with the decanter! Great place!

Rather surprised at this restaurant. My family were surprised with the quality of their food and their diverse menu. This establishment provides large portions of food at a price you can barely get a value meal for. This building has been around for awhile and the parking lot is in rough condition but manageable. Other than the parking lot a little extra attention to cleanliness (not saying it's filthy) this place could be the best in class restaurant in the area. They wait staff we pleasant and service was prompt. Located alone a river it provides a nice view while dining. We will definitely be back, and will be telling our friends about this place. Thank you for the great experience!

First time visit. Went for breakfast. Pricing was competitive with other local restaurants. Quality of the food was good. I like the bacon stiff and not chewy. The restaurant was warmly lighted. There were no noticeable cooking odors. There was no background music playing. The place was mostly occupied by silver heads at least when I was there. It seems to be their favorite place. Our waitress was A. and she was that delightful combination of balance between seeking the customer’s enjoyment and the boss’s interest.
Definitely need a return trip. Enjoy my friends.

This is a great little mom and pop coney island. They always have amazing food, fast service, and nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Well friends another restaurant goes in the books. Last Saturday the Dash n Diners went flash back mode. Due to scheduling conflicts, we went back to our old standard and went for breakfast instead of dinner.
We chose the River Village family diner 22825 Huron River Dr., Rockwood, MI. Many of us frequent here after church and Ray goes here almost every Sunday with his son.

I have had many of the dinner items and the Chicken Potpie is out of this world. I have been known to consume a little food. But this thing is even intimidating for a fluffy like me. And the crust is amazing. (just be careful it comes out lava hot) If you’re feeling ambitious they also rent kayaks. They take you up the river you paddle back down and then you can gorge yourself in home cooked style food. In a past article, I told you the Dash n Diners probably won’t be making that trip. If we got stuck, they might have to call in the coast guard. Not to mention no one would be safe from hijinks if we were on the river.

Everyone was super impressed with the food we ordered. It was so good if I closed my eyes, I would think I was eating one of my dad’s special Sunday breakfast’s. And the toast was not just your run of the mill Wonder Bread it was the great thick sliced bread. Everyone was super happy with the meals they ordered. A couple of guys ordered the Corn beef hash and they said it was great. I have never had a disappointing meal from this place. And the price for what you get is very reasonable. (Even enough food to make the fluffies happy)

Nassar the owner was great. (Every time I have been in here, he is running around doing anything including bussing tables) He was super friendly. We told him we would come back and get our orders, but he brought them out to us instead, even though the restaurant was packed. He had every thing super organized and was so appreciative for us coming out. He told us Massar was the chef, and this guy didn’t miss a thing. Everything was cooked to perfection. (Including my basted eggs which the guys made fun of me for). They are like cavemen. Nassar also suggested we post on Google so we will try it from this point forward.

Absolutely love Rachel! My husband and I go there for lunch once a week when the kids are in school. She knows our order and while it never changes she always asks. She knows it so well that last week when we had a different server and forgot to order it without tomatoes she fixed it without asking

My wife and I went here for a traditional breakfast after a long night. This was everything I wanted in a classic big breakfast. The meats were fresh and cooked to perfection, I ordered over easy eggs and they were perfect for dipping.

They provide a huge hot coffee carafe for refills that stays at the table.

Our server was Rachel and she was very attentive. She made sure we had all that we needed and checked in several times during our meal.

My new favorite spot on my favorite river. The chicken and waffles was the best I’ve ever had in my whole life!! Also they have the best gyro meat ever!! Awesome waitstaff and owner was very nice. Can’t wait to enjoy this food again😀😀

If you haven’t tried this place, you are seriously missing out! All of the staff are SO friendly. And the food.... I think I have loved everything I’ve tried. There are MANY healthy food options as well as vegetarian options. I had the avocado melt recently, which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Also, the best breakfast around and the prices are fantastic! A huge breakfast for $4!

The food was great there's nothing like homemade food. The Shepherd pie was really good. My waitress Rachael was great.

This is the Friday AYCE Fish and Chips for $10.99. It also includes salad and rice pudding. Fish is very crispy and hot. Fries are lightly coated and good. The tarter sauce is a little funny tasting, but will definately be back for more at another date. BTW, I was actually offered more fish as opposed to having to beg for more like at some places.

Best family restaurant around. Food is awesome, wait staff are super friendly and attentive. We go here regularly. Chicken Parm is fabulous

Decided for a visit when I travelled to see
a customer. The servings are huge! Below is the club, fries and barley soup.
I give 5 stars because the staff were COVID-sensitive and brought my food to me. Big enough to share for sure!
